"I'm currently available, so you can go and hit me with your best shot. I'll be more than ecstatic to hear of the Knight's vow that you've prepared for me. Oh and make sure that you're going to include being loyal to your master and only your master, on the Knight's vow."
Lady Melissa said with a smile on her face as Nathan nodded his head, getting down on one knee to start giving Lady Melissa the knight's vow that he had prepared for her.
Lady Melissa listened to the first few parts of the knight's vow, it was just Nathan introducing himself and so.
"I swear that I (am up to no good) will always be loyal to Lady Melissa Mendy Shayla, and Lady Melissa only."
Nathan said as he stopped before he soon continued his sentence, he hadn't practised for the Knight's vow at all so he was practically winging it last minute.
"I will make sure to protect Lady Melissa from any harm, and I swear that l will never harm Lady Melissa unless it is needed if her life is in danger."
Nathan said as Lady Melissa nodded her head, intently listening to Nathan's Knight's vow as he swore another few sentences about how he was (never going to give you up) never goigg no to betray Lady Melissa and such.
Lady Melissa finally stood up from her desk as she picked up her sword that was on the ground, approaching Nathan's kneeling body.
"I, hereby, announce you, Nathan as my bodyguard, if you dare betray me or do anything of the sort, I will make all of your loved ones' lives a living hell."
Lady Melissa said as she stared daggers at Nathan, giving him a warning.
Lady Melissa used her sword as she gently patted it on Nathan's right shoulder, and as expected he didn't flinch when she had done so, after all, she assumed this wasn't his first time making a Knight's vow.
"You can go dismiss yourself now, and if you even attempt to betray me, you'll be killed before doing so. Now I'm sure this information isn't new since you've probably done Knight's vows before in the past."
Lady Melissa said as she took a breather before she soon continued her sentence to Nathan.
"However, when I find out that you try to betray me, I'll make all of your loved ones' life a living nightmare, and I wasn't lying when I said that."
Lady Melissa said as she continued to stare daggers at Nathan, who gulped as he proceeded to nod his head, making sure that he'd never betray Lady Melissa, or even attempt to do so in the future.
"Oh and if you don't have any loved ones that's not a problem for me, I'll make all of the people you came in contact within your life, make their lives a living nightmare."
Lady Melissa said as she gave him a smile, sending shivers through all of his body, to which he nodded his head too once more.
"Now, if you have nothing else to say to me, you can see yourself out, oh and remember you start tomorrow, I expect you to be punctual or else you'll be fired."
Lady Melissa said as she gave Nathan another smile as he thanked her and bowed his head down, leaving her room soon after.
"Come in."
Lady Melissa said as she sensed another presence from the door (she always did) and instead of someone knocking on the door like usual.
"Good Evening Lady Melissa, I am here to talk to you regarding the new bodyguards, is it alright if I ask you a couple of questions?"
Justin politely asked as he wondered whether his master would allow him to ask questions- since he had more than a few that were filling up his head.
"Go ahead."
Lady Melissa calmly responded as Justin nodded his head, ready to ask her his questions whilst she patiently waited for the interrogation.
"Am I not that good of a bodyguard that you need to hire multiple of them? Or is this because of the mistakes that I made these past few days?"
Justin said, asking Lady Melissa as he secretly felt insecure as if his job was at risk because of the other bodyguards that Lady Melissa was hiring.
Lady Melissa wanted to laugh at his face- but she resisted the urge to. One of the reasons why she had hired more bodyguards was Justin.
She felt bad for him and the number of hours he had to stay up on a daily basis since she herself went through the same thing almost every day.
Although Lady Melissa didn't look like she cared for any of her employees, secretly, deep deep down in her heart she cared for them and their well-being.
The important ones at least, the ones that weren't could go rot in hell for an eternity, not like she'd care though.
Though admittedly, one of the reasons why Lady Melissa had decided to hire them was just in case Justin made any more mistakes the other bodyguards would still be able to protect her nonetheless.
She wasn't going to admit it though, she didn't want to admit it, not to Justin at least.
"Relax Justin, don't worry I won't fire you."
Lady Melissa said to Justin.
'At least not yet.'
Lady Melissa wanted to add to her sentence but remembering Justin's worried expression earlier she decided against it knowing how he probably was going to overthink.
Lady Melissa had kind of assumed that he was an overthinker like her, with all of the actions that he had done, which Lady Melissa had observed.
After all, Lady Melissa can't help but be bored sometimes, and she would end up glancing at Justin for a few seconds.
He noticed though; of course but simply ignored it thinking that Lady Melissa was probably staring at something beside him or behind him.
"And I only hired them because of how dangerous these past few days have been with everything that had happened."
Lady Melissa had already searched for the bodyguards long before that but she wasn't going to tell Justin that, she simply made up a reasonable excuse that he'd believe.
