"Yep. Well I can't. I will have to howl and then a wolf near the palace would run to the edge of his territory and howl and then so on and so forth till I get a response back to my question. Then the response would travel back the same distance it went." He tried to explain how the howl worked to them. It never really occurred to him that they didn't have the same sort of communication as other species. 'How else would they get information from long distance?' he wondered quietly.

"What if someone doesn't pick up the howl?" Mally asked looking concerned. This sounded fantastic but there were so many holes. Lazren stopped and looked at her curiously. Her question seeming to have thrown him for a loop. He scratched his chin with his hand thoughtfully.

"Why wouldn't they?" He asked seeming to truly be giving this thought some attention. "It never occurred to me that a wolf wouldn't pass along a how… like… I legitimately have never heard of this. It's in our blood I guess you could say." Lazren replied slowly, as he tried to piece his way to a conclusion.

"Wait, can you send a how to a specific beast? Like if there is a wolf that I need to ask a question to, or get information to can you send it to that person and the howl carry to them?" Kyera asked a idea striking her. Lazren nodded after a moment of consideration.

"Depends on the distance." He replied honestly. "But yea, I have done it before."

"Okay so I need you to send a message to a Elder at the bazaar. Daxin. I need you to let him know I am well, I am trying to find my way home, I am at the palace, and I need to know what has gone wrong at home." Kyera replied and Lazren thought for several seconds organizing his thoughts.

"That's a lot for a howl, I can't promise it will all get passed on. Here why don't we reword it?" He offered with a soft smile. She nodded more than happy to do whatever needed to be done to ensure the information got out. "Kyera, at palace, well. What Is Wrong at home?" He offered and Kyera nodded slowly. They would know she was trying to get home. It was a given and she had given Verone her word.

"Thank you so much Lazren." Kyera's heart was still heavy and filled with worry but she held hope within. At least this way she would get answers on the wind.

"Alright. I will send this up. All I need you to do is wait patiently. It may take a bit for the howl to get back to me." Lazren warned her and Kyera nodded.

"Okay. I will try and rest for a bit before I have to go back to the palace. I think it's time the Prince knows he can interact with me." She sighs curling up next to Mally, who was still laying on her stomach.

Lazren nodded and went to the top of the tree. Changing form, the girls fell asleep to the deep, warm and mournful sound of a wolf howling cry. Kyera tried hard to rest, even with her heart uneasy.

"DAXIN DAXIN ITS THE HOWL!" The wolf barked at the main log cabin, nestled in the midst of the forest. The elder came outside instantly, his ears perked to the sky. Just then a wolf passed the howl along again. A howl of pleasure and excitement went up from his voice.

"Kyera, thank the gods." He praised with a grin that slowly fell. "Oh Kyera love…"He whispered shaking his head. "Call the council together. Tomorrow I leave for a while." Daxin replied walking back inside. The wolf cub stared after him confused by his words.

"Leave?" He asked and Daxin nodded as he pulled his leather jerkin on and laced up his boots. There was no room for error this time. The wolf had long ago mastered the art of looking like a hunter, now it was time to prove it yet again.
