Lady Melissa got up from her bed as she was more than ready to start her day, after getting an hour of sleep, which was more than enough for her to function. Considering how bad her sleeping schedule had been the past few days, Lady Melissa was more than thankful to even get an hour of sleep.
It was like a miracle to her considering how rough the past couple of days had been- especially for her with everything she had dealt with, it was as if Lady Melissa could never catch a break, once a problem was solved, another door would soon come knocking at her door.
Lady Melissa made her way downstairs as she saw her parents eating with each other as she greeted them before she went outside, her teacher, Duchess Ella was going to be back today, and she was curious to see how she had been doing ever since her last visit, meeting Duchess Ella.
The Duchess greeted her with a smile on her face, she had missed her favourite student and teaching in general, she missed walking as well with how overprotective her husband was over her when the both of them knew she could handle it on her own, by herself.
It was annoying dealing with all the affection from her husband especially since she was home 24/7, though admittedly she did like the affection too, and her husband had actually taken care of the paperwork the entire time whilst she was recovering.
Which was honestly sweet of him- and Duchess Ella was more than thankful for it, she was able to properly rest for the meantime (even if she didn't want to).
Lady Melissa greeted Duchess Ella back with a small smile as she gave the Duchess a few jokes every now and then, receiving a few laughs from her teacher as the lesson was about to start.
Lady Melissa would never admit it out loud, in fear of raising Duchess Ella's ego which was high enough as it was, but her favourite teacher was Duchess Ella if that wasn't obvious enough with how comfortable she was around her.
In a way, Duchess Ella was sort of a mother figure to her, perhaps even better than her own mother herself, she genuinely cared for Lady Melissa, and so did she care for Duchess Ella as well.
It was a relationship built on trust and tough love, though Duchess Ella wasn't afraid to show her affection to Lady Melissa when she needed it.
Lady Melissa finished her lesson as she wiped the sweat off her forehead with the towel she had, she missed working out with Duchess Ella like this.
"Water?"
Duchess Ella asked Lady Melissa, as she offered a bottle of water to her, a lazy grin on her face as Lady Melissa politely declined her offer, she wasn't feeling too thirsty.
"Suit yourself."
Duchess Ella blankly stated before she chugged the bottle of water- the bottle soon being finished after a couple of seconds.
Lady Melissa was comfortable with Duchess Ella more than she was to any other noble, or teacher for that matter.
Duchess Ella wasn't being formal, and Lady Melissa liked that, she could joke around with her teacher, and she wouldn't even be offended by it.
That was one of the reasons why Duchess Ella was her favourite teacher, she was always comfortable around her, and with her around, there was no doubt that she would always find some way to cheer Lady Melissa up.
"I'll see you next time."
Duchess Ella said, as she bid Lady Melissa goodbye, who did the same to her before she went back inside the Shayla estate, hungry.
Lady Melissa had learnt that it was best to work out before she ate, and not after, apparently, she would eat less if she worked out before eating, though the same couldn't be said if she worked out after eating.
Lady Melissa headed up the stairs, as she tied her hair up, she was a little nervous about the meet-up later on in hunter's lake, but nonetheless, she admitted that she was a little ecstatic about it, and she was more curious than ever to see how the three of them would interact with each other on first-hand.
She still had a few hours before she'd go there, and in the meantime, she decided that it'd be best for her to sort out some paperwork- they always came in non-stop when Lady Melissa had just finished them.
It was a never-ending cycle of countless paperwork suddenly coming in after Lady Melissa would finally finish them- another reason why she couldn't catch a break.
Lady Melissa wondered which duo would be best together, perhaps it would be Duke Gaston and Duke Mason? Or Duke Mason and Duke Alphonso?
Duke Gaston had the brawns, and so did Duke Mason, though admittedly, the both of them were incredibly smart, though their intelligence in total wouldn't be able to beat either Duke Alphonso's or even Lady Melissa's.
Duke Mason and Duke Alphonso would be an interesting duo, with Duke Mason constantly annoying Duke Alphonso and everything for the fun of it, and Duke Alphonso getting annoyed by Duke Mason.
Duke Alphonso was no doubt the smartest amongst the four of them, that is if Lady Melissa wasn't a part of the group, which she, fortunately, or unfortunately was.
She'd say that her intelligence with Duke Alphonso was tied, they both were each academically talented, and recently, Lady Melissa had just been getting better and better in her studies, getting 100s for all her tests, something she planned to continue doing, she was starting to like studying for some weird reason.
Lady Melissa knew that just by looking at Duke Alphonso, he was filled with determination, just like the other two Dukes.
Soon enough, two hours had passed as Lady Melissa quickly went down to the carriage, whether it was a coincidence or not, Sophia was busy running errands that she couldn't accompany Lady Melissa to the capital, which was essentially a good thing.
