Lady Melissa suddenly remembered about Baron Kevin, where was he anyways? Was he perhaps held hostage by the man?
After all, it wasn't too far off of a theory for the man to be holding Baron Kevin hostage considering he attacked Lady Melissa.
The man was the same one she had seen murder the woman last time too, she quickly assumed that he was Jack The Ripper in a matter of seconds, after all the evidence was all pointing to him, there was no other answer.
Lady Melissa was however quickly snapped from her thoughts as she was almost hit by the man's knife, luckily for her she had managed to catch it in time.
Lady Melissa quickly decided that this wasn't the time to be thinking of Baron Kevin's safety, she could do that later.
All she should do right now was to focus on the fight, after all she didn't want to end up with a bloody body.
Correction, she didn't want to end up with her bloody body, she wouldn't mind it that much if it was someone else's….
Lady Melissa kept throwing kicks and punches to the man, yet somehow he had skillfully dodged each and every one of them.
Which had surprised Lady Melissa, though she quickly brushed it off, and continued to focus on the fight once more.
The reason why it had surprised Lady Melissa was because of how skillfully the man had dodged her punches and kicks.
If he had just dodged them normally she would simply shrug it off, but he dodged it uniquely doing cartwheels while at it.
Which was actually an amusing sight. If she were to die, she couldn't think of a better way for it than this.
Imagine her dying by a few cartwheels or somersaults, that would be a sight to see for both the public and the police.
After much more punches and kicks that Lady Melissa had tried to give to the man, he was still as energetic as ever.
Dodging each one of Lady Melissa's punches and kicks as skillfully as ever, while Lady Melissa was starting to get tired.
She could've sworn an hour had passed with the amount of punches and kicks she had given to the man.
Yet for some reason he was still as energetic as ever, which irritated Lady Melissa.
Lady Melissa could feel her patience dropping by the second, and her annoyance and irritation for the man increasing by the second.
Like why did he have to skillfully dodge each one of her punches and kicks? It annoyed the shit out of her.
Lady Melissa however, although she was starting to get more and more exhausted by every minute that had passed.
She still pushed on though, giving the man kicks and punches from every side she could see an opening.
After many many MANY more punches and kicks Lady Melissa had given the man, she had one that he wasn't able to dodge.
At this point Lady Melissa was exhausted and drained on another level, she had never had a duel or fight with someone that had been this long and mentally and physically taxing.
Not even with her own swordsmanship teacher, after all her teacher usually focused on her mistakes and tried to give tips on ways she could improve.
On the rare occasions they would duel, but it was never as taxing as this.
Or maybe it was the sleep deprived and tiredness that caught Lady Melissa.
After all, it was probably 3 or 4 AM right now, and she was exhausted from both dodging and trying to hit and punch the man repeatedly over and over and over.
After Lady Melissa landed a punch on the man she started to get a little bit more awake, though she quickly went back to being exhausted and mentally and physically drained in a matter of minutes.
After her other punches and kicks were all dodged by the man.
Lady Melissa let out a yawn, trying to keep herself focused on the fight, she didn't want to end up with a broken bone, or a few broken bones.
Lady Melissa was already sleepy, and with every second that had kept passing by she was getting more and more sleepy.
A bunch of footsteps were heard from behind Lady Melissa.
Lady Melissa who was confused, looked back, perhaps it was finally Baron Kevin?
Maybe he had finally brought some back-up to help her with the man?
Lady Melissa looked back, and to her surprise, it was none of those.
Instead it was Duke Mason, walking slowly in a nice suit, and for some strange reason he had a hat on.
The man was confused as well, but he quickly regained his senses while Lady Melissa was still confused on why Duke Mason was even here in the first place.
In that split second Lady Melissa's mind went blank and she let her guard down, the man quickly took advantage of it, using his knife to hit her beating heart.
Fortunately for Lady Melissa, she quickly blocked the knife from hitting her heart, or else it would've ended very badly.
Duke Mason stood just a few steps from the both of them, putting his hand inside of his jacket.
To reveal a gun, as he pointed at the man, just about to shoot him in the leg, so that he and Lady Melissa would be able to capture him and perhaps put him in jail.
However before Duke Mason could even load the gun, the man had taken Lady Melissa as hostage, as Lady Melissa had spent a few seconds glancing at Duke Mason.
Unfortunately, this time, Lady Melissa wasn't able to dodge the man, and she would have escaped, until the man took a GUN from his jacket as well.
Something was telling Lady Melissa not to escape from the man or else she would be murdered with a gun.
After all, the man had already murdered someone once before, who was to say he wouldn't do it again?
The man loaded the gun, putting the gun right beside her ear.
It felt as if time had stopped for Lady Melissa, she could hear the man making remarks about Duke Mason, and she could hear her heart beating, afraid that she was going to die.
Tears slowly welled up in her eyes, she didn't want to die, she was too young to, and she hadn't even killed the Crown Prince yet.
The man noticed this, quickly laughing at Lady Melissa before he threatened Duke Mason.
"Put the gun down, or else I'll shoot her."
The man said, as his fingers were about to pull the trigger.
Lady Melissa's eyes glanced at Duke Mason, as if she was desperately hoping that he would drop the gun down.
Duke Mason, was conflicted, but after seeing Lady Melissa's helpless face, he knew he had to make a choice, or else he would regret.
"I'll put the gun down!"
Duke Mason shouted, immediately dropping the gun on the ground, hoping that the man would put down his gun as well, and released Lady Melissa.
"You're dumber than I thought."
The man replied, his fingers already halfway on pulling the trigger.
Duke Mason's eyes shot up, as he quickly ran to the man, hoping that he wouldn't be too late.
Lady Melissa could feel her life flashing before her eyes, and all kinds of memories flooded through her head.
One from which she had first entered this world, another from which she had first met Duke Mason, and also another about the Crown Prince.
Lady Melissa closed her eyes, a smile on her face, trying to calm herself down and come to terms with the fact that she would be dead in a few seconds.
"Thank you."
Lady Melissa said, closing her eyes just as the moment the gun was shot.
