484 Camp Part 1

Name:The Tiger Within Author:Valinteena
The ladies were already settled in and relaxing at camp nearly an hour after the group split up when Kyera came into the clearing on Kan's back. Feya and the Third Princess were busy going through what they had brought for rations, while Lalia was restringing her bow. Kyera slid off Kan and led him over to the small tent that had been set up for her, as well as a simple stone table for skinning and cleaning prey.

Kan stared at the table then at Kyera wondering how she was going to get the juicy stagg on his back onto this table. She couldn't lift it, the doctor had said no lifting. Moments after they stopped the flap of the tent opened and two familiar faces emerged.

Cora and Lazren stepped out of the tent. "We are your tent assigned help, a guard and a healer." Lazren explained as he greeted Kyera with a low bow. Cora curtsied for a half second before walking over to begin examining Kyera's hands, arms, face, and overall color for any cause for concern.

"Thank you both, I will be in your care, friends." Kyera greeted them and patiently allowed Cora to do her checks. She even tested Kyera's pulse to make sure she was okay inside.

"You don't seem to have done any damage to yourself thus far." Cora concluded as Kan shifted under the weight of his burden. Lazren looked over, raising a brow having not been warned about the switch. However then his eyes lit up.

"Well that's surprising, first kill of the week goes to the Fourth Princess." Lazren announced as he walked to Kan. The other three Princesses looked up, seeing the guard moving a large stag onto the rock. The arrows had been removed from the hide, but Lazren clearly saw two holes. One in the shoulder, and the other a knife wound in the heart.

"Nice Kill, Kyera." Feya pretended to praise her, afterall she had to keep her image in tact. Kyera winced almost in perceivably. Lazren raised a brow but let it go.

"Thank You, Princess Feya. I just happened upon it on my way to camp. I couldn't give up the chance." Kyera replied with a graceful smile. The Third Princess, a young brunette with dark hair and dark eyes approached looking over the kill.

"Your shot was crap. I hope you finished the beastie quickly." She pointed out her voice hardened. "I hope this isn't representative of your skills, Fourth Princess."

"No, the stag spooked when I let loose the arrow. My arrow did not hit my mark. I managed to end his suffering seconds after he went down." Kyera replied, her tone filled with remorse and regret. The Third Princess's expression changed just a bit.

"You dare make excuses for this torture? You made a bad shot, but that isn't the victim's fault. You are unbelievable." Feya growled and Kyera didn't bite back. There was true sadness in her eyes as Feya scolded her. She didn't even try to argue back, afterall the stag had not died easily, what could she truly say?

"I see. I am Princess Kyera, though I am the fourth Princess here, your mother in law and the emperor refused to see me as such so I am here as Clovis's beauty and Princess of the Veil and Lands." She replied quite honestly. The girl raised a brow. Kyera wondered if she had caught that little detail in speech that the others seemed to miss.
