Chapter 69 - 69: Blue Enters the World!

"Hey Faylin!" I said to her after walking into the Adventurer's Guild.

"Hey Arthrall, welcome back!" She commented.

"Don't you ever go home and sleep? You've been here all day again. . ." I told her.

"Normally yes, but some people are out today, so I stayed to help out. What can I do for you?" She then asked.

"Oh, we are just here for Dj, he is here to grab a quest." I mentioned to her.

"Oh alright, why don't you take him over to the Copper section of the Quest Board. You already know what to tell him about it." She told me.

"Will do, come on Dj. Follow me." I told him.

We walked over towards the wall, and Dj just had a flabbergasted look on his face.

"Why are there so many quests on the board? I thought this was a town, not a city!" He exclaimed.

"Well, it is a town. . . This place is actually bigger than Canton is, and it has a lot more people in it." I started explaining to him. "Now, for the ranking of these quests. The ranking of your ring is the rank you are able to do for the Quest Board. Since you're Copper rank, you need to walk over towards the far left of the board. Now the ranks go as follows, Copper, Bronze, Iron, Silver, True Silver, Gold, Platinum, Titanium, and Diamond. The more quests you end up doing, the higher rank you can become. Now, I'm currently Iron Rank, while Arialle is Silver Rank. To be honest, I was only Copper rank for the first week I was here. I had only done two quests at that point, but due to some circumstances, I was able to rank up. So for the past two weeks, I was Bronze rank. I was able to rank up to Iron rank after our most recent quest. Which was technically only two quests total, but due to us saving a city, also taking care of a quest that normally would take a month to do, we ranked up."

"Wow. . . I didn't realize there were that many rankings." Dj commented.

"There are actually a lot more rankings, but we don't have to worry about that for now." Arialle mentioned.

"There are?" Dj and I both said at the same time.

"Yeah, like Guild Rankings, Guild Roles, and such like that." She told us.

"Huh. . . I didn't know about that." I commented.

"So, what quest do you think I should do?" Dj then asked.

"Well, I was going to say to pick the one I did. It was a slime one that had me kill 15 slimes total." I told him.

"Haha. . . I remember that quest. When Arthrall went to do that quest, I went and tailed him to watch and see how he does." Arialle started reminiscing.

"Haha. . . Yeah. . . That quest was actually quite easy in my opinion. The only issue I had though was the running back towards town. I didn't think it would take me that long to get back." I commented.

"To be honest, I was actually quite surprised at how fast you got done with it." Arialle then told me.

"Haha. . ." I just laughed.

"Hmm. . . Well there isn't one that says kill 15 of them, but there is one that says 20 of them. Want me to grab that one?" He then asked me.

"Huh. . . Sure, that is fine." I told him.

After he grabbed that quest we walked back up towards where Faylin was currently. She was currently putting stuff into a bag.

"You about to head out Faylin?" I asked her.

"Yep, as soon as I'm done with you guys, I'm heading on out of here. So, what quest did you grab?" She then asked.

"I grabbed the kill 20 slimes one." Dj then answered.

"I actually have a question about that. Where is the killing 15 slimes one? I thought there were enough slimes to kill to where that quest would last a while." I asked.

"Well, normally yes, but after you killed the King of Slimes at that time, they stopped respawning for a bit. Now they have restarted respawning, to where there might be a King of Slimes once again, but not for about another week or so. That is why there hasn't been a request for the 15 slime killing yet." She answered.

Honestly that made no sense to me, but I just nodded my head.

"Alright, hand me the quest, and I'll get it hooked up to your ring." She told Dj.

Dj then handed over the quest towards her, which she took and also asked for his ring. He gave her the ring, and she took his ring to do the same thing she did to our rings with the quests. After she was done she handed them back over.

"There you go, now there is no time limit on this quest. So you can wait to start it till tomorrow." She told Dj.

"Alright, thank you very much for the help!" He told her.

"You're welcome dear! Now, I'm heading on home. I'm pretty tired. . . Haha." Faylin commented while faintly laughing.

"Later Faylin, have a great night!" I told Faylin.

"Later Faylin!" Arialle commented.

"Goodnight Faylin!" Dj as mentioned.

She waved at us while walking out towards the front of the building. Once she was gone, we decided to head on out towards Arialles house.

"So Arialle. Where is Dj sleeping tonight?" I asked her.

"Yeah, where am I sleeping?" Dj then asked right after me.

"Hmm. . . He could sleep in the room next to yours Arthrall. My house was built for three people, well technically a couple with one or two kids." She commented.

"Alright." Dj answered.

"Oh ok, didn't realize that was another room. I've actually yet to explore your house to be honest." I told her.

"All you gotta do is ask. I would have given you a tour of it." Arialle then commented.

