They tried to spoil Lady Melissa as much as they could, while making sure that they hadn't spoiled her too much, not wanting their daughter to grow up as some bratty child.

They had seen how nobles treated their children, and when neglected and money was just thrown to their child, in hopes of solving the problem.

It would end up to a child, growing spoiled, and needing all of his/her wishes to be met with, or else they would just whine and whine.

Lady Melissa's parents didn't want their daughter ever ending up like that, so they decided that even if they spoiled her, they were going to set a limit to it.

And that, no matter how busy they were, they would at least set some time aside to play with their daughter, in hopes that in the future their daughter wouldn't end up being distant from them and that all three of them would have a close relationship with each other.

It was that important to them, to have a proper relationship with their daughter so that they could all be close with each other.

Lady Melissa just didn't know if she had the time or availability to spend with a child, since she had a job to do too, and there was her husband (if she ever had a child).

Though Lady Melissa didn't really have much to worry about yet considering the fact that she hadn't found any suitable husband/husbands yet.

Though she could always just keep dreaming, and who knows maybe one day the 'perfect' husband would magically arrive on her doorstep eager to dote on her.

Lady Melissa wondered what life would be like if she had a husband and children.

How fun it would be, having people that would risk everything for you, and that you would do the same thing for them.

She wanted to try and just experience it on her own this time, with her husband.

She had experienced it with her parents before of course, but she wanted to experience it first-hand this time.

It just sounded so amazing to Lady Melissa, and whenever she would feel sad or frustrated she would have people cheering her up.

And no matter what happened to them, at the end of the day they would all still love each other.

Lady Melissa wanted a bond like that, an unbreakable one where people were ready to protect her whenever she needed to be protected, and she would do the same thing.

Lady Melissa knew that having a husband, and children weren't all sunshine and rainbows though, after all she had witnessed it before in her parents.

They had had countless arguments before in the past, and Lady Melissa would hear it.

She would hear the screaming and yells to each other, as she listened silently in her bedroom, tears threatening to fall.

Of course, her parents didn't know, how could they? They were too busy arguing to notice that their child, who was barely 7 years old, was crying.

Luckily for Lady Melissa, and for her parents as well, they had stopped arguing when she started growing older, realizing the kind of effects it could have on their child and marriage.

Not wanting anything bad to happen to either of them/

Even though her parents had stopped screaming and yelling at each other, they still regularly had arguments, this time though they communicated with each other.

Instead of screaming and yelling like they used to do, they would talk calmly, and explain from their point of view, and from then on they would calmly discuss matters with each other.

Lady Melissa was happy that they weren't screaming and yelling at each other anymore, she didn't like them doing that to each other.

And even though they had stopped doing that to each other, Lady Melissa could still vividly hear their shouts to each other and remember how it had felt.

Lady Melissa could remember tears threatening to fall, every time her parents screamed and yelled at each other.

Luckily, Lady Melissa wasn't reminded of sights like these anymore, as her parents were just so sweet, taking care of each other.

Secretly, Lady Melissa wanted to have a relationship like theirs, minus the screams and yelling the both of them had in their marriage at the start.

She wanted to have a husband whom she could fully rely on whenever the world was against her.

A husband who would comfort her and reassure her that everything was going to be alright, and that even if it wasn't then she'll figure something out.

A husband who would be great with kids, and great in other things too.

A husband who would rely on her too, and one who was not afraid to publicly display affection to her.

Such as holding hands.

The small and thoughtful acts a guy did to Lady Melissa would make her heart flutter.

Since, men were known to be selfish and arrogant, mostly caring for themselves only.

Lady Melissa would know, she had experienced it first-hand after all.

Maybe Lady Melissa's standards were too high, or they were too low but all she wanted in her husband was a kind, good with kids and family, smart, and a great comforter.

Was that so hard to ask? (This was totally not a sign from Lady Melissa for the universe to send her a guy her type in her direction).

Alas, if only she could find a guy like that, a guy who was single at least.

All the good guys were always taken, and Lady Melissa could understand why.

There was too much trash in the sea, so the good ones would end up being taken as quickly as possible, which Lady Melissa couldn't blame women picking guys like that.

Lady Melissa wondered how life would be with a child, or maybe two children, one boy and one daughter, as they happily played with each other.

Lady Melissa wanted to have two children, preferably one boy and one girl, so that they would be able to keep each other company.

She didn't want her child going through what she had gone through as the only child, bearing all the burdens of the family.
