After many failed attempts many thrown papers and many inks wasted, Lady Melissa had finally finished writing her letter to the King.
It was the best she could come up with, she just hoped that the King liked it enough to accept her request to have an audience with him.
Lady Melissa called for Derreck as she handed the letter to him and asked him to send it to the royal palace.
To which he of course complied, she'd probably be getting a response in a few days, or if she was that unlucky, it'd be a few weeks, or if she was really unlucky then it'd be in a few months.
Lady Melissa just hoped that the God of luck was on her side.
Lady Melissa would just have to patiently wait till the King would reply to her- or in this case most likely one of his employees to reply to her.
The King couldn't be bothered to write a letter back to Lady Melissa in his own handwriting when he had many other things to do.
After all, nobody ever said that being a King was easy and fun, on the contrary, it was quite the complete opposite of it.
Lady Melissa was sure that the King would reply to her letter- she knew that it wouldn't take up to a year, only a couple of months at most.
Since she was a part of one of the founding families, he could ignore her letter for days, weeks and even months.
The King could simply make up an excuse that he was busy if Lady Melissa ever tried to confront him, which she knew she wouldn't ever do.
Who would ever dare to confront the King? Nobody who had common sense would do so.
People valued their lives and preferred it if they didn't die, at least not in the hands of their own King simply because of the fact that they tried to confront him on a small matter.
If the King wasn't planning on replying anytime soon though Lady Melissa was more than ready to come to the royal palace unannounced.
However, it'd probably have to be along with her mother or father, or the both of them if she did go to the royal palace unannounced.
Lady Melissa decided that she'd just let fate do it's own thing, and for the meantime she'd wait though no promises that she wouldn't go to the royal palace unannounced.
Lady Melissa remembered that she had to plan a meeting with Duke Alphonso, Duke Mason and Duke Gaston.
She'd have to write a letter to each one of them and ask them the day and time that they're available, or she could either just write them a letter and only put the day and time for the four of them to meet.
Since Lady Melissa had already done the latter option a number of times, she decided that she'd be nice for today and try to do the first option instead.
Lady Melissa would each individually message them a letter regarding the time they were free- though she was going to have a problem with Duke Alphonso.
'Scratch that plan.'
Lady Melissa thought before she decided that instead of asking all three of them, she'd just ask Duke Mason and Duke Gaston and then she'll just do the latter option to Duke Alphonso.
Lady Melissa decided that she'll use a carrier pigeon to deliver the letter to Duke Alphonso, though there was always the chance that the pigeon could get caught.
Lady Melissa thought of an idea, what if she used 'that' spell? The one that would allow magicians and sorcerers to take control of animals.
The only catch was that the spell wouldn't allow people to take control of big animals, at least not to Lady Melissa's knowledge.
Perhaps one would be able to do it with the help of dark magic- though that was a story for another day.
Lady Melissa thought of the pros and cons of the spell for a second, the main con being that she had to find a ton of rare stuff for the spell to work.
As well as the fact that she needed to sacrifice a sizable sum of her blood and put it on the bird's body so she could be able to control it.
Lady Melissa decided that it'd be best for her to do it, even if she wouldn't get caught by the guards if she just used a regular carrier pigeon, she wanted to do it just in case anything happened she could redirect the pigeon somewhere else.
Lady Melissa let out a sigh, she didn't want to use much of her blood but this was inevitable.
She didn't want a chance of the carrier pigeon being caught by the guards, and even when she was going to be controlling the carrier pigeon she'd still be having a chance of the pigeon getting caught by the guards.
At least this way it was safer- at least Lady Melissa hoped that it was safer since she'd be in complete control of the carrier pigeon.
Lady Melissa would just put her blood in the bird, and then she'd wash it off so it wouldn't alert others with the fact that there was blood on a bird's body.
She was sure that if she didn't wash the blood off of the bird's body then it would certainly raise a few questions- especially when the pigeon was heading to the royal palace.
Lady Melissa knew that the royal palace's security was tight- with the fact that Duke Gaston was one of the generals, and the main one of course it'd be even though he mostly just appeared during wars and such.
Speaking of wars and everything, if Lady Melissa was correct, then war or two would be happening in a month from now on, and Duke Gaston would be leading the war, along with the Crown Prince.
The Crown Prince would be forced to come because of the King- in hopes of spicing up the competition and killing off one of his children.
