Now, onto the last problem, the three men meeting with each other.
Duke Gaston, Duke Mason and Duke Alphonso.
In all seriousness, Lady Melissa hoped that the three of them would be able to work well with each other, especially considering the fact that this contract would be for a long time and she needed to take down the Crown Prince.
Speaking of contracts, Lady Melissa still had a contract with Duke Gaston to find his younger sister, which Lady Melissa would find, but his younger sister had only appeared a few months after this, so Lady Melissa had no choice but to wait till his younger sister appeared, or else she would have to take matters into her own hand if his younger sister didn't appear.
Lady Melissa was a person of her word, and had always tried her best to keep it, no matter what she had to go through, she would try her best to keep her word.
If sometimes she wasn't able to keep her word then she would try and negotiate the deal, so it would still be beneficial and fair for the both of them.
Lady Melissa could think about the problem concerning Duke Gaston and his sister later on since she wouldn't appear until at least the next few months.
Hopefully, his sister won't appear until the next few months at least. With Lady Melissa here, she could mess up some of the future events from happening.
Though Lady Melissa wasn't completely sure about that since well, some of the events that were supposed to happen did happen, like how they did in her previous life.
She didn't want to interfere any more than she already had with the timeline of the events happening in her life.
Lady Melissa didn't want to impact this whole plan of hers just because of something she did or because she messed up.
Though she was kind of being hypocritical since she was planning to kill the Crown Prince and wipe his face off of the earth.
After more and more hours of Lady Melissa focusing on her thoughts, she was done for the day.
Her lessons at weekends usually ended an hour or two quicker compared to the ones on weekdays.
Lady Melissa decided that now would be a perfect time for her to question Derreck about some of the employees.
Lady Melissa quickly showered and went down, finding Derreck so she could have a little conversation with him.
Soon enough, she found Derreck, scolding one of the maids to do her job properly, before the maid, with her head down, walked away.
"Do you have a minute Derreck? I'd like to discuss something with you."
Lady Melsisa asked, hoping that she would be able to discuss it with Derreck.
"Of course Lady Melissa, come this way."
Derrick said, as the both of them entered one of the soundproof rooms in the estate.
Knowing that what Lady Melissa said next could bring up some rumours, or at least what he thought it would.
"These employees in the report here that I didn't circle out, do you know what they're like?"
Lady Melissa asked, flipping through the pages of the report and pointing to the numerous maids without circles.
Derreck was caught off guard, not expecting Lady Melisssa to ask him that.
Though Derreck quickly kept his composure, answering Lady Melissa.
"Yes, all of the employees, maids or servants. I've done a background check on them to make sure that they are suited for the Shayla estate before hiring them."
Derreck said as he explained to Lady Melissa.
"Really? Then why were you scolding a maid earlier to do her job correctly?"
Lady Melissa curiously asked, wondering what the reason was for Derreck to scold a maid for not doing her job correctly when he had just told her that he had done a background check on the employees to make sure they were suitable for the Shayla estate.
"That was a mishap on my part, one of my friends had asked me to try and let her work in the Shayla estate, and I decided to give her a try. My apologies for this Lady Melissa, I should've confirmed with you first before letting her in."
Derreck said, putting his head down as he apologized to Lady Melissa.
"I want you to fire her, and do this again and you'll get fired."
Lady Melissa coldly said to Derreck.
Derreck was a kind-hearted man, and because of that he would sometimes be used by some people.
He could step-up for himself sometimes, or he could stay quiet other times.
"Yes, I shall fire her later. My apologies Lady Melissa, I promise you that this will not happen again."
Derreck said, apologizing to Lady Melissa again.
"Good, now since you said you did a background check on each of the employees I assume you have a file filled with all of their information? From where they live in to the jobs they had?"
Lady Melissa asked Derreck.
"Yes I do, I can borrow you the files if you want Lady Melissa."
Derreck said, offering to let Lady Melissa borrow the files.
"Alright, then I'd like the files for every one of the maids that I didn't circle out, here's the report, so you can go into the records room and just find the files, and in the meantime I'll be waiting right here."
Lady Melissa said, as she handed Derreck the report. Before Derreck quickly left, going to the records room to find the files.
Lady Melissa patiently waited as she started to think about some of the lyrics for her parent's anniversary that was going to happen this Friday.
Derreck knocked on the door, waiting for Lady Melissa's permission to enter.
"Come in."
Lady Melissa said, before Derreck entered, numerous files he carried with his left hand, while he carried the report from Lady Melissa in his right hand.
"I knew I could count on you, Derreck."
Lady Melissa said, as soon as she spotted the files in Derreck's hand, giving him a smile.
