"We're done, Lady Melissa."
Sophia said as Lady Melissa nodded her head- a sign of approval for Sophia as well as for the other maids, as some of them let out sighs of relief, knowing that Lady Melissa liked how she looked- and therefore they were still going to have their jobs for the meantime.
"Alright, all of you can leave now, though make sure to leave after a time difference between each other so it doesn't look too suspicious, every maid leaves out of this room every ten minutes, starting from you."
Lady Melissa said as she pointed her finger to the maid whom she had threatened to fire earlier when the maid was brushing her hair.
The maid gladfully obliged though, grateful to finally be able to leave Lady Melissa's room and to finally disappear from her grasp- afraid of what could happen to her if she was in Lady Melissa's room any longer now.
One wrong move and the woman's job was going to be at risk, and maybe even her arms or legs if she was unlucky enough to catch Lady Melissa in a bad mood (at least that was what the maid had heard from the rumours).
Ever since Lady Melissa's change in attitude here (which most of the servants and maids thought would last for a week or two at most, and where they had been proven wrong) many had made theories about what had happened.
Some even went so far as to claim that she was perhaps a witch, or perhaps someone had taken control of her body and the 'real' Lady Melissa was hidden, trapped somewhere and nobody knew where she was.
Of course, though, no one was ever willing or brave enough to bring up these theories and try and ask Lady Melissa whether any of them were true- reasonably so considering the fact that their jobs were at stake.
None of the Shayla estate's maids nor servants wanted to get fired at all, considering that the treatment they got here was actually pretty good compared to the treatment that they would get from other estates.
In addition to that, the generous amount of money that they were getting paid for every month was just enough for them to ever want to work at another estate, some of them never want to stop working for the Shayla estate.
"Sophia, stay back."
Lady Melissa said, as she noticed that the number of maids in the room were starting to decrease by the second, as she was reminded of the fact that she had something important, a warning to tell Sophia about.
Sophia nodded her head, although she didn't know what Lady Melissa was going to ask her to stay back about, she knew better than to ask with the remaining maids in Lady Melissa's room with her.
Gradually, the maids started to decrease and decrease(though that was expected since every ten minutes one of them would disappear, though sometimes some of them would leave a few minutes after ten just to decrease suspicion).
"Sophia I've been noticing a few things regarding you and Justin, so I thought that it'd be a nice reminder if I remind the both of you if either of you tries anything funny, the both of you will suffer the consequences."
Lady Melissa said, as she used her dagger managing to hit beside Sophia's body which was against the wall, of course she hadn't hit Sophia because this was simply a reminder in case any of them were planning for anything drastic.
Needless to say, Sophia flinched, even though she was dating a knight or Lady Melissa's bodyguard, one would think she'd have more experience with violence, then again she was a maid and maids weren't usually connected with violence, blood or murder.
"Oh, and if my parents find out about this because of you, I wish you luck in the future, you're dismissed, get out of my room now."
Lady Melissa sternly said, dismissing Sophia who was still in a bit of a shock at what happened to her earlier, since it wasn't everyday that her boss would try to throw a dagger and try to kill her (Sophia didn't know that Lady Melissa had planned this).
Sophia however, quickly ran out of Lady Melissa's room, she was obviously fixed with mixed feelings, though she couldn't bring herself to resent Lady Melissa for some reason, more so confusion.
Lady Melissa slowly picked up the dagger in the wall, it had stuck there and it was certainly going to leave a mark, thankfully Lady Melissa had just bought a painting that would cover up the problem.
"Come out, come out wherever you are!"
Lady Melissa said, after making sure that she had made sure the area near her room was sound-proof, already knowing that someone was watching her right now as she was more so focused on covering up the dent that her dagger had left behind for the wall.
"It's nice seeing you too, Lady Melissa."
Duke Gaston said, as he was surprised once, noticing that he wasn't able to break through Lady Melissa's window, strangely enough, this time, a surprised expression on his face as Lady Melissa's face was filled with amusion instead, noticing the man's struggle.
"Don't even try Gaston, the window's made out of tungsten, the toughest and strongest metal on earth, you'll need more than just your physical strength to break through that window right there."
Lady Melissa said, not even minding Duke Gaston's presence, as she was too preoccupied with hanging up her drawing on the dented wall from earlier, wondering which angle would be better for the painting.
However, before Lady Melissa could even hang up the painting on her wall, she heard a buzzing sound, carefully putting down the painting on the chair since it was too expensive for her to break.
Lady Melissa quickly turned her head back wondering what it was this time, as she let out a sigh, why didn't she think of the fact that Duke Gaston could just teleport inside? This time, the man had managed to outsmart her.
