Lady Melissa let out a yawn, her eyes filled with tears that were threatening to fall- which was because of the yawn that she just had earlier, but before she could use her hands to brush off the tears in her eyes, somebody else had done so, and that somebody else was Duke Gaston.
Lady Melissa had just exited the carriage, and she was sleepy, she had sensed someone's presence, but she didn't know that it was Duke Gaston of all people.
Though the moment he had even laid a hand on her face, or any part of her body for that matter, her instincts had kicked in, as did her fast reflexes, punching the man in the gut.
Duke Gaston, considering the fact that he was the main general for the army's troops, had fast reflexes as well, perhaps even faster than Lady Melissa's, as he swiftly dodged the punch, as Lady Melissa created a satisfying 'whoosh' sound in the air because of the impact her hand had created as Duke Gaston felt relieved that he had managed to dodge her punch, since judging from the sound that the air created, he wouldn't be exactly 'okay' if he was hit by something that strong.
Duke Gaston had successfully wiped the tear-off of Lady Melissa's eyes, his hand was quicker than her fast reflexes.
"What a warm welcome."
Duke Gaston sarcastically said, a warm smile on his face as Lady Melissa let out another yawn, using her hand to cover her mouth before she soon replied to Duke Gaston's sarcastic comment.
"Of course."
Lady Melissa said, as she replied to Duke Gaston's sarcastic comment, leading the man to let out a chuckle in return at her silly antics, though he couldn't help but feel that they were cute for some reason.
"Now if you may excuse me, I have somewhere to get to and someone to talk to, goodbye."
Lady Melissa said bluntly as Duke Gaston nodded his head, seeing her figure slowly and slowly disappear from his sight as he did as well, having a number of issues that he needed to solve.
Even though this was Lady Melissa's second time meeting the Queen, or talking to her privately (at least in this life), her heart couldn't help but skip a beat or two as she stood outside the door.
Lady Melissa took a deep breath, before deciding that it was time for her to come inside, considering the fact that it had been five minutes she stood outside, trying to calm her nerves.
She didn't want to keep the Queen waiting after all, not far from it- she preferred not to get scolded by the Queen.
Lady Melissa entered the room, the Queen already sitting down on her chair, as she looked sad about something- almost as if she was reminiscing about her past.
Lady Melissa greeted the Queen, as the Queen quickly changed her facial expression from a sad one to a happy one, or in the very least a more….alright face compared to earlier.
The Queen greeted Lady Melissa as well, a kind smile on her face as Lady Melissa apologized for her tardiness, an apology which was accepted by the Queen who simply laughed at her antics.
The Queen, thankfully, was not angry at Lady Melissa for her tardiness, though she didn't look happy about it either, so for the meantime, Lady Melissa would consider this a good sign, that or an okay one.
Just as the Queen was about to say something, she was hastily interrupted by a knock on the door, as one of the guards rushed to tell her something, based on how hastily the knocking was, it was obvious that whoever was knocking it was pretty distressed with the whole thing.
The Queen had noticed this as well, as her facial expression turned serious, quickly telling the guard to come inside- as he did so, his breath panting while he was about to tell her the reason why he had come so hurriedly.
"The Concubine is hurting Lady Camilia."
The guard said, as the Queen immediately stood up, carrying her dress as she walked hurriedly, trying to stop whatever fight was happening as she knew that somehow if she hadn't stopped it the blame would go to her.
Lady Melissa followed the Queen as well, as she trailed behind her, interested in the scene that the guard had been earlier talking about, as the guard led the Queen to where the two noblewomen were fighting with each other.
They were fighting in the garden of all places- as it looked like the both of them were having a tea party together, similar to the one that Lady Melissa and the Queen was having inside of the palace, the difference was that their tea party was outside.
Lady Melissa wanted to laugh at the scene in front of her, but she refrained from doing so as she maintained her worried demeanour, seeing the King's favourite concubine getting furious at Lady Camilia for some reason.
The Queen, worriedly told the Concubine to get herself together- reminding her that there were people watching at all times, not like Lady Melisssa would know though, considering the fact that the Queen had whispered her words to the Concubine, not loud enough for Lady Melissa to hear them.
The concubine, who had earlier been causing a fuss, threw items at Lady Camilia as Lady Melissa watched in amusement- already imagining the headlines the next day, 'The King's favourite concubine goes crazy and harms the Crown Prince's fiancee!'
Admittedly, Lady Melissa wasn't exactly the best when it came to thinking of titles, though this was at least a good enough title, it would certainly gain people's attention, though the title was too long.
The concubine, although she still looked very much angry, after the Queen had whispered something to her, calmed down, though that didn't stop her from sending Lady Camilia, death stares.
Lady Camilia was being aided by the bodyguards, as well as some of the royal palace's employees, as it seemed as if the news of their fight had already been spread amongst the royal palace employees.
