"It's been a pleasure of mine to see all of you here, being able to attend, but before the hunting event starts, I have something to announce to everyone regarding me and this very attractive brunette-haired woman beside me."
The Crown Prince said as he narrowed his eyes, quickly looking up and down on the brunette-haired woman before he continued his sentence.
"We're happy to announce that the both of us are officially engaged."
The Crown Prince said as the both of them held up their fingers in unison, as Lady Melissa spotted two beautiful rings on their fingers each, big white shiny diamonds.
The next few seconds that soon finished the Crown Prince's announcement was just chaos- everyone was making a fuss, and reasonably so.
Lady Melissa though admittedly saw this coming, and she was more than sure that many others did so too.
After all, why else would he bring the brunette-haired woman to Duchess Victoria's grand ball yesterday? Knowing that it was one of the biggest events of the year and that every important person was going to be there, or at least every important person that was in the capital.
The Crown Prince shushed the crowd before he continued his next sentence.
"The Hunting Event has now officially started! If you have any questions go and ask one of the servants or maids, and they will be more than delighted to explain the rules to you."
The Crown Prince said, as the public let out a shout of delight, the main event had officially started, though Lady Melissa wasn't too sure of that.
The main event had started when the Crown Prince announced his engagement with the brunette-haired woman, and she could see the number of stares on the brunette-haired woman, filled with jealous eyes.
She was sure that the jealous stares were from the many noblewomen, jealous that the brunette-haired woman had managed to snatch someone like the Crown Prince.
Lady Melissa could already imagine the insults coming from the noblewomen, knowing that now, the noblewomen would make the brunette-haired woman an enemy, and if they had to they would make up fake rumours and scandals about her.
All in an attempt to bring her down, an attempt for the Crown Prince to end his engagement with her.
Lady Melisssa licked her lips, things were just starting to get fun now, and she was more than excited to see what was going to happen next with the brunette-haired woman.
After all, she deserved it right? For making Lady Melissa go through hell every night she managed to get sleep.
For making Lady Melissa feel scared every time she woke up, thinking that everything that happened was a reality.
This was only going to be the start of her revenge on the brunette-haired woman for everything she had done to Lady Melissa, and she was going to experience much much more in the future.
"We're here."
The Duke and Duchess said as they appeared behind Lady Melissa tapping her shoulder.
"You made it just in time."
Lady Melissa said as she gave the both of them a warm smile.
"The hunting event's started already so you should probably join them, dad, oh and before you go, here's a napkin for you."
Lady Melissa said as she handed the napkin to her father, feeling the numerous stares on both her and her father.
"Aww, thank you, Melissa, I'll get something for the both of you, I'll see you later."
The Duke said as he told his wife and Lady Melissa, quickly pulling them into a hug before he joined the rest of the noblemen who were going to participate in the hunting event.
Great, Lady Melissa had two hours before the hunting event would end, and they would finally be the time the King would announce the winner and that it was time for them to eat which Lady Melissa was absolutely excited for, even though she knew that she wasn't going to actually eat anything.
Lady Melissa had just hoped that the time the King would take to announce the winner of the event would be more than enough for her to hand the note to Duke Alphonso, she hadn't forgotten about it all this time after all, and had made sure that it was still in the pocket of her dress.
"You can go and sit with the other young noblewomen, and I'll go sit with some of my friends alright?"
The Duchess said to Lady Melissa who nodded her head, she put on a confident smirk, it was finally time for her to meet some of the people who had been dragging her name down.
Lady Melissa knew that it wouldn't take long for her to figure which one of the noblewomen had been the ones dragging her name down.
Lady Melissa made her way to the table with other young noblewomen and ladies, her mom's table was filled with Duchess' such as Duchess Ella and many more.
Lady Melissa swayed her hips, as her high heels made a click-clack sound with every confident step she took, a proud smile on her face.
She was confident and wasn't going to lose the battle that the noblewomen were going to give her.
Lady Melissa spotted Lady Whistledown, noticing the seat beside her was empty as she quickly sat there.
Lady Melissa was quickly greeted by a few of the other noble ladies that sat in front of her, as well as by Lady Whistledown while she did the same to them.
One of the ladies was speaking about her marital issues, and how much her husband would often go away due to his job, leaving her alone, with her kids.
Lady Melisssa wondered why it was a problem, she knew that it was understandable to crave affection and sorts but she had children, weren't they already a mess to deal with?
Lady Melissa heard a few other noblewomen chirping in as they agreed to the first Lady, some of them comforting her.
