Lady Melissa was going to make the most of the time she had in Duke Mason's party though since at any given second her parents could just barge in (which she would prefer for them not to do since it would not only be embarrassing but it would also be humiliating).
Then again, there was always the chance that Lady Melissa's parents wouldn't find out, since the party was a masquerade party, like the most recent party that Lady Melissa had attended a few months ago.
Lady Melissa had also managed to persuade (more like threaten) her dad's bodyguards as well, making them vow to her not to say anything to her father- or mother for that matter, or else their lives would be gone (quite literally).
So there she was right now- inside her room as she was surrounded with a few maids, one of them currently fixing her hair and another one holding up a mirror to show Lady Melissa what she currently looked like right now.
Lady Melissa would've said she was surprised, but this time she was impressed at the amount of careful consideration and the amount of carefulness put inside her appearance and dress (though the maids of course put a lot of effort into her other party appearances and preparing her).
However, they did put extra effort and care into this one since, this would be Lady Melissa's first return back to society after a month, where Lady Melissa would be using a different mask from the last masquerade ball.
During her entrance after she was done walking down the stairway where people would watch her (since that was the only way to go to the venue from upstairs), she was going to slowly unveil the mask and see people's reactions first-hand.
Lady Melissa was excited to see what people would say about her after she had such a long disappearance from society since a month not being there was practically a couple of years not partaking in society.
Lady Melissa was definitely behind on the gossip, all the rumours, perhaps there were even conspiracy theories made by people on where they think she went, and perhaps whether she had suddenly mysteriously disappeared somehow.
Needless to say, Lady Melissa was definitely excited to see how everybody was going to be reacting to her presence later on, since no one other than the three dukes (she assumed that Duke Gaston knew as well) knew about her appearance at Duke Mason's party.
Though which out of the three men would be able to know which one of the women was her? Lady Melissa was sure that Duke Mason invited loads of women, though they were all classy and from the upper class, since well Duke Mason was a player even at heart.
In addition to that, Lady Melissa still had numerous questions she needed to ask Duke Gaston about, which hadn't been addressed at all since Duke Gaston hadn't sneaked into her house during her grounding period, something she wished the man had done (Lady Melissa never expected to say those words).
Lady Melissa was going to be wearing a beautiful blue dress, which was gifted by none other than Duke Mason truly, who had it sent to her during the time interval that she was asleep, as Lady Melissa decided that she'd just accept it.
After all, the dress was incredibly pretty, and Duke Mason had gone so far as to send the dress to her, so she might as well use it right? She didn't want the dress to be hidden in her closet for the next few months or so.
Lady Melissa just so happened to have a few blue coloured transparent glass slippers to help pull the dress and make her look like the next cover of a magazine (the glass slippers are similar to Cinderella's ones).
Lady Melissa was going to have her hair tied up, and her nails had even been painted blue to match the colour coordination between the dress that she was going to wear and the glass slippers that she was going to use.
Lady Melissa let out a sigh- thanking the fact that she had yet another few hours or so before Duke Mason's party since judging on how things were currently going, the maids weren't going to be finished with her anytime soon right now.
"Ow"
Lady Melissa said, her hair being brushed by the comb a little too tightly, as she expressed her discomfort of the amount of force exerted onto the comb, giving the maid who was combing her hair a death stare.
"You do that one more time and I'll fire you alright?"
Lady Melissa asked, her voice being filled with annoyance and irritation as the maid nodded her head, profusely apologizing to Lady Melissa as she didn't want to be fired from her job- reasonably so.
Lady Melissa didn't want to be suffering, even if it was a little comb problem during the whole time she was being prepared for Duke Mason's party, knowing that pain was one of her many enemies.
Lady Melissa glanced at the clock over and over again, she felt as if at this rate her arse was going to fall off when she could finally stand up because of the number of hours she had spent on the chair.
Lady Melissa was at this rate not going to be able to walk properly, and not for the reasons she would hope for, she would have a little trouble walking because of how long she had spent sitting.
Although Lady Melissa had been given quite a number of massages, the messages had happened in the morning, and after the massages she was immediately brought back to her room to be prepared for Duke Mason's party.
Truthfully, Lady Melissa didn't see that much of a difference in her appearance from earlier, though then again, what would she know? She had only gotten an hour of sleep today and was trying to function like a normal human being.
