Chapter 237 - 237

Lady Melissa had Nathan with her though, and she hadn't explained the situation to him, but she knew that he'd be quick to catch on, and that without a doubt, he wouldn't ask her any questions.

He had learned from his past mistakes and even went so far as to apologize to Lady Melissa, which Lady Melissa had accepted, as she sent him a glare, warning him not to ever do it again.

"Don't ask any questions."

Lady Melissa warned Nathan, she wanted to remind him- in case he had forgotten what had happened yesterday, as Nathan nodded his head.

Lady Melissa bribed the driver once more to bring them to hunter's lake as Nathan merely minded his own business, he didn't need to see what she was doing to know what she was doing, though admittedly he didn't expect her to do this, or maybe he did, deep down.

Lady Melissa was intimidating, even for someone like Nathan, though all bosses were intimidating, to a certain extent at least.

Lady Melissa stared at the window as thoughts filled her head, busy with Camilia and so, speaking of Camila, the Crown Prince and her hadn't had any more public appearances so far, which was a surprise to Lady Melissa.

She was starting to wonder whether it was a political marriage, but then again, Camilia had nothing to offer to the Crown Prince, at least Lady Melissa thought so.

Or perhaps Camilia had some kind of blackmail against the Crown Prince that she was going to use on him if he didn't listen to her orders, though admittedly, ordering for him to marry her and act like a fake couple sounded too complex and difficult, though Lady Melissa still kept her options open.

She knew that sometimes the answers to questions like these were the most complex and confusing ones- hence why she had kept an open mind when she thought of Camilia and the Crown Prince.

Lady Melissa wondered, what if the Crown Prince had perhaps just fallen in love and married Camilia? But she couldn't believe it- or rather she wouldn't believe it, there was no way someone as insufferable and annoying as him would fall in love with someone like her.

It was ironic really, considering that the both of them were a match made in heaven, or rather hell.

Lady Melissa still hadn't gotten any more news regarding Camilia's background, it seemed that somebody had paid good money for her name to be disappeared from a lot of records, which had only piqued Lady Melissa's interest in the girl once more.

Who was Camilia? And why did she try to kill Lady Melissa?

Lady Melissa was irritated that she couldn't answer the questions with the amount of time she had been given to find out more about the girl, something she regretted not doing earlier.

Lady Melissa got off the carriage as she took a few moments to just process her surroundings. It was beautiful, and it had certainly been a long time since she had last been here, perhaps a couple of years or so.

Lady Melissa had spent a good chunk of her childhood here, in hunter's lake, and she had grown fond of the lake, even if her parents themselves didn;t know about it.

Lady Melissa was greeted by the numerous employees who stood outside, greeting her as one of them led the way where they had set up the tea party for her as Nathan followed Lady Melissa and the peasant.

Lady Melissa was going to be having a tea party with the three of them, she hadn't told them of course, since she knew that they'd most likely say no if they found out they were going to be participating in some kind of tea party- and not some kind of  meeting of sorts.

Lady Melissa decided that she'd make a tea party since they were obviously going to be here for a long time, and she didn't want to starve whilst doing so.

Lady Melissa's eyes darted to the man beside her, Nathan, he was a few feet standing beside her as he observed her silently.

Lady Melissa knew that the Dukes would be more than uncomfortable with Nathan there, but she decided that it wouldn't hurt, besides, it wasn't as if he could tell anyone.

It was also just in case that something would happen to her, after all she was expecting a violent outburst from one of them, mainly Duke Mason, since this was the first time all three of them would be meeting up.

Lady Melissa knew that the three of them didn't exactly have the best past with each other though it wasn't the worse either, so Lady Melissa decided that it'd be fine if she just paired them all together, and even if they hated each other, each of them needed to learn how to trust each other, whether they liked it or not.

There was no doubt that the four of them were going to be seeing each other more often in the future, especially considering the fact that they were all a part of her rebellion against the Crown Prince, and Lady Melissa was planning on getting them to like each other, at least enough to trust one another when it came to serious scenarios.

Lady Melissa's thoughts were soon interrupted as she sensed a presence approaching her, looking up as she could hear heavy footsteps.

It was Duke Gaston in all his glory, the meeting wasn't for another thirty minutes or so, so she was a little surprised to see him so early.

Lady Melissa gladly greeted him with a smile though, as he did the same before his eyes landed on Nathan, skeptically eyeing him up and down.

"Is he the one that came and asked for my response the other day when you sent me a letter?"

Duke Gaston whispered to Lady Melissa who merely nodded her head in response to his question.
