Chapter 362 - Bright Idea

"I'll have one of my men accompany you to the Soul Mast Tower and Pinnacle Tower," Docor said.

"Thank you, my lord!" Sylvia said, feeling grateful.

One of the men guarding the gate materialized in front of them.

Docor addressed him. "Bring the lady to Soul Mast Tower, and if she can't find what she's looking for there then bring her to the next tower. After she finished with her business on the two towers, bring her back to me," he commanded.

"Aye, my lord!" the man replied. He waved his hand in the air and a black chariot, a horsed drawn carriage appeared outside the dilapidated house.

The guy looked at Sylvia. "My lady, please enter the chariot so that we can begin our journey to the towers," he said..

Sylvia looked at Docor and said, "I'll go now, my lord."

"Enjoy the journey," Docor said and waved his hand.

Sylvia quickly entered the chariot.

A few moments later, the chariot was already floating in the air, heading to the two towers located in the far distance.

...

Back in the world of the living.

In deep thoughts, Nathan watched his mother's unconscious body and the body of the unconscious guy. Can his mother succeed in finding the guy's soul in the netherworld? And who will wake up first, his mother or the guy?

He rose to his feet and walked towards the door. When he exited the door, he saw the maid that assisted his mother in the ritual waiting outside. "Go inside and watched over them," he commanded.

"Aye, my lord!" the maidservant entered the room and the men shut the door.

Nathan walked into the hallway leading to the room of the old man.

When he entered the room, Terros was lying on the bed, staring at the ceiling. He stood up and faced him.

"My lord, how it's going?" Terros inquired.

"You mean the ritual to awaken your master's soul?" Nathan replied.

Terros nods his head. "Yes, my lord," he answered.

Nathan settled himself on the edge of the bed. "My mother's soul is currently travelling in the netherworld trying to find your master's soul. She might be gone for a few days," he replied.

"Ah, okay... thank you for replying to my question, my lord," Terros said. He was amazed by the power of that vampire woman, the fact that she can travel the land of the dead and return to the land of the living without problem is not an easy fate to achieve by anyone unless she has ties to the netherworld. The vampire woman is indeed a powerful enemy to be reckoned with. Madam Sylvia has lots of abilities hidden in her sleeve.

Nathan looked at the old man in the eyes. "Now that my mother is in a deep slumber. Would you willing to bring me to your lord's family?" he asked.

Shocked, Terros looked at the young lord. He thought he wasn't interested in the things that his mother pursued. "Why do you want to go there, my lord?" he asked.

"My mother old me to convince you while she's still sleeping," Nathan replied.

Terros released a deep sigh. "My lord, my answer is still the same. I'm sorry I can't bring you to my lord's manor, even if you have to kill me," he said unwaveringly.

Nathan smiled at the old man, amused by his devotion to his old master.

"My lord, are you going to force me to reveal to you my master's residence? Are you going to hurt me too?" Terros asked, wanting to know his plan.

Nathan shook his head. "No need to fear, I'm not like my mother. Rest assured that I won't hurt you just because you chose to be loyal to your old master," he said, trying to put the old man's mind at ease.

"My lord, thank you for your understanding when it comes to my decision of not telling you about my master's manor," Terros said. "By the way, when can I start serving you?" he added, trying to change the uncomfortable topic.

"After my mother wake's up, I will ask her permission to remove the chains on your hands and feet. But you must promise me one thing first... "Nathan said.

"What is it, my lord?" Terros asked.

"That you won't try to escape this place because if you do, once my mother caught you, she might kill you on the spot. Even if I intervene in your behalf to save you, she might not listen to me anymore. So, I warn you in advance, do not try to anger my mother again or else I can no longer save you," Nathan warned him.

"I'll keep in mind everything that you have told me today, my lord. Thank you for giving me a warning in advance," Terros said.

Nathan stood up. "Alright, I'll take my leave now. If you change your mind, just tell me anytime," he said and walked towards the door.

Terros watched the young lord leave the room and close the door behind him. He finally released his breath after Nathan was gone.

The young lord is a great mystery to him. He appears kind to him and yet he also had a hidden agenda, just like his mother.

