Chapter 223 - 223

Lady Melissa opened her eyes as she was ready to start her day( not like they weren't open yet before) with her new bodyguards.

Lady Melissa left her room as she was greeted by Nathan, she was still adjusting to seeing different faces and not Justin every day.

Nonetheless, though, it was a pleasant thing since she got easily sick and tired of Justin after seeing his face over and over again.

She was sure that out of everyone she saw the most, she saw Justin the most.

Though that was reasonable since Justin was her bodyguard- and her only bodyguard- at least in the past.

Lady Melissa made her way downstairs, as she decided that she'd send the King a letter to request an audience with him.

She resented going to the royal palace, maybe she even despised it, because it would bring back memories of the Crown Prince.

Lady Melissa had gotten overseeing the Crown Prince and Camilia together since she was sure she'd be seeing them a lot in the future.

Though it did sting a little whenever she was reminded of the Crown Prince, she knew that he was a piece of trash.

Which certainly helped her get over her seeing the Crown Prince and Camilia together faster.

Lady Melissa would feel bad about the fact that Camilia was engaged to the Crown Prince if she hadn't tried to murder her.

Whether Camilia actually had tried to murder her in real life, or in her own dreams, nonetheless Lady Melissa hated her with a burning passion.

Though the one she hated the most would be the Crown Prince, and it'd stay that way.

No one could compare to the Crown Prince on how easy it was to hate someone.

Lady Melissa decided that she'd write a letter to the King to request an audience after she ate her breakfast, which she was currently doing right now.

Lady Melissa still wasn't used to seeing Nathan around instead of Justin, but it wasn't that big of an adjustment other than the fact that the person who watched her every move every day was replaced, at least for the next few hours or so.

Lady Melissa had finished breakfast as she walked back to her room, yawning and stretching her arms a bit.

"Sophia! Come here!"

Lady Melissa shouted as Sophia quickly came to her room, knocking on the door before she got Lady Melissa's permission to enter.

"Good Morning Lady Melissa, why did you call me?"

Sophia said as she bowed her head down, greeting Lady Melissa whilst she did so.

"Fetch me some paper, ink and an envelope, I need to write something."

Lady Melissa said as Sophia quickly nodded her head, leaving Lady Melissa's room to fetch some paper ink and envelope for her.

Sophia soon came back with the envelope, paper on one hand as she used her other hand to hold the ink and open the door, somehow she had even managed to knock on Lady Melissa's door with all the things she was carrying.

"I've brought the materials, Lady Melissa, is there anything that you need me to do?"

Sophia asked as Lady Melissa shook her head, as Sophia soon excused herself, bowing down to Lady Melissa as she glanced at Nathan, leaving Lady Melissa's room soon after.

Lady Melissa raised her eyebrows at the interaction in front of her, was Nathan perhaps interested in Sophia? Perhaps she had seen it wrongly but the way his eyes stared at her- and the both of them had even made eye contact with each other.

Perhaps she was overthinking it(like usual) or perhaps she was right about it.

Whatever it was, she decided not to involve herself in her employee's business, especially when it didn't include her.

As long as it didn't affect their workforce of course then she'd be more than happy.

Lady Melissa shook off the thought of Nathan perhaps being interested in Sophia as she started to think of a way or a few ways on how she'd start the letter.

There wasn't really a guide on how to write a letter to the King-or to any of the royal family members for that matter.

Lady Melissa did, however, think of an idea or two on how to start her letter after a few minutes, she'd of course greet the King, that was just manners.

Even though she had a higher position than most nobles and could probably get away with not greeting the King on a letter, she still did, after all, it was like a necessity to her.

It was common manners and Lady Melissa just didn't want to be seen as rude and impolite, especially to someone who was in the highest position possible- the King.

Lady Melissa was sure that the impression people had of her would get worse if she didn't even greet the King in a letter when she was requesting to have an audience with him.

After Lady Melissa had greeted the King, she decided that it'd be best for her to ask a few things and then she'd ask for a private audience with him.

Lady Melissa didn't know whether she was doing her greetings correctly or not since she had never written to the King- or to any royal family member before, including the Crown Prince.

Well Lady Melissa did write to the Crown Prince several times but she'd give him the letter when they met face to face, so he was forced to give her a smile and accept it whilst he threw the letters, not that Lady Melissa would know.

Though she wouldn't be surprised if the Crown Prince had thrown all the letters she had written for him, it was a pity for all the blood, sweat and tears she had put into the multiple letters.

They were love letters, some of them were poetic, while most of them was a sad attempt at trying to be poetic.

Some others though were just Lady Melissa confessing her love to him( even though he already knew that she was in love with him) and just a reminder of the little moments they shared amongst one another.
