"So a week or two after the ball where we had talked to each other regarding the Crown Prince?"

Lady Melissa asked, wanting to clarify to Duke Mason whether what she was saying was truly right or wrong.

"Yes, I believe it was around that time he had found out about my identity of being a Duke because of an incident."

Duke Mason said, as he furrowed his eyebrows putting his right hand on his chin, thinking hard of the incident to recall more accurate details about it.

"If I may know, how did Lasson even find out about your identity in the first place? I know you said that he had accidentally found out, but how?"

Lady Melissa asked, dying to know how Lassson had found out about Duke Mason's identity.

"Well, I was under disguise, in a bar to meet up with a business partner for the guild and I was a little drunk, and it turns out Lasson had been following me, the guy ended up punching me and my cloak fell off midway of the fight and he saw my face."

Duke Mason said, explaining to Lady Melissa how Lasson had found out about his identity and what the both of them had been doing.

"Apologies to interrupt the both of you, but I would just like to say that it has been ten minutes."

Lasson said, suddenly appearing outside the window, sitting on a tree branch.

"Oh, yes, my apologies for keeping you here so long Lady Melissa. I shall let you go now, or you might as well never come back home."

Duke Mason said, sending her a wink as he let out a smile.

"I shall see you next time Duke Mason, I hope you have a pleasant day."

Lady Melissa said, bowing her head a bit before turning to Lasson who had already bent down, waiting for Lady Melissa to hop on.

The moment Lady Melissa jumped on, Lasson immediately stood up, leaving the window as he started to walk outside, carrying Lady Melissa.

"How was it?"

Lasson asked, curious to know how Lady Melissa and Duke Mason's meet up was.

"Excuse me but could you please repeat that."

Lady Melissa said, wanting to make sure she wasn't hearing things wrongly and that Lasson really asked her how meeting the Duke was like.

Lasson didn't exactly seem as if he was fond of her, thus Lady Melissa thought he would probably not be chatting with her much less strike up a conversation or question with her.

"How was meeting Duke Mason?"

Lasson asked once more, repeating his question, this time asking the question louder.

"It was fun and we had spent a lot of time together chatting and conversing in many different topics."

Lady Melissa said as she touched her pocket, making sure that the small piece of paper Duke Mason had earlier given to her was still there, and that she had not lost it somewhere.

"That is good to hear."

Lasson said, as the conversation quickly came to an end.

Lady Melissa, sensing the tension between the two of them, decided that since Lasson had tried to strike up a conversation with her, she would do the same for him.

"I heard your name was Lasson."

Lady Melissa said, telling Lasson that she had heard about his name.

"How very unfortunate of me, but if you must know. Yes my name is Lasson."

Lasson sarcastically replied to Lady Melissa.

"If I may ask, how old are you? Since I can't tell with that- hiding your whole appearance and everything."

Lady Melissa said, using her fingers to point at Lasson's clothes that were covering up everything except his hair and eyes.

"Well, I do not know my age."

Lasson said, quickly replying to Lady Melissa's question.

"What do you mean?"

Lady Melissa asked, confused, before realizing what Lasson had meant.

He was probably an orphan, without any parents and thus he had to survive life on his own. He did not have time to think about his age if he was too busy trying to even get through the day. Lady Melissa thought, immediately feeling guilty for asking Lasson such a question.

"Why do you work for Duke Mason?"

Lady Melissa asked, curious to know what the reason was for Lasson to be working for Duke Mason.

Lasson quickly cleared his throat as he came up with an answer.

"I have to admit that I originally worked for Duke Mason for money, but then I started to grow more attached to him and I guess I just wanted to serve Duke Mason as my master."

Lasson said, explaining to Lady Melissa why he had worked for Duke Mason.

"I was inspired by him, seeing how many lives he had saved, and how many more he had killed. He does not murder people who are not worthy of it of course. He makes an attempt to serve justice for the public, when corrupt police cannot."

Lanson said, continuing his explanation from earlier on why he had worked for Duke Mason.

"I apologize your grace, I spoke out of turn."

Lasson said, apologizing to Lady Melissa as he had just realized what he told her.

"No, it is completely alright. Though I find you amazing, how is it that you are able to be inspired by someone?"

Lady Melissa asked, her face in bewilderment, she had never been inspired by someone to strive to be better.

Her parents, as amazing and loving as they were, had never really inspired her, yes they did helped her to work harder and everything but they had never inspired her. She admired their work and thought of them to be amazing considering the jobs they do, but she was never inspired by them.

"Well...I didn't know how I got inspired as well. I had seen other nobles donating to charities, and helping the poor but they had never inspired me to do and act better, but then I saw the Duke try and genuinely help the less fortunate and somehow it inspired me."

Lasson said, explaining to Lady Melissa how he became so inspired by the Duke.