"How about a tour around your place tomorrow then? Before we head back to Brondeac's." I then asked her.

"Sure!" She commented while smiling.

While we were talking, we reached her house. She unlocked the door, and Tyson came barreling out towards her. It was honestly quite cute, so she picked him up, and started tickling him. While playing with him, we walked into her house towards the kitchen.

"Alright, who wants to do the dishes? We have three people so it should be pretty easy for us to get them all done quickly." I asked.

"I'll dry them!" Dj commented.

"I'll put them away!" Arialle answered.

"I guess I'll wash them then." I mentioned.

"Come in!" I said.

"Hey Arthr. . ." Arialle started to say something, but then stopped.

"What is wrong Arialle?" I asked.

"Uh. . . Uh. . . S. . . Sorry. Um. . . Was going to ask you what time you think we should wake up tomorrow? I figured it would at least least take an hour or two in order to show you guys around the house." She asked with a red tint to her cheeks and forehead.

"Hmm. . . I think around eight in the morning should be fine." I told her.

"Alright, goodnight Arthrall" She said with a smile on her face.

"Night Arialle." I told her.

After that, she shut the door, and I took my boots off at that point. I put my armor and shirt on the chair right next to me.

"I really need to get my clothes. . . Only having one shirt sucks. . ."

{Indeed. Alright, so you mentioned something about getting some new stuff in the store right?}

The next morning came too quickly for me, I woke up with a slight headache. I decided to walk to the kitchen, and get me a drink of water real quick. I was also trying to think about what companion I should get, and it was getting to be a pain in the ȧss. When I came out of the kitchen, I saw Dj and Arialle leave their rooms.

"Hey guys, got a question for you." I asked them while standing there without a shirt on.

"Sure, what's up bud?" Dj answered.

". . ." Was all Arialle did, she had another red tint to her face.

"Uh. . . First, what's wrong Arialle?" I asked her.

"Noth. . . Nothing. Ask your question." She stuttered.

"Ok. . . Which companion should I choose next? I'm stuck between two right now. Either a falcon, or an owl." I asked them.

"Well, the falcon can be great for reconnaissance, and long distance flight. While the owl is great for night time reconnaissance." Dj answered.

"Don't forget, certain owls are great for carrying packages, attacking, and some other stuff too." Arialle commented.

"Hmm. . . I'm thinking of a Falcon Egg. . . Just because they can also carry stuff, but they can also be really great distance flyers, and they can relay stuff to us." I told them.

"Sounds like a great idea honestly, but it is still your choice bud. Not ours." Dj commented.

"He is right Arthrall." Arialle mentioned.

"True. . . Alright, it is decided. I'm going with a Falcon Egg. Give me a second here, and I'll go put my gear on." I told them.

I ran into my room, and woke the two sleepy heads up. While waking them up, I got my boots back on, and then put my shirt on. I didn't need my armor just yet, so I decided to keep it on the chair. After that, I walked out to the kitchen where Dj and Arialle were sitting.

"Alright guys, you ready for a Falcon Egg to show up?" I asked them.

"Sure, how are you going to get it?" Dj then asked.

"Just wait and watch." Arialle commented.

Orion and Onyx just came in, when they heard what I said. That instantly got their attention.

The moment I acquired the Falcon Egg, I instantly took it out of my inventory. It was about the same size as Onyx's egg, but different colored. The egg was a brownish color with black spots all over it.

"Wow. . . How did you get that?" Dj asked.

Before I could answer him though, the egg started moving. I could bȧrėly hear sounds coming out of it, but then they started getting louder. Then cracks started to bȧrėly appear around it, until they started getting bigger. The moment its beak finally broke through, the egg exploded. Like it didn't fully explode though, it only shot the egg pieces around me by about two feet. What was in it though, was an almost nȧkėd bird. It had very little feathers on it, but it also had its eye open already. While looking at it, it turned its head towards me. Then looked right into my eyes. The moment it looked into my eyes, it squawked. I couldn't understand it yet though.

"Arialle, go get some worms from the fishing guys out at the market!" I told her.

"Actually don't worry about that. I've got some here already. I was gonna use them for my garden." She mentioned it to me.

"Oh alright!" I exclaimed.

She went outside for a little bit, then came back in with some worms. She handed me some of them, then I took one worm and held it above the Falcons head. It looked at me, then at the worm. It opened its mouth just waiting for the worm to go into it. I brought the worm down towards its beak, to where it started to gobble it right up. I did this for about five minutes, before it stopped. The moment it stopped, I noticed something different about it. It started to grow feathers already. About 30 minutes later, it was in a full coat of feathers. The top portion of it was all light blue, while the bottom portion of it was a darker blue color. I decided to inspect in as soon as it was done.
