"We've arrived, Lady Melissa."
The driver said as he opened the carriage door for her as she slowly made her way down the carriage, inspecting her surroundings just in case there was anyone following her.
She hadn't felt anybody following her after the carriage incident, where the Shayla estate's carriage or her carriage got inspected upon.
Lady Melissa checked her surroundings- after all, who knew even though there wasn't anyone following her, what if there were soldiers who were going to inspect the Shayla estate?
Lady Melissa couldn't have that happening- it showed that the royal family didn't trust the Shayla family, one of the main founding families.
Besides, Lady Melissa had a few things she'd prefer that the royal family didn't find- though if needed she'd be able to hide them from the royal family.
The only problem was that it needed a little bit of blood, and after the incidents from a few days ago, Lady Melissa would prefer if she kept her hands clean, at least for the meantime.
Lady Melissa had enough bloodshed within the few months in this life, and she'd like to prevent herself from causing more.
Though if it was needed, she wouldn't hesitate to get her hands a little dirty every now and then, though it wouldn't be directly from her.
It would be one of her bodyguards of course.
Lady Melissa made her way up the stairs and into her room, as she let out a sigh before entering, someone was in her room, she was irritated, who was it this time?
Lady Melissa quickly opened the door as she shut it, making sure she had quickly chanted a spell to make the room soundproof while doing so, not wanting to risk anything, especially since the soldiers were going to come to her house, probably.
Lady Melissa was met with Duke Gaston who stood face to face with her as soon as she turned her back- she had forgotten to breathe for a second with how close he was.
"Why'd you come here?"
Lady Melissa asked, not caring for manners anymore since Duke Gaston had practically stalked her the entire time she went to the orphanage and back home.
Almost the entire trip- since he had stopped following her when the soldiers were inspecting her carriage for some reason.
"I apologize for doubting you."
Duke Gaston said an apologetic look on his face as Lady Melissa resisted the urge to give him a smile.
"Don't be."
Instead, Lady Melissa opted to say that, the words sounding colder out loud than she had expected them to be.
"Oh and, the meeting will be tomorrow, on Thursday, three P.M. in hunter's lake, don't worry about any of the employees."
Lady Melissa said, a glint of excitement in her eyes as she smiled at Duke Gaston who enthusiastically nodded his head.
"Alright, now is there anything else you'd like to tell me, Duke Gaston? Because if not, then you're free to leave right now."
Lady Melissa said as Duke Gaston tried to form words- yet for some reason, he couldn't bring himself to say the sentence he had prepared.
Eventually, after a few minutes of constantly trying, Duke Gaston gave up on trying to tell Lady Melissa something, though it wasn't that important anyway- or at least Duke Gaston tried to convince himself that it wasn't that important, besides, if he ever said it might ruin the relationship they have right now, and he didn't want to do so.
"I guess I'll go now, it was a pleasure seeing you, I'll see you tomorrow Lady Melissa. Goodbye, for the meantime."
Duke Gaston said, as he quickly added the last part, since the goodbye sounded like a forever, as if he wasn't ever going to see her again.
"Goodbye."
Lady Melissa blankly said, as Duke Gaston suddenly teleported out of her room- back to his estate, she assumed.
Lady Melissa turned off the spell as she unlocked her door, she had already closed the binds earlier and decided that it'd be fine if she kept the binds.
Lady Melissa now just needed to tell Duke Mason about the meeting venue- surprisingly out of the three Dukes, he was the one she had seen the least when usually it was him that she'd see the most, though it wasn't much of a bother to Lady Melissa, at least she convinced herself so.
Lady Melissa wanted to teleport to his estate, but she wasn't even sure whether he was currently at home or jot- and even if he was, chances were that he was probably busy with work, after all, he was a Duke, as carefree as he seemed he was piled with work every day, week and month.
Lady Melissa decided that she'd just send one of her bodyguards to Duke Mason to tell him that, as there was a knock on the door, Lady Melissa told the person to quickly come inside.
"What is it, Clara?"
Lady Melissa asked her bodyguard, who had been trying to enter her room the entire time but for some reason couldn't.
"Are you alright Lady Melissa? You're not hurt are you?"
Clara_ asked, her tone filled with concern, not wanting to get fired from her job.
"I'm completely fine, besides, why did you disappear from my sight?"
Lady Melissa asked as she was quite angry- how many of her bodyguards would keep making mistakes? And this was their first day.
Lady Melissa was seriously considering firing all of them except for Justin, after all, it seemed as if most of them couldn't even do their jobs properly.
"I apologize Lady Melissa, when I followed you up the stairs, the door closed on its own and when I tried to open it, I couldn't. It was as if it was locked."
Clara said as she explained herself, bowing her head down to Lady Melissa multiple times in hopes of her master apologizing to her.
"What do you mean?"
Lady Melissa asked, confused by her bodyguard's explanation on why she wasn't beside her.
