Although Khaknur is extremely cowardly in nature, Rhash still wants to be safe as possible
It was not rare for the protagonists or even minor characters in some stories to come into harm because they didn't become careful enough
Rhash wants to prevent any danger from arriving as much as possible since both he and Reif were still too weak compared to the really strong people in this world
Using a contract scroll is a must and Rhash wouldn't be at ease unless the scroll was used
As a result, covered his palm with mana and although Khaknur is stronger, he still backed away from the kid
"Use the scroll or you won't have a good ending"
Khaknur whimpered and he stared at Rhash with tears gathering in his eyes, in an attempt to gain sympathy
If it was just Khaknur's head, it might cause a ripple in Rhash's heart
However, aside from the infant-like head of Khaknur, the rest of his body was entirely made from spider legs
He looks really creepy and disgusting as if Khaknur was created to give some horror to the kids every Halloween
With him trying to act pitiful, it didn't arouse Rhash's sympathy. It only makes him want to puke
"Remove those tears or I'll make sure you will shed genuine ones" Rhash said without any shred of mercy causing Khaknur to pout
His little act with the hopes of gaining pity didn't work. It was too ineffective to the stone-hearted Rhash
"The scroll, give it to me now" Rhash hold out his arm, and this time, Khaknur don't have a choice anymore and a piece of brown scroll materializes in front of him
"H-here" Khaknur reluctantly gave the scroll to Rhash while making sure to look as pitiful as possible
It may look impossible but who knows? Perhaps, Rhash might really feel some sympathy for him
Without standing in a ceremony, Rhash took the scroll. It gave off mana fluctuations that are of the highest quality that Rhash ever felt
He had never sensed a B rank adventurer's full power. The scroll was the first b rank power that entered his senses aside from Khaknur
The spider is excluded since when he appeared, he didn't let out his full aura. If he does that, it was highly likely that he would be able to suppress both Rhash and Reif
Rhash focused on the work at hand as he uses mana to write in the scroll before he enacted the plan that he brewed in his mind as soon as he learned who the enemy was
When Rhash finished writing, his body stiffened and he looked in a certain direction with a fearful look on his face
"What? What is happening?" Khaknur asked out of panic. He loves his life so much that even the slightest sign of danger would cause him to panic and have the desire to flee
"Not good! Sign the scroll and let's evacuate from here!" Rhash shouted and Khaknur flinched
The little spider that loves his life didn't realize that this was just a mere ploy. He draws out some blood from his legs and uses it to sign the scroll
Rhash also did the same and the scroll's 'spirit' came out from its body before it was torn in half
One piece entered Khaknur's body and the other one entered Rhash that binds them on the agreement inside the scroll
"W-where should we flee? Hurry!"
Despite not sensing any danger, Khaknur was still fooled. Even until now, he still didn't realize it
"Hehehehe" Rhash can't help but chuckle evilly after seeing how panic the spider was
"What are you laughing for?! This is no laughing matter! We can die!"
What a poor little spider. Rhash can't help but shook his head while feeling how evil he was for deceiving such a naive creature
Too bad that for the 'bigger picture', Rhash needs to do this
"There is no danger, I lied" Rhash spoke the truth and the little spider tilted his human head to the side
"Why?" Khaknur still hasn't realized what is wrong. He only did when Rhash puts the scroll in front of Khaknur
"Read it" Rhash said and Khaknur did as what he was told
The more he reads, the paler his face becomes
"Y-you tricked me! T-this is basically a slave contract!"
Indeed, Rhash turned the Contract Scroll into a slave contract where he is the master and Khaknur is the slave
The scroll basically states that Khaknur can never harm Rhash, Reif, and anyone that the two don't want to get hurt
Khaknur as the slave also needs to do whatever Rhash and Reif told him to do. If not, then he should say goodbye to his dear life
"You cruel kid! How could you trick me like this! I hate you!"
The spider threw a tantrum like a child and since Rhash isn't that cruel, he decided to comfort the little spider
"Now, now, don't be like that. As long as you listen to me, I won't mistreat you, alright?"
Even though Rhash viewed the world negatively, he still won't hurt anyone just because he wants to
Of course, he wouldn't think twice before hurting anyone for the 'bigger picture' but he would have his reason to do that
He doesn't necessarily enjoy torturing anyone and since Khaknur is now his slave, he wouldn't treat him badly as long as the spider listened to him
"A-are you speaking the truth?" The spider asked with tears in his eyes. His survival ability is really great
After the initial anger, he realizes that he needs to be on the good side of his new masters if he doesn't want to have a miserable life
"Of course, I'll even take you to see things you haven't seen before. If you work hard, I'll reward you handsomely and in the future, I guarantee that you'll become stronger than you are now!"
Rhash threw his bait. From the stories he had read, there are parts there that a slave wouldn't be a good slave if they do work against their will
Even if they were to listen to their master, if they don't really like whatever they were doing, they would be mediocre at best
Only the slaves that are exerting a hundred percent of their efforts are the best!
"R-really? You can help me with that?"
Rhash nodded his head at that. "I know the location of some precious resources. In the future, we will take those treasures!"
In some sense, Reif also has some luck in him. Encountering a special treasure is not that rare of an occurrence for him
However, it would end up in few scenarios. The first is that it would cause a huge fight with a lot of casualties and the blame for all the deaths would fall on Reif's shoulder
There are a lot of strong families and organizations that want him dead for the death of their members
The more Reif resisted, the more he killed and the more people think of him as evil
The second scenario was that he would obtain the treasure but it also would cause him to be chased by enemies
Thirdly... Rhash is already angry just by thinking of it
The third scenario was that the bastard Child of God would also try to get the treasure. Whether Reif got the treasure or not, he would still be viewed negatively by fighting against the Church
His life was simply pitiful and full of downs with little to no ups
But for the sake of power, Rhash would surely take the precious treasures that he can still remember as they would become his and Reif's weapons
"Treasures? Where?" Khaknur almost salivated. If there are treasures out there that can preserve his life, he would want to obtain it
"Not now but soon. Guide us to your hideout first. My precious gem needs a rest" Rhash said pertaining to Reif that was watching the situation unfold with both amazement and sadness
Reif was overjoyed at how his big brother deals with the situation. Not only did they become safe, they even got a 'comrade' that is stronger than both of them combined
However, Reif was also saddened by the fact that he once again, he wasn't able to do anything. The situation was resolved by Rhash even though he wants to help
Rhash can already imagine the thoughts swirling inside Reif's head and he carried the kid into his arms
Reif yelped loudly at that. "Big Brother, I can move!"
Since the oxygen level returned to normal, Reif only needs a bit of rest but he can now move properly already
"You did great today. If you didn't help me deal with the spiders, I wouldn't hold out until I realized who our enemy was" Rhash said to comfort Reif but it also contained the truth
Reif also killed a lot of the spiders, it gave Rhash some room for thinking until he learned that Khaknur is their enemy
