Justin watched Lady Melissa, waiting outside of the bathroom while she was brushing her teeth and doing other things.
Lady Melissa looked like she was about to sleep, and Justin decided that now would probably be a good time to investigate regarding the maids that were in the files that Lady Melissa had handed to him earlier.
"May I excuse myself to investigate Lady Melissa?"
Justin politely asked Lady Melissa, wondering if he could leave her alone to investigate the maids like she had asked him to do earlier.
"Go ahead."
Lady Melissa said, her voice surprisingly sounding like usual, he had expected her to sound drunk, not how she normally sounded.
Justin was pretty familiar with Lady Melissa's voice already, considering the fact that he spent hours being in the same room with her, and in those hours he had a long time to get used to her voice, even though he didn't have a lot of conversations with her.
Justin immediately took off, leaving Lady Melissa alone as he left her room, going to investigate about all the five maids, with the limited time he had, until tomorrow practically, he had already worn the ring and bracelet Lady Melissa showed earlier to him.
Justin reminded himself not to get caught, and even though Lady Melissa hadn't told him not to get caught by anyone.
It was an unspoken rule, not to get caught by the other guards protecting the Shayla estate, he knew not to let anyone find out about the investigation.
After all, there was a reason why Lady Melissa had ordered him to investigate this during the nighttime, and Justin had made some assumptions as to why Lady Melissa had done so.
Besides, if Lady Melissa wanted other people to find out, she would give the task of investigating the maids to someone else, some other guard, and not him.
Even though Lady Melissa had seen him a few days ago, he had only been working for her for less than twenty four hours so far, yet she had trusted him, out of everybody, to investigate the maids.
So, Justin assumed that either Lady Melissa didn't trust the employees in her estate, or that she didn't want the employees finding out about it.
Or maybe the reason was both of those, he wouldn't be surprised if it was.
Every estate had a rat in it, and Justin had no doubt the Shayla estate had one too, it was practically impossible for an estate not to have one.
Especially with a family as high of a status as Lady Melissa's, there were countless numbers of people wanting to assassinate her parents, or her for their own beneficial gain.
Lady Melissa had just been lucky enough not to experience it in her life so far.
Truth be told Justin was secretly envious of people born in high statuses, they had a status that was just given to them, not having to earn it.
He had wondered how much easier life would be if he was given a high status as well at birth, and how much he didn't have to suffer.
Justin understood it was incredibly selfish of him, but he couldn't help but feel envious, he had worked so hard to achieve his position yet many were given a position higher than him just because they were lucky enough to be born into the position.
Justin knew that it wasn't anybody's fault though, maybe in his next life he would be lucky enough to be born as a high-ranking noble's son.
Almost a week had passed since that day, and Lady Melissa had started getting used to someone watching her every move during the daytime.
Justin had also adjusted better, though he didn't really need much adjusting in the first place, he was used to changing places every now and then.
His masters, in the past, would sometimes sell him off to other people who wanted him as their guard.
Lady Melissa was putting the finishing touches for her parent's anniversary that would be tomorrow, which Justin was currently helping her set up some decorations.
The maids had helped in as well, and Lady Melissa had already dismissed them as she was almost practically finished with the whole thing, so she decided that it would be fine just to let Justin continue finishing the last few touches.
A few minutes had passed, and Justin had finished setting up some things on the wall, for Lady Melissa's parent's anniversary.
Speaking of her parents, Lady Melissa hadn't seen them for an entire week, and she would normally be panicking but she had learnt to adjust with it.
Besides, there were too many things happening for her to be caught up with one small thing, and she had started helping out her parent's with their work, even though she hadn't seen them for practically half of the week.
Lady Melissa looked at her paper, where she had written lyrics for the song that she was going to sing while playing the piano to her parents; she had hoped that they would enjoy it.
Lady Melissa hoped that they would even go downstairs in the morning and just see her playing the lovely song that she had prepared for the both of them for their anniversary.
Lady Melissa had cancelled all of the lessons she had that day, and she had taken multiple all-nighters the previous days before, so she could spend today, and tomorrow relaxing, spending time with her parents.
Lady Melissa wanted to spend time with her family, she had missed them a lot.
She walked to the piano, playing a few pieces of the song while singing it aloud, nervously.
Lady Melissa was secretly scared that her parents wouldn't like this, or that they wouldn't even appear in the first place,
She had also prepared some gifts for her parents, for her mother she had ordered a big bouquet for her, filled with roses as she knew her mother's favourite flower just happened to be roses.
