The sounds of those behind them were damped by the heaviness of the forest air. Kan could easily keep up with the three Princesses' horses but he didn't really care to. His gait was smoother at a slightly slower pace and their horses were loud and he was quiet… better for the hunt.
"I don't know if staying with that clan is wise. At least two of those girls intend to destroy you. The other… I don't know nor do I think it wise to trust at your back in such a vulnerable time." Kan offered his assessment unasked in forest tongue. Kyera nodded settling into his rhythm. She had never ridden a brother, and found it almost disconcerting. Yet he seemed to be fine with it.
"I have to agree however I do worry if we leave them alone the Dark Ones may attack them and then we will have to answer for what happened." Kyera pointed out frowning softly at the predicament at hand. He sighed long, and deep. The action made Kyera shift with his body like a rocky ocean.
About then they noticed the three were waiting up. "We have been talking and think its best to split up for hour increments. We will set up camp in a hour, we should be at the site by then." Feya ordered and Kyera nodded. This made sense to her as well.
"Alright, that does sound like the safest way to do this. See you in an hour ladies." Kyera nodded at them and nudged Kan to walk away, not intending on listening to anything else they had to say. They watched as the Tigress and Fourth Princess disappeared into the underbrush.
"I don't like the thought of Lalia or the other Princess being alone in these woods. It's dangerous territory for humans. Without the knights, the forest is lawless." Kyera pointed out honestly uneasy. She had only agreed so easily because she was on Kan. Moving quietly and stalking humans was his specialty.
"Alright, we will stay nearby but the hunt will suffer if we are right up with them." Kan replied. breaking off the trail and taking her slightly down wind of the 3 princesses. They could smell them if they fell into danger, but could hunt without them causing trouble. "What type of prey are we hunting?"
"Stag, I think is safest." Kyera offered and he seemed to think a moment.
"Safest? I could handle protecting you against a wolf or even a bear if need be." He pointed out and Kyera knew it was true. Kan sounded as though she had hurt his pride and she realized he probably didn't understand her.
"There are few to no Stag shifters left, and the few that are wouldn't be with the Dark Ones because they are not good fighters." Kyera pointed out and Kan chuckled darkly.
