After around 15-20 minutes of walking down the mountain, Lady Melissa was starting to get tired, her legs aching from the tiring walk; it didn't help that she didn't wear sporting shoes.
Instead, she wore something similar to flip flops, yet at the same time, it matched her look.
Lady Melissa saw a rock nearby, walking closer to it to sit down and take a little break.
'What should I do now….'
Lady Melissa thought, not knowing what to do; after all, she had completely forgotten she didn't know where they would meet.
Out of the corner of her eye, Lady Melissa saw a card.
For some reason, Lady Melissa took the card; just something attracted her to the card, convincing her to take it.
Lady Melissa flipped the other side of the card, and it was an arrow pointing straight; confused, Lady Melissa went to a straight line.
And not long after, she spotted another card, flipping it open this time, it led left. And so Lady Melissa followed the card, over and over again.
After a while of following the card, Lady Melissa was led to the capital.
Which was, surprisingly quick, she had never ever reached the capital this quickly, and by foot no less.
Lady Melissa walked and walked, yet somehow she couldn't find any more of the cards.
Suddenly someone started talking to Lady Melissa.
"3 PM?"
The person in a black coat said to Lady Melissa.
"Yes."
Lady Melissa quickly replied, hiding all the cards she had picked up earlier under her black coat.
The person in the black coat led Lady Melissa to a dark alleyway, and then a few more turns were taken before Lady Melissa, and the person had finally reached a destination.
The person in the black coat knocked on the door, and a voice had responded in an instance.
"Good afternoon, this is Benny's bar; what can I get for the both of you?"
A man opened the door, greeting both Lady Melissa and the person in the black coat.
"We'd like a seat."
The person in the black coat said, and the employee quickly led the both of them to an empty table.
"Here you go, and here's the menu; just ring this bell if you want to order."
The employee said, about to leave the both of them.
"Actually we'd like a Adios Motherfucker."
(this is an actual drink that I somehow stumbled upon)
The person in the black coat said, and immediately the employees face changed.
"Right this way."
The employee led the both of them to the back of the bar, where only employees were allowed.
The employee left, leaving only Lady Melissa and the person in the black coat.
"Right this way."
The man in the black coat said, leading Lady Melissa to one of the many doors.
"I'll go now, the boss wouldn't be happy if he saw me."
The man in the black coat said, before disappearing.
Lady Melissa slowly opened the door handle, not knowing what to expect, after all it could be an ambush.
Suprisingly enough, it wasn't an ambush. She was greeted by a man, wearing a black coat as well, and he was wearing a mask as well to cover his face.
"Good afternoon, you look splendid as always Lady Melissa."
The man said.
Lady Melissa took a dagger from under her thigh, quickly pointing it at the man.
"Take off the mask, or else you'll regret not taking it off."
Lady Melissa threatened.
Surprisingly the man didn't panic, instead he slowly opened his mask and lo and behold, it was Duke Mason Theaddus Trafford.
"What a fine afternoon it is for you to be threatening me, Ladyme, Lady Melissa."
Duke Mason sarcastically said.
"And what a fine afternoon it is for you to be stalking me."
"I wasn't stalking you Lady Melissa, one of my aids simply put those cards because we knew you'd probably try and escape the Shayla estate."
Duke Mason explained.
"Proof. Give me proof you weren't stalking me."
Lady Melissa said.
"How do you expect me to give you proof-?"
Duke Mason said, confused.
"Don't ask your aids to follow me the next time I go somewhere, it was hard for me to lose them you know."
Lady Melissa said, rolling her eyes.
"Wow, I'm impressed you noticed, looks like I need to give you more credit."
Duke Mason said, clapping his hands.
"Cut the bullshit Duke Mason, what is it that you really want?"
Lady Melissa said, putting her dagger up Duke Mason's throat.
"Nothing, I just want you."
Duke Mason said, his green eyes unwavering as he stated down Lady Melissa.
"If you want me you know you can always try, by not stalking me."
Lady Melissa said.
"Fine,I'll stop stalking you if you stop putting this dagger up against my throat. Deal?"
Duke Mason said, proposing a deal to Lady Melissa.
"Give me that watch on your wrist and we'll call it a deal."
Lady Melissa said pointing to the watch on Duke Mason's wrist.
Duke Mason assumed Lady Melissa wanted it for herself, so he quickly took the watch and handed it over to her.
"Here you go."
Duke Mason said, giving Lady Melissa the watch.
Finally, Lady Melissa put the dagger back under her thigh, though it was stained with a little bit of Duke Mason's blood.
"We weren't even five minutes in and you had already put a dagger up my throat."
Duke Mason said, rolling his eyes.
Lady Melissa quickly took the dagger under her thigh, about to press it up against Duke Mason's throat again.
"I was joking Lady Melissa."
Duke Mason nervously said.
"I'm not so sure about that."
Lady Melissa replied, omnimously holding the dagger in her hand acting as if she was going to stab someone.
"Actually hit me with your best shot Lady Melissa I'd like to see you in action."
Duke Mason said, giving Lady Melissa a flirtatious wink.
"Well if you insist, don't mind if I do."
Lady Melissa said, now acting seriously.
