No, it was because the Crown Prince,, had often arrived late at their meet-ups. Sometimes he would be late for hours, making up all kinds of excuses to Lady Melissa on why he was late.
Though the reasons weren't logical at all, Lady Melissa had always believed him every single time. She had never once doubted him nor his reasons. Even though his reasons were 'stupid' and 'unbelievable'.
'How was I so blind?'
Lady Melissa tried to hide a tear of hers that was on the edge of falling off of her face.
Lady Melissa realized how much time she had spent moping around, crying like a fool.
She needed to leave the Shayla estate NOW, or else she might arrive late for her meeting with Duke Gaston Berniece Mieth,
And Lady Melissa would NEVER allow herself to be late when it was a meet-up or perhaps, a gathering unless it was of a person she had disliked or even hated.
She had made exceptions just for the people she hated, though she hadn't hate or disliked anyone in her second life yet, except for the Crown Prince, of course.
Lady Melissa's grudge against the Crown Prince was so deep that she was sure no matter how many times she was reborn, she would still harbor negative feelings towards the Crown Prince.
Lady Melissa quickly ran down the stairs with her high heels while holding the edges of her dress.
It was quite a sight to behold, and she looked like a clown juggling themselves on a unicycle.
After a few seconds of sprinting in Lady Melissa's high heels and holding the edges of her dress all at the same time.
She finally reached the end of the staircase safely before being met with the door leading outside of the Shayla estate.
Lady Melissa raced to the carriage that was just a few feet in front of her before opening it and being met with her maid Sophia.
Sophia being the kind maid and person she was, offered a hand towards Lady Melissa.
Lady Melissa gratefully accepted Sophia's help, as she didn't have any more energy to bring herself up towards the carriage.
And she was too tired to care.
"Tell the driver to bring us to the dessert shop La Vien En Rose."
Lady Melissa ordered Sophia.
All that running in high heels was already tiring enough for her.
Though luckily, her feet didn't seem to receive any blisters. It was all thanks to the socks she had worn.
Luckily, she remembered to wear them, or she would have ended up with a limping foot.
Blisters were a pain in the ass for everyone, and Lady Melissa was no exception to it.
Lady Melissa was left daydreaming once again while looking out at the window.
Luckily, she had gained the window seat, and it was time for her inner main character side to show up!
Lady Melissa would've loved to be the main character of something, be it a play, a drama, or even a book she wouldn't mind.
She didn't want to be forgotten when she died, and she wanted everyone to know her, not only her family members.
She wanted to be famous, live her life and have everyone mourn her when she had passed away, and she wanted to be someone everyone would remember, someone like Michael Jackson.
She wanted to be someone everybody would know, no matter how many years it would pass, no matter race, gender, or religion, and she wanted everyone to know her.
She wanted everyone to respect her and remember her.
Though it was called a dream of hers, she knew better than that, and she knew she probably wouldn't be able to achieve such a thing.
But a girl can hope, right?
Lady Melissa knew better than anyone, and it was impossible for her to be remembered like that.
But Lady Melissa Mendy Shayla's broken the impossible once, so a second time shouldn't be too hard.
"Lady Melissa, we're here!"
Sophia called out to Lady Melissa, waving her hands right in front of Lady Melissa's face to snap Lady Melissa from her trance.
After a few more seconds of doing so, Lady Melissa had finally realized that her maid Sophia was waving her hands in front of her, and Lady Melissa realized that they had arrived at her destination.
La Vien En Rose.
The one everybody had been talking about for WEEKS.
The dessert shop Lady Melissa had been DYING to taste.
"Wait for me outside here Sophia, I'll be back in an hour or two, or maybe less."
Lady Melissa had a veryeager look in her eyes, and she was VERY keen to walk into that dessert shop and try out ALL of their desserts.
Sophia complied with her mistress' wishes, leaving her alone in the carriage once again.
Well, there were other carriages around the area with other nobles' maids and servants, but Sophia was too lazy to socialize; she'd much rather spend her free time sleeping and eating rather than socializing.
Besides, all you need in life is just eat, sleep, work and repeat, right?
And it wasn't like anything bad would happen if Sophia just fell asleep, right? After all, she had a long day, and the area was well protected with many guards surrounding it.
Plus the area was crowded, so there wasn't much of a chance of anything dangerous happening.
Sophia eased all her doubts before plopping down the carriage and falling asleep.
