Lady Melissa took out her red pen, as she opened the report once more, deciding to circle out the pictures of the maids she suspected, or someone she thought would do a crime.

Lady Melissa opened the pen, circling out the maids' faces almost immediately, and even putting a triangle on Sophia's face.

Lady Melisa trusted Sophia but there was always a chance Sophia could've done such a thing and she wanted to believe Sophia, but she just didn't know anymore.

Sophia had been acting strangely the past few days anyways, acting different and just weird.

Maybe it was from guilt perhaps? The reason that Sophia had been acting differently was because something had happened? Something guilty that she had done to perhaps Lady Melissa and her parents?

Maybe something had happened that had caused Sophia to act this way, but Lady Melissa needed to dig deeper than this, she couldn't just blame Sophia and confront her because she had been acting differently.

Maybe Lady Melissa should ask Derreck to describe to her what the maids, who she didn't know that much, were like. So she would be able to know how they acted and narrow down the list more.

Derreck did have much information about everyone in the manner, which included the maids and servants. So asking him would be a great choice for her, she'd be practically killing two birds with one stone.

Though that plan of hers would have to wait, as Lady Melissa had to start preparing for her lessons.

'Speak of the devil.'

Lady Melissa thought, as suddenly there was a knock on the door, which Lady Melissa assumed was her teacher.

"Come in!"

Lady Melissa shouted, as her teacher came in, ready to start the lesson with Lady Melissa and bore her to death.

As the day passed, which felt like centuries to Lady Melissa, it was finally 7 PM.

Meaning that it was time for Lady Melissa to shower right now, and to head downstairs, to eat with her parents.

Which she hoped was there this time, and wasn't too busy with work.

Lady Melissa quickly showered, not wanting to make her parents wait for her too long if they were downstairs, eating.

Soon after, she emerged from the bathroom, with her nightgown, ready to eat dinner with her parents.

Lady Melissa walked down the stairs, a little quicker than usual as she was eager to be able to talk with her parents.

Although it seemed like a small matter, it was the little things that matter in life, at least to Lady Melissa.

No matter how small an action can be, in the end it would still affect someone's life.

Be it in a positive or negative way.

Such as a simple talk with her parents everyday would raise Lady Melissa's spirit, even if it was something small.

The small things in life matter just as much as the big ones.

They always do.

Lady Melisssa went to the dining room, and her parents weren't there.

'Maybe they're just late or something.'

Lady Melissa thought, hoping that she would be able to talk with them and eat with them.

However, ten minutes had passed and Lady Melissa was anxiously waiting for them, scared that they wouldn't show up.

Lady Melissa waited and waited and waited, soon enough that ten minutes had turned into an hour.

'Maybe I should just skip dinner tonight and just go to bed or something, I can always just eat more tomorrow.'

Lady Melissa thought, after an hour of waiting she didn't have that much of an appetite anymore.

"You're not eating anything?"

The Duke asked, fixing his shirt as he had suddenly arrived, much to Lady Melissa's delight, although she didn't show it that much.

"Well, I thought it'd be best for me to wait for you and mom so we could all eat together, but I don't have that much of an appetite anymore."

Lady Melissa said, explaining to her father why she wasn't eating anything.

"I'm sorry, for making you wait for me and your mother for an hour, and the both of us are sorry too for skipping breakfast."

The Duke said, apologizing to his daughter.

"Well, if it makes you feel any better,  apology accepted. You and mom looked cute sleeping and cuddling together."

Lady Melissa said, as she gave her dad a smile, secretly wanting to have a relationship like theirs if she ever dated a guy.

Though Lady Melissa wasn't planning on settling down, at least that wasn't her goal currently.

Her goal was to take down the Crown Prince, which she still hates with every part of her body, even the mention of his name would make Lady Melissa gag.

"Well, if you don't have that much of an appetite we could always eat ice cream, as long as your mom doesn't find out, and thank you for accepting my apology."

The Duke said, as he let out a smile, offering to give Lady Melissa ice cream.

"I always have an appetite for ice cream. Speaking of which, why is mom not here?"

Lady Melissa asked, only now realizing that her mother wasn't here with her dad.

"Your mother needed to take care of a few things, I promise you she'll be with you in the morning. Now ice cream?"

The Duke said, putting on a smirk on his face before winking to Lady Melissa.

"Yes."

Lady Melissa replied, a smirk on her face, eager to eat some ice cream.

After some ice cream had been eaten by both Lady Melissa and the Duke, Lady Melissa realized how late it had gotten, with the both of them having some ice cream together, and some wine.

Which although sounded like a bad combo, wasn't that much of a bad combo. Instead the wine actually went well with the ice cream surprisingly.

The both of them had a few chats with each other, with topics ranging from her father's last business trip, to Lady Melissa's longing of being in a relationship.

Which, for the record, Lady Melissa did want to be in a relationship, but at the same time she didn't want to be in one with everything going on and with her goal still not yet achieved.

Which was to bring down the Crown Prince.