Initially, he wants to start serving Lord Nathan so that he can study the whole place. The enemies are secretive and wise. Every time they transfer him to another place they would cover his face with a black garment to make sure that he can't see anything. He was sure that he can't find his way out if he will attempt to escape the place.

He had a suspicion that the whole property is huge and he needs to see and study every nook and cranny so that he can escape successfully along with Graven's body. As long they can leave the place safely, he can always bring Graven to the Windless Mountain and ask goddess Elva's help to restore his soul to his body.

He was feeling frustrated that until now, he can't still do anything when it comes to his plan of escape, especially that his power was still suppressed until now. He needs to gain the young lord's trust first, then familiarizes himself with the ins and outs of the manor before he plans to escape.

He can't wait for others to rescue them, it might take a long time.

Right now, what he feared the most is the cursed King's soul going to take over Graven's body and his memory, including his life. That would be the end of everything.

No!

He can't allow such a thing to happen!

He took a deep breath and shut his eyes. Just thinking about all these things gave him anxiety and worst he can't even do anything to help himself. It makes him even more frustrated while in captivity.

...

Menedelia's fortress.

She was tending to her vegetable garden outside the hut when the signal comes.

It's Zero!

She went inside the house, washed her hands in the kitchen sink, and changed her attire.

A few minutes later, she went to her room and from there, she teleported to the top of the hill.

When she landed on the hill, Zero was the only one she saw there, she was expecting to see Nini as well.

Zero was staring at the serene ocean, he turned around when he sensed Granny Menedelia's presence. "Granny, it's so nice to see you again..." he said with a smile.

Menedelia returned his smile and asked, "How are you, lad?"

"I'm fine, Granny," Zero replied and scratched his head. "I think, I should no longer call you granny because you're not that old. I'll call you, Aunt from now," he said.

Menedelia smiled in amusement. "You can call me anyway you want. Honestly, I don't mind," she said. "By the way, how's your wife? And how's the family cooping up with Evelyn's disappearance?" she asked.

Zero sighed. "Not good. Lord Tony is getting dispirited and always drinking liquor every night, he's a broken man after his wife disappeared," he replied.

"Ah, that is normal because the pain is still fresh. As days goes by, the lord will finally come to terms with his wife's disappearance and bounce back from his depression. Just give him time," Menedelia said.

Zero looked at her in the eye. "Aunt, I want to find my mother-in-law!" he declared.

"Me too, but I don't know where to start. The abandoned manor where Rigor and his family used to reside, no longer exist. Finding their territory all over the land is like finding a needle in a haystack. Honestly, its extremely difficult for us to find him at this point in time," Menedelia stated.

"I agree with your statement, Aunt," Zero replied sadly.

Silenced engulfed them for a while.

Both stared at the calm ocean below them, lost in their thoughts.

A few minutes later.

Zero spoke, "Aunt, do you remember that place where the ring brought us? Can you trace it in your memory? I think that is where that guy hides my mother-in-law. I tried many times to teleport myself back there but I failed each time. I'm perplexed, why I can't teleport there?" he asked in confusion.

"Yeah, I remember that place. I even tried to go back there as well using teleportation process but we suffered the same fate. We can't go back there! It seemed every time we try, we are blocked from entering it. I think it's a portal to another dimension and only a few people are allowed to enter that secluded place. Obviously, we are not allowed to go back there 'coz we might create chaos in that place," Menedelia explained.

Zero nods his head. "How about that threads of lights that rescued us? Can you send them back to that place and gathered information for us?" he suggested.

Menedelia smiled. "Ah, regarding the lights, unfortunately they are not animals that I can order around. They come out for a special reason of rescuing me but I can't order them to spy for me. I'm sorry, that is out of our options," she said.

"Never mind, Aunt. Let's just think of other ways to rescue my mother-in-law," Zero said.

They stayed for more than fifteen minutes at the top of the hill brainstorming on how to rescue Evelyn. In the end, they failed to find a better solution to their dilemma.

They decided to go home and agreed to inform one another if one day they can think of a brilliant idea on how to find Evelyn, the soonest possible time.
