A day had passed, and Lady Melissa had been drinking coffee the entire night- somehow, these past few days, even though she wasn't getting much sleep, her eye bags weren't that evident.
Although based on how grumpy she was during mornings- it'd be more than evident that she didn't get any sleep, or either that she hated people, or wasn't a morning person, or all three of the options.
Lady Melissa heard a knock on the door as she let Sophia inside.
"Lady Melissa, may I talk to you for a second? In private."
Sophia said, as she momentarily glanced at Nathan who was currently guarding his master.
Lady Melissa signalled for Nathan to leave the room, she could trust Sophia, after all, the girl had even gone so far to sacrifice her life for her- even if it was in her past life.
"What is it?"
Lady Melissa asked as she let out a yawn.
"I have something to tell you."
Sophia said nervously, as she held her fists together, afraid of how Lady Melissa would react by what she was going to or about to tell her.
"Go on."
Lady Melissa said, not paying attention to her personal maid as she fiddled with her pen.
"Justin is courting me."
Sophia blurted out, her cheeks flushed with red as Lady Melissa finally looked up from her desk, a lazy grin in her face.
She might or might have not given Justin some advice about her maid and everything, even though she tried to tell herself to mind her own business.
"That's good for you."
Lady Melissa said, maintaining a stoic facade as she averted her gaze from Sophia back to the pen.
Sophia was left speechless, she hadn't expected Lady Melissa to react this way, she had thought of her master to fire her or something- and perhaps even harm her, even though there was no sort of no dating rule in the Shayla estate, she hadn't expected Lady Melissa to react so calmly.
"Excuse me, Lady Melissa, but are you okay with the both of us seeing each other? I understand if you want to fire me for doing so since dating another employee who works under the same boss might be difficult and cause issues."
Sophia said she was ready to sacrifice her job if Lady Melissa told her she'd get fired.
"So, you're taking Justin up on his offer?"
Lady Melissa asked Sophia, completely ignoring the question she had asked Lady Melissa, and giving her a question of her own.
"I'm not sure- but if you say that you don't want me and him to see each other I won't."
Sophia firmly said, as Lady Melissa could see the loyalty she had for her master in her own eyes, and she was a little touched by how loyal Sophia was to her, but she knew that Sophia would be over the moon if she said yes.
So, Lady Melissa said yes.
"It's fine if you want to go out with Justin, though if it ever interferes with your work, the both of you will be fired. Is that understood?"
Lady Melissa sternly said as she could see the happy look on Sophia's face- as much as she had tried to hide it from her master.
"Thank you, Lady Melissa."
Sophia said as she bowed her head, excusing herself as she left Lady Melisssa's room, she still hadn't grasped everything that had happened- how her master said yes and how Justin had wanted to court her.
'I should probably start looking for another personal maid, just in case Sophia ever plans to settle down with Justin or if their relationship ever interferes with work.'
Lady Melissa thought it was better to be safe than sorry, besides it wouldn't hurt if she had another personal maid.
Lady Melissa called Justin into her room as he approached her.
"Congratulations."
Lady Melissa blankly said, as Justin was confused- what was she congratulating him on now?
Had he somehow managed to mess up again and she was going to fire him? But based on the look on his master's face he shook his head- she looked pleased.
"Calm down, I won't fire you."
Lady Melissa said, reading Justin's mind.
"You took my advice, good luck."
Lady Melissa said, as Justin instantly understood what she was talking about- his stoic face had turned overjoyed within a few seconds.
Lady Melissa soon dismissed Justin, as he exited her room, thankful that Sophia had accepted his courting- he was going to talk to her later.
Lady Melissa could feel the stares of Nathan, who was probably a little sad, finding out that Sophia was being courted by Justin- though it wasn't any of her problem.
"Nathan, I need you to find a few personal maids for me, with the best education and skills and everything, I expect it to be done tomorrow."
Lady Melissa said to Nathan as he blankly stared at her, was she perhaps planning to fire Sophia?
Nathan, although he was curious about why Lady Melissa wanted him to do such a thing, he decided that it was better not to ask her questions- he had already learnt from last time.
Lady Melissa wouldn't admit it, but she had gotten attached to some of the people here- more than she ever should've and truthfully she was scared of losing the people she loved once more.
In her first life at least, the only ones she had loved were only a few, not even reaching ten people.
This life though, her loved ones were more than ten people, and she had so much more to lose in this life, which was why she couldn't lose, not to the Crown Prince, or to anyone.
Lady Melissa had rebuilt her life, a life that she had hated most of the time because of the people that would surround her- into a life that she still hated, but enjoyed now, and she had a goal most importantly.
A goal to take down the Crown Prince, no matter what it would take.
