Sophia said with a sly smirk on her face.
"Fine...."
Lady Melissa said, rolling her eyes.
"Let's just walk to the carriage now, Lady Melissa. I doubt we have enough energy to run there."
"Well, you are right. I guess we should walk."
"Where did you go just now, Lady Melissa? You know I was worried sick, right?"
Sophia said, her face quickly turning scared and angry at the same time.
"I saw a cute little dog just now and wanted to pet it, but it ran away, so I chased it, and then I got lost."
Lady Melissa said, partially telling Sophia the truth.
"You should've told me next time!"
Sophia put her hand on her face, disapproving of Lady Melissa's actions.
"I was worried sick, you know..."
Sophia said with a sad look on her face.
"Hey, Sophia, I promise next time I'll tell you in advance, alright? If not, I'll take you out to eat in any restaurant you want!"
In an instant, Sophia's face lit up, excited at the mention of the restaurant.
Sophia nodded her head multiple times in agreement.
"Now, let's go and head to the carriage, okay? It's only going to take a few minutes till we reach there."
Lady Melissa said, and Sophia nodded her head.
After a few more minutes of walking, the both of them had finally arrived at the carriage.
"Oh, hello, Lady Melissa and Sophia!"
The driver greeted the both of them.
"Hi, so how is the carriage?"
Lady Melissa asked, specifically not including the driver's name because she forgot it.
"Oh yeah, the carriage it's almost done, Lady Melissa. Just give me a few minutes. You can wait in the carriage in the meantime."
The driver said, motioning his hands to the carriage.
"Alright then, please make sure to inform us if it's done."
Lady Melissa said before opening the carriage door.
Sophia quickly opened her side of the carriage door as well before plopping down and sitting.
"How were the french fries just now, Sophia? I must apologize for giving you so little; I'll make sure to buy you more next time."
Lady Melissa whispered to Sophia. After all, the carriage wasn't soundproof, and the driver was right behind them.
"Oh, those? Don't worry about it, Lady Melissa, though I don't mind if you do buy me more..."
Sophia said with an excited smile on her face.
Lady Melissa sarcastically rolled her eyes.
"Anyways, Lady Melissa, when are you going to meet up with Duke Gaston next?"
Sophia said, her eyes shining.
"I don't know."
Lady Melisssa bluntly responded.
"How can you not know-? Lady Melissa need me to remind you that the both of you are business partners?"
Sophia said, wiggling her eyes.
Lady Melissa didn't reply, and instead, all she did was roll her eyes at Sophia's comment.
"Anyways, Sophia, have you tried any of the desserts and cakes I bought for you?"
Lady Melissa asked.
"Oh YEAHHH, you reminded me! Thanks for the reminder, Lady Melissa!"
Sophia whispered shouted to Lady Melissa.
Quickly Sophia took the desserts and sweets on the floor of the carriage. None of the sweets or desserts had actually touched the floor, though since there was a plastic cup at the outer layer of the desserts and sweets.
Sophia picked up the sweets and desserts on the carriage door quickly before putting them beside her.
She opened one of the dessert wrappings and her eyes beamed in joy and happiness.
"THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS, LADY MELISSA!"
Sophia said, looking as if she was going to bawl her eyes out at any second.
Lady Melissa made a shush noise before pointing behind her and whispering to Sophia.
"No problem."
Sophia quickly realized her mistake, and an audible gasp left her lips.
"Sorry, Lady Melissa."
Sophia whispered, her face looking sad.
"No, it's fine."
Lady Melissa said, smiling at her.
Lady Melissa and Sophia could hear footsteps coming from beside the carriage.
Suddenly the carriage door was open, and it revealed the driver.
"Done, Lady Melissa!"
He cheerfully said.
"Alright, let's go home then!"
Lady Melissa ordered the driver.
The driver nodded his head before getting back to his seat.
Lady Melissa quickly closed the carriage door, and within a few seconds, the carriage had started to move again.
"Don't choke or anything Sophia."
Lady Melissa said as Sophia was wolfing down the desserts.
"Don't worry, Lady Melissa! I won't choke!"
Sophia said, her mouth was full of food.
Lady Melissa, however, seemed very much unconvinced that Sophia wouldn't choke on her food.
Lady Melissa averted her gaze from Sophia to the window beside her, seeing the scenery change every second.
Each time a second had passed, Lady Melissa started to get more and more sleepy.
Before quickly dozing off.
A few more minutes, however, she was awakened to someone shaking her body.
"Hey, Lady Melissa! Wake up! We're home."
Sophia said, casually whisper shouting as she didn't want to scare off Lady Melissa.
"Huh- What?"
Lady Melissa said, shaking her head and scratching her hands.
"We're here at the Shayla estate."
Sophia repeated once more, thinking that Lady Melissa didn't catch what she had said the first time.
"Oh, okay then."
Lady Melissa stood up from the carriage, quickly opening the door.
Lady Melissa immediately opened the doors, not being able to wait to reach her room and chill for the day.
However she was surprised, she didn't think that anybody would be greeting her, much less the people who were right in front of her!
"Hi, Melissa!"
Lady Melissa's mother shouted, hugging her almost immediately the moment Lady Melissa went through the doors.
"Hello to you too, mother."
Lady Melissa bluntly replied.
"Hi, Melissa."
The Duke said, waving a little to Lady Melissa, who was still being hugged to death by her mother.
Lady Melissa waved back to her father with a smile.
"I thought the business trip was supposed to be for a week? How'd the both of you arrive so quickly back home?"
Lady Melissa asked.. Although she was very much thrilled at her parent's return, she was very much curious as well.
