Chapter 299

"Here let me bandage you up since you got a few injuries."

Duke Alphonso said, noticing Lady Melissa wincing a little as she limped with her foot whilst walking trying to throw away the glass shards since Duke Alphonso said he was just going to make new ones, which Lady Melissa wasn't sure how it worked but she trusted him- at least enough to do this.

"If anything I should be the one bandaging you Mr bloody murder,  you look like you just committed a few murders under that black suit, although I do appreciate the concern I am fine thank you."

Lady Melissa coldly said turning down Duke Alphonso's offer, as she felt that she didn't need to be bandaged, after all this was all just a few minor injuries to her, and she knew that Duke Alphonso had more severe injuries than her than he should probably be attending to.

"No I insist, I feel that it is partially my fault that you have these injuries, come sit right here and I'll be right back, just give me a few minutes, I'll see you soon Lady Melissa, don't miss me too much~."

Duke Alphonso said, wearing a teasing grin on his face as he flashed a wink as well as a flirtatious smile to her, however before Lady Melissa could even respond to his antics the man had already disappeared.

Lady Melissa then realized something, Duke Alphonso was taking A LOT of his energy right now since he had lost a lot of blood- and a spell-like this would drain a lot of his energy, meaning that he would be losing more blood in the process.

Yep, she was definitely going to be smacking him with some common sense and logic once he would arrive back here- although she wouldn't be angered if he didn't come back since she understood that he was probably tired with everything he was dealing with as well as the lack of blood.

However, something snapped her out of her thoughts- there right in front of her was Duke Alphonso, this time with a first-aid kit whilst it looks like his stomach still hadn't been bandaged or given any sort of medical treatment.

Lady Melissa let out a sigh, she found the man sweet, but he certainly needed to put himself first before anyone else, and she wouldn't blame the man if he did so, after all, she would do the same thing.

"So? What are you standing around for Lady Melissa, get on the couch (that Lady Melissa had already fixed using her magic since she felt bad if Duke Alphonso was the one fixing it since he had already lost a lot of blood from earlier)."

"I'll only let you bandage my wounds and the small injuries of mine if you let me do the same with yours, if you don't allow me to do so then I won't allow you to bandage my wounds, do you understand me?"

Lady Melissa asked Duke Alphonso, as she used a demanding voice as the man simply nodded his head, even though he was pretty hesitant with having Lady Melissa bandage his wounds, he supposed that it wasn't a problem.

"Alright, well then Doctor Alphonso, come treat me."

Lady Melissa said as Duke Alphonso wore a smirk on his face, opening up the box of first-aid kit as he took out a bandage and some cotton balls as well as alcohol for Lady Melissa's wounds.

"This might hurt a little, so flinch all you want."

Duke Alphonso said, as he immediately put some alcohol on Lady Melissa's wounds, which he had used numerous times for his wounds and even though it stinged and hurt a lot, it did its job, so with great pain comes great healing.

Duke Alphonso was surprised when he didn't hear a single word from Lady Melissa's mouth when he was applying the alcohol on her arms, he had expected perhaps a word or two of surprise because of the alcohol and how much it stung.

Yet, Duke Alphonso was met with nothing, just a woman who didn't flinch at all when she was applied to alcohol, and neither did she scream or say a word when the alcohol had been applied to her.

"Are you alright?"

Duke Alphonso asked Lady Melissa, as Lady Melissa nodded her head, the main reason why Lady Melissa didn't flinch was that she had been used to alcohol, she, like Duke Alphonso would often use it for her wounds.

How she got the wounds was a story for another day.

"Don't worry about me, I'm fine."

Lady Melissa said after she had nodded her head, just in case Duke Alphonso didn't notice she had nodded her head since the man wasn't exactly staring at her face right now as he was too preoccupied with her arms to do so.

"Alright, but if the pain ever becomes unbearable you can always just scream or bite or do anything alright? I'm here for you."

Duke Alphonso comfortingly said, before he dabbed Lady Melissa's wounds in alcohol once more, the woman smiling a bit as she heard those words- even though he had said it regarding this, it still warmed her heart.

Someone was there for her, someone that genuinely cared for her, someone who could comfort her and had even risked a lot of blood to just get a first-aid kit and hadn't even bandaged or fixed themself properly.

Duke Alphonso didn't know how big of an effect his words had on her, the words were just so simple yet they had such a big impact on Lady Melissa, hearing the words 'I'm here for you' made her heart skip a beat.

It had been a long time she had heard those words- and she couldn't help but just get emotional when hearing them, though of course like typical Lady Melissa she made sure to maintain her stoic facade, after all, she wasn't going to let Duke Alphonso know his words had such a huge impact on her.
