"We need to get you back to the Shayla estate Lady Melissa, I'm afraid that there's been a dispatch of soldiers all around this place, and I'm sure some of them aren't the most...friendly ones."
Justin said as Lady Melissa nodded her head.
"I'll explain everything later, in the meantime, Duke Gaston will be following us."
Lady Melissa said, as all of her bodyguards mutually nodded their heads at her response.
Lady Melissa had assumed that her father or mother, or even perhaps the both of them had sent Shayla's estates soldiers to fetch her, though they weren't probably in the best or safest ways if the Shayla estate's soldiers were to fetch her.
"Where's the carriage?"
Lady Melissa asked.
"We travelled by horse here Lady Melissa, since this was a search for you, and the roads were very bumpy, we thought that it would be a waste of time to use a carriage."
Nathan said, as he explained to Lady Melissa who nodded her head multiple times hearing Nathan's explanation, instead she agreed with it, rather than being ignorant or such.
"I'm assuming that you only brought along 5 horses with you as well? One person gets one horse?"
Lady Melissa asked, as the bodyguards mutually nodded their heads together as she let out a sigh.
She couldn't blame them, since she wouldn't think that someone would be lost here.
"Didn't you get a tracking location of where I am? How could you not have brought an extra horse with you?"
Lady Melissa asked, as she suddenly remembered about her ring and bracelet.
"Lady Melissa, your ring and bracelet, didn't work when I tried to find your whereabouts, I believe that it's been disabled since everyone else's didn't work as well when we tried to search for your whereabouts using them."
Justin said as he explained to Lady Melissa how they had actually tried to use the ring and the bracelet at first- yet for some unknown reason, it just wouldn't work.
"I see, I'll have to make some improvements to it later on then."
Lady Melissa said, mumbling under her breath to herself, as Duke Gaston overheard the conversation- wondering what Lady Melissa was talking about to her bodyguard before he remembered the ring and bracelet on his finger.
Duke Gaston had initially thought that the ring had been given by someone special to her, but hearing this news, he let out a sigh of relief, he still had a chance with her then, since she wasn't taken- at least not yet.
"Two If you ride with someone else, so I and Duke Gaston will have our own individual horses."
Lady Melissa said, ordering her bodyguards, as Duke Gaston was honestly a little disappointed by this since he had thought that perhaps, he and Lady Melissa would be sharing a horse together with each other.
The two unfortunate bodyguards that would be riding a horse together, as well as the unlucky horse, would be Nathan's horse, and Clara would be sitting with him.
Justin on the other hand was lucky to not be a part of the unfortunate group, and Lady Melissa's remaining two bodyguards were forced to go on the horse together, not like either of them minded that much though.
Lady Melissa's horse was positioned in such a way that it would be in the middle, there would be a horse on her left, and another horse on her right, and Justin's horse would be in front of her since he would be the one leading her to the Shayla estate.
Duke Gaston was going to be behind her, although Lady Melissa felt as if that Duke Gaston would prefer going to the royal palace, and that she had even given him full permission to do so, the man had insisted on accompanying her home inside until she was safe.
Lady Melissa suddenly remembered something, the ring and the bracelets. How come out of all five of her bodyguards, none of them was able to track down her location and bring an extra horse or two for her and Duke Gaston?
"What happened to the rings and the bodyguards, how come none of you brought an extra horse or horses for us?"
Lady Melissa asked, although it was a question, one that they had complete free will to answer or not, the question had somehow been structured like an order, and if they didn't answer the question, or answer it correctly then they would be facing punishment.
"We've actually tried that; however, the rings and bracelets weren't working when we tried to track down your location."
Justin said as he explained to Lady Melissa the reason why he and none of the bodyguards were able to find Lady Melissa faster, as well as to bring her an extra horse or two because they hadn't expected to find her here.
After all, it had already been fifteen hours since Lady Melissa had disappeared, so there was a good chance that she had already been dead, and she couldn't exactly blame them for thinking so, since if it weren't for her reflexes and skills, she probably would've been dead now, yet she had managed to survive.
"I'll have to see what's going on with them later on and fix them if they're broken."
Lady Melissa said to herself, as she mumbled under her breath, Duke Gaston overhearing the conversation that she had shared with Justin earlier, his eyebrows raised, wondering what the two of them were talking about, as he couldn't recall why they would be mentioning a ring or a bracelet for that matter.
Duke Gaston suddenly remembered about the ring and bracelet in Lady Melissa's hands, perhaps they were talking about that?
Duke Gaston let out a sigh of relief, he had originally thought that the ring was from someone- perhaps a secret lover or fiance of hers, though knowing this newfound information, he felt as if he had a chance, and all he needed to do was to take advantage of the opportunity.
