Pushing people away I manage to get to the man. Acting as a Good Samaritan one arm on my shoulder as if I wanted to help him, the plan was to take him out and find a secluded area before I take action.
The truth is I am going to ship him to the council and I was going to collect a hefty bounty on his head. Bottom feeder were always out of luck. It was how our society work. On the top were the council and its line. Then there were the elite eight and their guardians, they were mean and ruthless, part of a society. Then they were contractors (like me) and watchers, hire people that were part of the system but lack the qualification for the higher levels. Below me were the guards, commoners, vampires and the servants in order. In society, everyone has their place.
For me, well, I have a story to tell.
When I was younger, my aunts had tricked into me into a signing. A contractor is a handy position. I am benefiting from the council resources and I like looking at the guards' faces. It is just priceless when they realized that they were outranked and out power by a weak looking female with no real power as I didn't access my reserved.
"He just needs some fresh air" I shouted as I close the door.
Just like that everyone went about to business. The kissing, the drinking, the dance continued as if nothing happens. This was GIA power. The normals were obvious to it.
Out the way to the door, I was ready to pounce. I had wasted enough time over something so mundane as securing my mark. Then again I did get to do a little reflecting, meting Roy and Diana was another surprised didn't remember happening, then again. My aunts were acting strange and this sighting didn't happen until next week in my past.
"It won't hurt one bit," I said to my unconscious mark.
Placing my hand on my favorite item borrowed for the archive, the cubic of issues. It was handy used with a combination spell, drain the vampire of all his blood but one last drop. Then I would take out a straw drawing pulling the last blood out turning him to dust. Before the wind blows the dust away I wave him into the box securing him alive ready to regenerate. It was all very basic magic but effective that made my life easier. Six second was all it took before the vampire was in the box and ready to ship back to the council for their use.
There was something. I sniff the air I smell wolfsbane. It was the second time I smell it today and I had to frown at the scent. It either was me being paranoid or there was something my aunts knew but were not telling me.
"That was professional."
Turning around I saw Roy walking over. He looked drunk and he looked as if he'd seen what I had done.
"Is it?"
