"You're not a deranged crazy woman, and I like that part of you, using vulgar language, you're like a breath of fresh air. You drive me crazy, and the reason why I saved you? It's because I love you, Lady Melissa."
Duke Gaston said, as he rubbed his forehead, he had always thought that Lady Melissa knew, with how obvious he had been, especially after he started to get bolder with her, flirting every now and then when he had the chance to do so.
"I'm in love with you Lady Melissa, I'm so in love with you that I can't spend a second without thinking about you, I'm so in love with you that everything I see reminds me of you, I'm so in love with you that I can't live without you."
Duke Gaston said as he confessed his love to Lady Melissa, the woman that would constantly drive him crazy, the woman that would make him blush because of her flirts to him, the woman that always had some kind of witty response to him.
"Everything you do, it drives me crazy, the way you tuck your hair behind your ears when you're shy, the way you have some kind of witty comeback to me so you can always get the last word, and the vulgar language you use, don't even get me started on it."
Duke Gaston said as he tucked Lady Melissa's hair behind her ears, before continuing.
"You're different Lady Melissa, you're unlike any other woman I've ever met, not only are you beautiful, but you're also smart, and your unique personality makes it harder not to fall in love with you."
Duke Gaston said, as he exhaled, his deep blue eyes staring deep into Lady Melissa's eyes, as he slowly closed the gap that was separating the two of them, sharing an intimate kiss with Lady Melissa.
Duke Gaston's tongue had just coincidentally found its way to Lady Melissa's tongue, before Duke Mason slowly pulled away, looking into Lady Melissa's eyes, making sure that she wanted this.
Lady Melissa pulled Duke Gaston in for the kiss this time, it was a messy kiss, nothing like the elegant one that they had just shared with each other a few seconds ago, the both of them knowing that it was dangerous of them to kiss somewhere here, somewhere anyone could barge into anytime they wanted to, yet they still did it anyway.
Perhaps it was the adrenaline rushing through the both of their veins, knowing that if anyone were to walk in it would ruin both of their reputations for a lifetime, especially Lady Melissa's, the one that she had worked so hard to build on,
Maybe it was the heat of the moment, maybe that was why Lady Melissa had pulled Duke Gaston in for a kiss, or maybe it was because she genuinely liked him, the man who had saved her life.
"We should probably get out soon, we can't let anyone walk in on us."
Lady Melissa said, as she finally pulled away from the kiss, a sly smirk on Duke Gaston's face, a similar smirk filled in Lady Melissa's face, before Duke Gaston asked her another question, a question that stopped her in her tracks.
"What is this? What are we?"
Duke Gaston asked, wondering whether this meant that the both of them were perhaps dating, or maybe this was the courting phase, where he had to woo her and win her over from his many competitors.
"We're friends, friends who just so happen to like each other."
Lady Melissa said, as she confidently walked out of the door, leaving Duke Gaston in the dust, as she decided that now would be the best time to go back to the Shayla estate, after all, it had appeared that everyone was already safe.
Plus, Lady Melissa needed everything she could get for some peace and quiet to figure out her thoughts, more importantly, her feelings towards the three men, starting off with Duke Alphonso, the man that had been the most attentive to her.
It would be then followed by Duke Mason, a charming flirtatious man, one that would love nothing more than a challenge- and perhaps that was why he loved chasing for Lady Melissa, he loved knowing the fact that he'd never be able to be with her, perhaps that was why he constantly tried everything to get into a relationship with her.
Last but not least, she'd think about her feelings regarding Duke Gaston, the man who was probably the best candidate out of the three of them if she were to get into any sort of relationship, he was the head of the Knights, strong, kind and more importantly caring, he cared about her, more than she had originally thought he did.
Duke Gaston was the obvious choice- the obvious choice to fall in love with, however, why did she think of another man when kissing Duke Gaston? Even after he had confessed his love to her, her mind still wandered somewhere else, someone knowing that she couldn't have.
Lady Melissa was beyond exhausted, yet somehow, as if it was a miracle of some sort, she had enough energy to transport back to the Shayla estate, and more specifically, her house, as she noticed that it had already been 11 P.M. right now.
To Lady Melissa's absolute surprise, she wasn't met with any angry parents or parents, instead, she was just met with Sophia, still pretending to be Lady Melissa, as she let out a disappointed but relieved sigh.
On one hand, the woman was relieved that her parents hadn't found out about what she was doing and that she wouldn't be scolded or grounded, however, on the other hand, she was disappointed that even after everything her parents still hadn't noticed her disappearance.
"Did anyone notice that I was gone?"
Lady Melissa asked Sophia, the latter woman shaking her head, as Sophia explained that one of the maids that had helped with Lady Melissa's appearance made a lie, claiming that Lady Melissa was sick and in a bad mood, hence causing her to be alone in her room, and the other maids that had helped Lady Melissa with her appearance backed up the rumour, and none of the maids was brave enough to test out whether she was actually in a bad mood.
