Lady Melissa didn't know why she had flirted with Duke Alphonso, she hadn't expected him to blush the first time she did so, but she couldn't help but continuously flirt with him because of how he was acting.
It was cute to him how shy he was- even though his personality could change in a split second, from shy to calculating and brave.
Lady Melissa was intrigued by him; more than she'd like to ever admit, it was as if he was a piece of her puzzle, as cliche as it sounded.
Lady Melissa thought that she and he would make a great duo before her cheeks flushed at what she had just thought of, she had meant it in a partner kind of way, and not in a romantic way, not that Lady Melissa had time for a romantic relationship though.
Soon enough, Lady Melissa had made her way back to the Shayla estate, as she quickly left the carriage, before casting her invisibility spell of course.
Before when she'd used to sneak out of the Shayla estate having to cast an invisibility spell and going through all that trouble for her first meeting with Duke Mason, but now she was more talented in casting the spell, as well as other spells and subjects.
Before, the longest time that Lady Melissa had managed to keep herself invisible was one minute, and then it changed to three minutes, and slowly and slowly, it had eventually changed to five minutes, which was currently the time that Lady Melissa was able to put herself invisible for.
Lady Melissa quickly cast the invisibility spell, as she carefully made her way inside, only coming inside when there was a breeze or so that the maids or servants could think that the door was open because of wind and not because of the fact that someone snook inside.
Lady Melissa had successfully returned inside, as she kept the door open so as not to make it weird or so.
Lady Melissa's heart had almost stopped at the sight of a maid just a few feet in front of the door, and also in front of her.
The maid noticed the door was open.
"Must've been the wind."
Lady Melissa wanted to let out a sigh of relief right then and there but the maid was approaching her, and she knew better than to let out any kind of sound.
Lady Melissa carefully slipped to the left, as the maid approached the door, gradually coming closer and closer as she held her breath.
The maid soon closed the door and got back to her work in the kitchen, as Lady Melissa carefully made her way upstairs, careful not to alert any maids or servants whilst doing so.
While Lady Melissa made sure the coast was clear, she quickly came inside her room, closing the door as she let out a sigh of relief, things would've been easier if her parents weren't there.
She wouldn't need to go through all this trouble and she wouldn't have a number of headaches in her head anymore.
Lady Melissa finally turned her back as she was about to greet and thank Victoria for once again doing a favour for her.
Lady Melissa wanted to let out a scream- but she stopped herself from doing so, the sight in front of her was absolutely horrible.
Lady Melissa had been sneezing the past few days, and during so her nose was filled with snot, hence she wasn't able to smell much.
She could stell strong scents, but she couldn't smell the weaker ones and for some reason, it had only been happening in her home.
Lady Melissa darted her eyes to the surroundings of the room, as she realized that Justin wasn't there, Justin had left the room-or worse.
Lady Melissa knew better than to act harshly she knew not to make dumb movements, and best of all she knew not to enrage Victoria.
The sight of one of the new bodyguards that were now dead, with Victoria holding the knife like a maniac , blood splattered all over her face.
Lady Melissa made sure to be on her guard, but she knew that she couldn't just glance at her surroundings every second, or else Victoria knew that she didn't trust her.
"Greetings Lady Melissa! How do you like my present? I worked extra hard on it for you~!"
Victoria said as she let out a moan, using her tongue to lick the bodyguard's blood, as Lady Melissa soon recognized the bodyguard.
It was Noel, one of the male bodyguards that Lady Melissa had hired, one of the brothers from the twins that Lady Melissa had hired.
"Like? I love it Victoria!"
Lady Melissa said as she carefully tried to think of a plan, whilst Victoria kept staring at her, not believing anything she said.
Lady Melissa saw Victoria's disbelief as she sent her a fake smile, still thinking of a plan since she was still currently unarmed.
Lady Melissa's remembered something, she had a dagger on her right thigh, but the question was, how was she going to get it without Victoria knowing?
Lady Melissa would say she felt bad for Noel because he died because of her, but the contract that he had signed wrote the warnings that he might die because of his job, and he signed it so there was nothing for Lady Melissa to feel bad for.
Lady Melissa didn't exactly feel bad either, it was life, and though in his defence, Noel probably didn't think that he was going to die on the first day of his job.
Unfortunately, sometimes accidents happen- and Noel had faced his gruesome death because he was in the right place at the wrong time.
"You know I really like you, Lady Melissa, let's be friends!"
Victoria said as she still held the knife in her right hand, though her grip on it loosened.
"You know you could've just asked me, right? Like a normal person?"
Lady Melissa replied, her tone filled with sarcasm.
