Chapter 217 - 217

"So…give me an explanation within a minute or else I'll fire you."

Lady Melissa said as she threatened Justin to give her an explanation within a minute.

"The imposter you or replacement you asked me to go to La Vien En Rose and get her some desserts, and I thought that it would be best to follow her orders so I did so."

Justin said as he had somehow managed to say it all within a minute, trying to catch his breath (as he sounded like a rapper).

"You're my bodyguard, so you only take MY and only MY orders, is that understood?"

Lady Melissa asked as she glared daggers at Justin, and although he would never admit it out loud he was scared of her.

He had to stop himself from flinching when he made even the slightest mistakes as he was too scared of her and what would happen to him.

"Yes, Lady Melissa."

Nonetheless, Justin agreed to Lady Melissa's orders after all she was his master and they had even signed a contract.

He knew he was risking his life with the job that he had but the pay was too good to deny it.

Though admittedly he didn't spend too much money, only spending a sizable amount during his sister's birthday to visit her grave, not like Lady Melissa would know though.

"It won't repeat again, I promise, and I apologize for last time regarding the Crown Prince, I should've been there to protect you."

Justin said as he bowed his head down, apologizing to Lady Melissa who simply scoffed at his apology.

"Look up, if you're truly sorry and apologetic then don't make the same mistake over and over, you have a brain for a reason."

Lady Melissa said to Justin as he could feel the venom in her tone, but he knew he deserved it with all of the mistakes he made.

Justin said nothing, not knowing how to respond to Lady Melissa so he simply nodded his head.

Lady Melissa didn't have to warn him about him telling anyone, since the very moment he was in the process of doing so he'd end up dying.

That was the use of the knight's vow, it was some sort of protection from masters or mistresses in case they don't believe in their guards.

The guards can die even if they write on paper; meaning that no matter what form of communication the guard uses he/she will die before they finish telling someone.

Lady Melissa just hoped that Justin would actually protect her the third time something like this happened.

It'd be a pity for her to lose someone as valuable as him, but if he kept proving himself to be useless over and over again then she'd have no choice but to fire him or worse.

"Oh and before I forget, you're not getting paid this week, you're lucky I didn't make it the whole month Justin."

Lady Melissa said and even though he could only see her back- he was intimidated by her voice alone.

Lady Melissa had a certain way with both people and words- but how could she not when she had been manipulated by the Crown Prince at the entirety of her relationship with him?

Whether it was conscious or not, Lady Melissa was using some of the old tricks the Crown Prince would use on her to make her scared of him.

To make her obedient, submissive and to listen to his every word and order.

Lady Melissa wouldn't admit it though she was quite impressed with the group of people who had successfully managed to clean all the blood.

Lady Melissa's eyes widened as she came to the realization of something, how was she supposed to tell Nathan about his twin brother?

Congratulations on getting this job along with your brother! Unfortunately, your brother has passed away due to a murder attempt for me.'

Lady Melissa thought in her head as she shook her head; she knew that Nathan was most likely going to go into a fit of rage.

She wouldn't blame him if he did so since the news of his brother dying so quickly was something to be surprised by.

At least Lady Melissa still had four new bodyguards now; ones that Lady Melissa knew she hadn't been introduced to because Justin didn't mention anything about them.

Though if Victoria was introduced to the other four bodyguards, and Justin didn't tell or mention it to her, let's say things wouldn't go so well for him.

As if on cue there was a knock on Lady Melissa's door as she told whoever was knocking on her door to come inside.

"Come inside!"

Lady Melissa shouted as she sat at her desk, with her now clean carpet with no stench of blood or sight of blood at all.

"Good Afternoon Lady Melissa, I'm here to introduce you to Nathan, one of the new bodyguards."

Derreck said as he bowed down to Lady Melissa, Nathan doing so as well before glancing at his surroundings.

"Alright Derreck, you can leave now, oh and if any other new bodyguards come just tell them to go to my room and ask a maid or servant to escort them, you don't need to bring them by yourself."

Lady Melissa said as Derreck nodded his head, bowing one more time to her before he escorted himself out of her room.

"Now, congratulations on getting this job, though I have some unfortunate news about your brother, Noel."

Lady Melissa said as she stopped her sentence for a few seconds, observing Nathan's reaction which was stoic like Justin's (most of the time).

Before she soon continued her sentence, staring at Nathan to see how he would react to the news of his brother's death.

"I'm sorry to inform you that your brother has passed away because of a murder attempt against me earlier."

Lady Melissa said as she observed Nathan's reaction.

It was stoic, though she could see that he was clenching both his hands.
