Chapter 213 - 213

"Alright, now, do you have any questions for me?"

Lady Melissa asked Duke Alphonso as the both of them locked eyes between each other.

"I have a couple, but I believe it's alright if you just answer one of them if you don't mind of course."

Duke Alphonso asked as Lady Melissa nodded her head, waiting for him to continue whatever he was going to-or plan to ask her.

"Are you the lady who wore the white dress in Duchess Victoria's ball?"

Duke Alphonso asked as Lady Melissa's pupils widened for a split second before she quickly calmed herself down and composed herself.

"Yes, why?"

Lady Melissa asked, curious as to why out of all the questions Duke Alphonso decided to choose that one to ask her.

"Nothing, no further questions."

Duke Alphonso casually said as he took another few sips of his oreo milkshake.

"Since now that we've gotten this rebellion thing out of the way, would you mind if I perhaps ask a few questions regarding you, Duke Alphonso?"

Lady Melissa asked as Duke Alphonso nodded his head, liking the sound of his name rolling on her tongue as he stared at her lips for a few seconds, soon averting his gaze as Lady Melissa didn't notice.

"Alright, would you be interested in meeting the other main partners for this rebellion?"

Lady Melissa asked Duke Alphonso, with a sly smirk on her face as his pupils widened, not expecting that.

His surprised expression soon turned into a smirk, he would love to meet whoever was going to be his other partners for this whole rebellion, since he knew that Lady Melissa would only choose the most competent partners, and he already had a few guesses.

"I'd love to, though what time would it be?"

Duke Alphonso asked Lady Melissa.

"I'll tell you about that later in a letter or two, and the meeting."

Lady Melissa said, as she quickly answered his question.

"Moving onto the next question, you have to remember to stay loyal to me alright? I can't promise you that you'll still have your head if not."

Lady Melissa said as Duke Alphonso shuddered, at the venom in Lady Melissa's tone.

Duke Alphonso nodded his head, though he knew better than to make any promises to her, whether Lady Melissa would know it or not- he was going to only make decisions that would be beneficial to him.

And this rebellion against the Crown Prince just so happened to be beneficial to him, in addition to that, he had hundreds of backup plans just in case he was ever caught and how he would prove that he wasn't a part of it.

Little to his knowledge did he know Lady Melissa knew him better than he thought.

"Unfortunately, I must go now, I'll pay for the bill."

Duke Alphonso said as Lady Melissa shakes her head, it wouldn't hurt for her to pay the bill with everything he had shared with her today.

"Don't worry, it's fine, I'll pay for the bill."

Lady Melissa said as she called upon the waitress who soon appeared.

Duke Alphonso took out a few silver coins as he was about to pay- before Lady Melissa had beaten him, a very visible smirk on her face as Duke Alphonso felt nice that for once it wasn't him paying.

"I'll pay next time."

Duke Alphonso said, although he enjoyed not paying, he couldn't possibly let Lady Melissa pay for all their dates, could he?

Duke Alphonso let out a blush as he thought of the word 'date.'

He shook his head, he wasn't interested in Lady Melissa that way, yet.

"Whatever you say."

Lady Melissa winked at Duke Alphonso as he was left speechless- he didn't expect her to act like this in front of him, though he wasn't complaining.

"I'll escort you back to your carriage, it's the least I can do after everything you've done today."

Duke Alphonso was thankful that he could finally have a meeting with Lady Melissa- and he had learnt all sorts of things because of her today, more importantly, he had learnt new valuable intel because of her.

Duke Alphonso said as Lady Melissa's protests were left deaf to his ears.

"No one can see us together, you and I both know the rumours that people will make about us."

Lady Melissa said, as Duke Alphonso finally stopped, looking at her as he thought for a few seconds.

"I'll walk you to where your carriage is at least, and then I'll leave, how about that?"

Duke Alphonso said as Lady Melissa thought for a few seconds this time.

"No."

Lady Melissa bluntly replied as Duke Alphonso let out a scoff.

"Fine, I'll walk you till the door, then you can go out yourself?"

Duke Alphonso said as he suggested to Lady Melisa, he understood why she was rejecting his offers to escort her to the carriage but it was irritating, he wanted to be a gentleman in her eyes.

"Fine."

Lady Melissa let out a sigh, unaware of the fact that Duke Alphonso was secretly celebrating inside of her heart.

"Thank you for visiting our place, have a pleasant day!"

The waitress and waitresses present said as they all bowed down their heads to Lady Melissa and Duke Alphonso in unison.

"I'll be looking forward to seeing you again."

Duke Alphonso said as Lady Melissa and he had finally made their way through the door, which was shorter than Lady Melissa had wanted it to be.

"I can say the same thing to you, in the meantime, don't miss me too much."

Lady Melissa said as she let out a smirk, quickly glancing up and down at him before she winked at him.

Lady Melissa walked to her carriage alone as she entered inside, ordering the driver to go back to home sweet home, back to the luxury of her bed, and the cold air that would be surrounding her, though it wasn't as if La Vien En Rose wasn't cold.

To a certain extent, it was, but it wasn't cold enough, at least not for Lady Melissa with the coldness that she had gotten used to back at home.
