"Oh, we used some magic to arrive here quickly. It turns out the people who had lived around the area used magic for transportation, so they helped send us quickly in our carriage. It's a little difficult to explain."
The Duchess explained, confusing Lady Melissa.
"So basically, they transported you and dad and the carriage?"
Lady Melissa asked, her face confused.
"Yeah...I guess you could put it that way."
The Duchess replied.
"Anyways, how was everything these past few days we went? Met anyone new?"
"Oh, actually, I just arrived back from a tea party at the Mendora estate."
Lady Melissa replied.
"Oh really?"
The Duchess said, with a big smirk on her face.
"Yeah."
"Yayyy!"
The Duchess said, making a small yippie sound.
"Dearie, we should leave her be for a few hours. She's just been to a tea party. I'm sure she's tired."
The Duke said to his wife.
"Oh yeah, your right."
The duchess responded, her head nodding in agreement.
"Go ahead to your room and get some rest. I'll ask one of the servants or maids to send dinner to your room."
The Duchess thoughtfully said.
'Thank you, father and mother, I shall retreat and go upstairs to my room."
Lady Melissa said before bowing her head down and going upstairs, soon being followed after by Sophia.
Lady Melissa rushed up the stairs, opening her room door before getting into bed and plopping on it.
Sophia followed after she knocked on the bedroom door first.
"Hello Lady Melissa, it's me, Sophia. Can you let me in?"
Lady Melissa, still on her bed, replied.
"Sure, Sophia, come in."
Sophia came in just a few seconds after.
"I came here to thank you for the desserts and sweets you bought me."
Sophia soon bowed her head down.
Lady Melissa immediately stood up from her bed.
"You don't have to do that, Sophia. Besides, I wanted to give you something because you deserve it. Now stand up."
Sophia stood up, her head not bowing down anymore.
In an instant she went back to her usual attitude, playful and fun.
"Still though, thank you, Lady Melissa."
Sophia said, giving Lady Melissa a playful wink.
"Oh yeah, before I forget Lady Melissa, you have to write Lady Celine a letter about the dress she lent you."
"OHHH YEAH!"
Lady Melissa shouted.
"Thanks for reminding me!"
Lady Melissa said, thanking Sophia.
"No problem, Lady Melissa. However, I should go now. I have other matters to deal with if you don't mind?"
Sophia asked, eager to get back into work.
"Sure, ba-bye Sophia!"
Lady Melissa waved to Sophia.
'Great, now I have to write a letter to Lady Celine.'
'Should I do it now or later? Besides, I haven't even showered....'
'I'll take a shower and then write the letter then.'
Lady Melissa thought.
Lady Melissa went into her dressing room, quickly choosing some comfortable pyjamas for the night before heading into the bathroom.
She turned on the faucet for the bathtub, putting one of the many bath bombs she had in it.
Today was a rough day for her. Thus the bath bombs were for her rough days.
'I should light some of the scented candles too, and it'll help me relax.'
Lady Melissa thought before choosing one of her many scented candles and deciding for one of them.
She took a lighter before lighting up the scented candle, putting it in one of the empty places.
Lady Melissa waited for the bathtub's water to be filled up, standing in the mirror and looking at herself.
All of a sudden, the image of the woman's dismembered body had appeared in the mirror, and it, had replaced the image of herself.
Lady Melissa felt this uncomfortable sensation, looking back, afraid that the murderer was behind her.
'Breathe in and breathe out, Melissa, you're at home. He won't be able to find you here.'
Lady Melissa tried her best to comfort herself, but it was to no avail.
Lady Melissa tried closing her eyes, thinking it would help her, but when she closed her eyes, she could see the vivid image of the man's creepy smile while dismembering the woman's body.
After a few more attempts of trying to comfort herself, Lady Melissa knew that trying to comfort herself wouldn't be able to work.
'Think Melissa! Think!'
All of a sudden, Lady Melissa had an idea on the top of her head, and she might know what to do.
'Okay, five things you can see, four things you can touch, three things you can hear, two things you can smell and one thing you can taste.'
(This is a method I use a lot when I need to distract myself, feel free to try it!)
Lady Melissa thought, trying her best to distract herself from thinking of the...incident.
'Okay, five things I can see, the girl's dismembered body, the candles, the mirror, myself and flames.'
'Okay, good job Melissa. Now think of four things that you can touch right now.'
The small inside voice in Lady Melissa's head said.
'Four things I can touch is the candle, the mirror, the faucet, and the sink.'
'Three things I can hear is the voices of the maids talking to each other, the water filling the bathtub, and the birds chirping.
'Two things I can smell , uhhh the candle burning and the smell of blood from earlier.'
'Okay good just one more thing.'
'One thing I can taste.'
'The salty tears on my face.'
Lady Melissa had successfully ended up distracting herself, and although it was at the back of her head she wasn't as scared as earlier.
Lady Melissa then realized that the water on her bathtub was overflowing she quickly ran and closed the water.
Lady Melissa drenched some of the water out so it wouldn't overflow any more.
'How could I have not heard of the water overflowing?'
Lady Melissa questioned herself.
She let out a sigh.
'I'll just get in the bathtub now for a nice relaxing session.'
Lady Melissa thought to herself before getting into the bathtub.
"Ah!'
Lady Melissa flinched, she was surprised at the water's being so hot, but after a few seconds in the bathtub she was comfortable with it, not paying any heed to the burning hot temperature.
'This is nice.'
Lady Melissa thought to herself, happy that she could finally relax after the long day she had.
