It was a good thing that Lady Melissa had immediately made everything soundproof, creating a bubble with only the four of them inside as there was another sniper, and in that bubble, everything was soundproof.
Meaning that Lady Melissa or Duke Alphonso could both scream their battle cries as loud as they wanted to without alerting anyone, although Lady Melissa felt a little insulted at how easily the snipers were able to sneak into the Shayla estate when she had found it difficult to sneak out of it.
Though then again, it was easier for the two snipers considering the fact that it was nighttime, meaning that more of the bodyguards had gotten sleepier and were less alert compared to how they would usually be during the daytime.
In addition to that, snipers were more focused on agility and skill rather than physical combat and intelligence, which would once again make a reason why it was easier for them to sneak into the Shayla estate.
Duke Alphonso had quickly stood up as well, as he quickly observed the two snipers in front of him, making sure not to let his guard down, after all his reflexes had slowed down a bit because of the fact that he had lost quite a lot of blood.
"We'll let you live if you give us the Duke."
One of the snipers said, bargaining to Lady Melissa as the woman merely rolled her eyes in response to his bargain, she wasn't going to give Duke Alphonso to them, at least not without a fight.
"Over my dead body."
Lady Melissa said, as this time she ran straight through the window, breaking all of the glass as earlier only a few parts of the window had been broken because of the bullet, however now everything was broken.
Lady Melissa went into the three, luckily the 'bubble' that she had made using the spell that she had casted covered around a 10km distance, which was obviously more than enough, dashing into the three as Duke Alphonso simply observed her.
He was obviously impressed- the woman in front of him had never showcased her skills- at least not like this, it was as if the more than Duke Alphonso would spend time with her the more he would be intrigued with her.
Meanwhile, Lady Melissa was using her physical abilities and fast reflexes to try and give the snipers a taste of defeat, as her eyes widened, the black suit that they were wearing had a logo of Duke Mason's guild.
Lady Melissa didn't let either of the snipers take advantage of this though, as she quickly brought back her focus, using her legs to kick one of the snipers in the gut, as she quickly took his sniper.
Lady Melissa threw the sniper to Duke Alphonso, assuming that the man had some prior experience with using snipers and could use it in case anything happened to her, and if he didn't have any prior experience with them then there was always a first time for everything.
Duke Alphonso carefully observed the enemy- making sure that he wouldn't die in the process as he hid behind one of Lady Melissa's couches, turning the couch to the other side as he took shelter behind it.
However, much to Lady Melissa's annoyance and irritation, the enemy quickly stood up, getting back on their own two feet as they used their arms to attack Lady Melissa, as she realized that they were skilled as well physically.
Though they weren't skilled enough, Lady Melissa thought, as she knocked them out, however, as she was bringing their body inside her room, they had quickly woke up, sneaking in and swallowing some pills in the process as Lady Melissa wasn't quick enough to realize what they had been doing and what was happening.
Lady Melissa quickly brought back the bodies to her room- realizing that they weren't moving either and that the both of them were breathing much slower, as she dropped their body to the room's floor.
Duke Alphonso immediately checked their pulses- as he exchanged a glance with Lady Melissa, as the woman let out a sigh, really, a suicide? However, it just made Lady Melissa more curious on who had sent these snipers after Duke Alphonso.
"Any ideas on who sent the assassin?"
Lady Melissa asked, pretending as if she was clueless regarding the entire thing and that she didn't know that the assassin was sent because of Duke Alphonso, or rather after Duke Alphonso.
"I'm not sure, is there anyone you know that could possibly want you gone? Perhaps an enemy or someone whom you have angered these past few weeks or months ago? Maybe, someone, you know who wanted you dead?"
Duke Alphonso said, as he placed a finger on his chin, acting as if he didn't even know who the assassin was after, even though it was more than obvious that the snipers were after Duke Alphonso.
"Oh I wonder why the snipers would opt to choose you rather than me if I'm their target, oh and what a coincidence it is that your shirt is practically drenched with blood, and you show up at my house unannounced as well."
Lady Melissa sarcastically said, just waiting for the man in front of her to admit that they were after him- she wanted to know who wanted him dead- or at the very least fatally injured and what he did to earn that resentment.
"Before I explain everything to you, do you mind if we fix this place first? I admittedly feel bad for ruining it because everything is my fault, don't worry I won't run away after I'm done helping you clean your room."
Duke Alphonso said, letting out a sigh as Lady Melissa nodded her head- of course even though she had put a bubble that didn't let anyone else who was out of the bubble to hear their conversation, the broken window was bothering her a lot.
In addition to that Lady Melissa had earned a few bruises and cuts when she had practically used her body to smash through the window and have a little physical fight with both of the snipers.
