"I got a lion for you Lady Melissa, I hope you will accept my catch."
Duke Gaston awkwardly said, his brain would just suddenly stop thinking and it wouldn't be able to form coherent sentences whenever Lady Melissa was around him, especially in that beautiful dress she had worn and how amazing she looked.
"Oh, wow. Thank you, Duke Gaston. I appreciate it."
Lady Melissa said as Duke Gaston went to kiss her hand, getting on his knees, as Lady Melissa smiled.
If only everybody would get on her knees for her, after all, it was where they deserved to be.
Where they should be, on their knees for Lady Melissa.
Duke Gaston soon left, giving Lady Melissa one last glance before he went to sit with the other noblemen, smiling at Lady Melissa.
'He's cute.'
Lady Melissa thought, as she recalled what had just happened a few seconds ago, Duke Gaston's blushing face was admittedly cute.
However, with everything that had happened to her, she was sure to be facing the consequences of it in the next few seconds.
She had already received the most catches, below Lady Whistledown and to add the fact that one of the most eligible bachelors had given his catch to her?
She was sure she was public enemy number one now, especially with the number of fangirls that Duke Gaston had.
No one had said anything though, all of them were intimidated by Lady Melissa, all except for one.
"What did you do to get him to give you a catch?"
Lady Yae said, as she judgingly stared at Lady Melissa.
"Oh it's simple, I was a decent human being."
Lady Melissa said as she shot Lady Yae a smile, whilst some of the Ladies let out a laugh, quickly covering it up with a cough.
"Oh please, you, a decent human being? I beg to differ, you probably spread your legs."
Lady Yae said to Lady Melissa, snickering, as all of the other Ladies' faces had turned into horror, although admittedly some of them had thought that, saying that to her face was a completely different matter.
Some of them however were intrigued, wondering just how Lady Melissa would respond to Lady Yae.
"Oh? Are you perhaps talking to yourself? I can see why you haven't received a single catch now Lady Yae."
Lady Melissa said as she put a sweet smile on her face, whilst Lady Yae stared daggers into her, she had been publicly humiliated in front of everyone, again.
Lady Yae stayed in silence, knowing that if she said anything else Lady Melissa would say something worse about her.
Lady Melissa wanted to let out a snicker, she didn't know that Lady Yae's face could possibly get any redder than before.
Suddenly, a tall dashing man had interrupted them, just when there were only five minutes left before the hunting event would end, and his catch would be disqualified.
"I'm not too late now am I?"
Duke Mason said, as his body was drenched with sweat, his hair that was normally up going down, somehow more attractive than his usual hair.
"You're five minutes before the hunting event ends, Duke Mason."
One of the Ladies said, speaking up whilst all the other Ladies seemed hypnotized by Duke Mason's charming looks, all except for Lady Melissa, and Lady Whistledown.
"Thank god."
Duke Mason said, as he let out a sigh of relief before he started to approach one of the ladies, as every Lady, held their breath, hoping that it was them he was going to be offering the catch to.
"Would you do me the honours of accepting my catch?"
Duke Mason said as he looked down on Lady Melissa, his green eyes staring deep into Lady Melissa's soul.
"I'd be more than delighted to do so, Duke Mason."
Lady Melissa replied, as she bit the bottom of her lip, nobody accepted Duke Mason seeing it because of the way her body was angled towards him.
"Too bad I wasn't the first one who gave you a catch."
Duke Mason said as he let out a sigh.
"Well, if it makes you feel any better, your catch is bigger than the rest of theirs...I think."
Lady Melissa said as Duke Mason stopped breathing for a few seconds as he stared at her.
"I got you a bear."
Duke Mason casually responded.
"Yup, it's the biggest catch."
Lady Melissa said, as Duke Mason internally celebrated.
Lady Melissa stared at Duke Mason's green eyes, and his silver hair, as he looked dishevelled as if he had run here so he wasn't late.
Knowing Duke Mason, Lady Melissa was sure that it was what he had exactly done.
It was as if time had stopped, with Duke Mason staring at Lady Melissa's appearance, taking the time to look at her, and observe her appearance and how stunning she looked.
One of the ladies let out a cough, probably feeling uncomfortable with the romantic tension between the two of them or because she was jealous of Lady Melissa, wanting to be in her position instead.
"Oh uh unfortunately I must go now, though I'll talk to you later."
Duke Mason said as he gave Lady Melissa a wink, touching his silver hair as he went to talk to the other noblemen.
Lady Melissa was now suffering the consequences of getting two catches from the most wanted bachelors in the capital, which was just great for her.
Lady Melissa was thankful of course for the catches that they had given her, but the consequences of it were that she'd get tons of horrible rumours spreading about her.
At least she could make the most out of the attention anyways for the time remaining.
The two hour time had been up, as Lady Melissa spotted one of the noblemen just barely making it through, he was a few seconds away from being disqualified.
Lady Melissa had noticed that the man had gotten to the table that was filled with Duchess, offering his deer to his wife.
