Lady Melissa had changed because of her friends, her family and the Crown Prince. As much as she hated him, she couldn't help but admit that one of the biggest reasons she changed was because of him.
If it wasn't for him, she wouldn't be here right now, perhaps she would still be shy and afraid to talk to her parents.
Perhaps she would've never even stood up for herself, and stayed quiet just like how she used to do so in the past.
That was the past Lady Melissa though, now she knew to stand up for herself and not to get herself used.
She knew better than to stay quiet, and push away from her parents, even if it was a defense mechanism.
Lady Melissa wasn't that person anymore, and she didn't want to be that person anymore, neither did she hope that she would be that person in the future either.
But, Lady Melissa, decided to wait a little, if by ten minutes neither of her parents had shown up then she would eat on her own.
However, if even one of them showed up, she would eat dinner with them and have a chat with them.
Maybe it was out of desperation, but Lady Melissa clinged onto that, hoping that maybe one of her parents would finally come and save the day.
It was stupid and dumb of Lady Melissa, but she couldn't heelp herself but just hope that her parents would come, or at least one of them would.
However, ten minutes soon came by and neither of Lady Melissa's parents came to the dining room to save the day.
Lady Melissa was disappointed, but she wasn't surprised at all, she had already expected that this would happen, but she clinged onto her last bit of hope that they would come, or at least one of them would.
But, reality was often disappointing, but well, it was reality, and nothing would be so easy and simple in life.
Lady Melissa ordered a salad, and it sood came out. Though, Lady Melissa didn't have an appetite at all, eating the salad as her mind wandered somewhere else.
'I should cheer up, after I start helping them out by doing some of their work, we'll have more time to hangout and spend time with each other.'
Lady Melissa thought, thinking that once she was able to help her parents by doing a bit of their work they would have more time to spend with each other.
At least she hoped she would have more time to spend with them after she started to help them out by doing her fair share of work.
Lady Melissa's plan on cheering herself worked though, Lady Melissa felt a little bit better after, and was less sad.
It may have been a little thing, like her parents not coming to eat dinner with her but the little things mattered as much as the big things.
At least it mattered that much to Lady Melissa.
Now that that was out of the way, Lady Melissa had finally finished eating her salad, quickly heading upstairs so she could deal with other matters, such as her meeting with Duke Alphonso.
Although she wouldn't be meeting him anytime soon, for now, at least. She thought it wouldn't hurt to write him a letter for them to meet up,and when she was free she could send the letter out to him.
'Oh wait, I have to think of how to even get the letter there, the letters that are sent to anyone in the royal family are checked before they get sent to the individual.'
Lady Melissa thought, remembering the fact that Duke Alphonso lived in the royal palace most of the time.
Of course Duke Alphonso had his own estate, though he was usually in the royal palace since he was one of the Crown Prince's advisors.
Lady Melissa had to be creative and try to think of a way on how she could send the letter to him without the guards knowing, or anyone in the royal palace knowing.
It was time for Lady Melissa to put her thinking cap on, and try to think of a solution to this problem of hers.
Besides, she could always write the letter out to Duke Alphonso later on, since they wouldn't be meeting each other anytime soon.
Thirty minutes or so had passed and Lady Melissa was still in her room, as she tried to concentrate, thinking of a way to send her letter to Duke Alphonso without anyone else noticing.
So far, she had come up with nothing. Though to be fair she didn't expect herself to come up with a solution to the problem immediately either.
'What about the event? Maybe I can try and send the letter to Duke Alphonso that way somehow? It is mandatory for the closest aides of the royal family to appear.'
Lady Melissa thought, trying to remember how the event had gone last time in her previous life.
Unfortunately for her, she couldn't remember much of the details. Though she remembered what had happened in the event.
The event in question that she had been talking about this entire time was the yearly hunting event.
Where noblemen would hunt for animals in a certain area of the forest, and whichever animal they caught they would give it to the woman of their choice.
The winner was decided by whichever noblemen caught the biggest and strongest animal, and Lady Melissa could vividly recall who exactly had won the event.
It was also mandatory for members of the royal family to participate, excluding the King and anyone who was of similar age to him.
Members of the royal family who were ill or very sick were also excluded from the event.
Although the Shayla estate was invited to go to the event, Lady Melissa didn't have any sort of interaction with the Crown Prince, she had only spotted him and moved on with her life, not understanding why everyone was so crazy about him.
