Yukiya memorised the pathway, but she scrunched her brows. "But, what about the guards?"
"I'll distract them," Long Ki smirked.
Both sneaked out of the room with the little wolf cub following after.
Passing through a winding hallway, both reached a dead end.
"Do you not know the ways for your own castle?" with her hands on her hips, Yukiya glared at him.
"Patience woman," he murmured, giving her a side glance he mumbled, "You remind me so much of my mother."
Offended a little, Yukiya glared at the stupid guy with her mouth agape. "You..." She pulled his collar and with gritted teeth she whispered, "Do. You. Know. The. Way. out?"
"Of course I do? Just wait five minutes will you?" He pulled her hands and smoothed his collar. "Crazy woman," he mumbled under his breath.
Yukiya bit her lips and waited. Soon after just five minutes, the wall in front of them rumbled. He pulled her further from the wall.
The said wall tuned and twisted until a small door was formed on it.
"See, I told you I know the way," He cheerfully pointed at the door.
"Huff," Yukiya walked ahead of him into the little door. It led them through an array of passageways.
"Wait," the guy pulled her away from her path.
"What are you doing? I don't have time to waste," she whispered.
Before he could say anything, the passageway in front of them got covered by a huge wall and another passageway opened to the right. "The passageways change every ten minutes," he said with a condescending look.
Eyes wide, Yukiya gazed at the stupid guy. "Why didn't you say so? I could have been crushed," she mumbled.
"Oh, but I saved you, right? You owe me one," he said with a small smile on his face.
"This foul asshat," Yukiya cursed and followed after him.
The new pathway led them to another golden palace.
Long Ki cursed under breath and hid behind a huge stone column. "Shit, we went the wrong way."
"WHAT!!" Yukiya pulled his collar again.
"Shh, shh, don't make so much Noise, she might hear us," The guy said in a trembling voice even His arms and legs were trembling.
"Who? Who's castle is this?" Yukiya questioned with dread filling her heart.
"My mother's," he whispered in a meek voice.
"We are so dead. Nope, I think I might become deaf before I die," She whispered wringing her small handkerchief.
The stupid guy gazed at her with a weird look. "Why are you scared of her? She is not scary to anyone else but me," he mumbled under his breath.
"Well guess what, she is crazy and scary even to me," Yukiya said.
He gave her a small smile. "I guess she is,"
Yukiya glanced at him with a smirk. "Yeah." Things became quite awkward after that. Standing behind the stone column, both slowed their breath until all the guards went away.
"Come on, let's go," He said, offering his hand. Smirking a little, Yukiya took his hand and followed after him.
They both ran through the open corridor towards the exit of the castle. But before they could reach the door, the King and Queen walked in. She held her forehead and cried, "Oh, where is my son and daughter-in-law? Did they elope? But why? I prepared such an elaborate wedding for them,"
"Shit," he cursed under his breath and pulled her towards a nearby room.
"Is it because I wanted them to consummate their marriage only after marriage? Honey, I went to Ki's room, there I found Yukiya's pearls scattered on the floor. My son... They tussled in the bed before they got married, oohh....." she wailed walking past the room they were hiding in.
Listening to this, Yukiya glared at the stupid guy. He just gave an awkward laugh. "I didn't mean for such a misunderstanding," he said apologetically.
"You better explain to them after I leave," she said with gritted teeth.
"Yes, i will," He whispered. She glanced away from him. "Phew," he subtly wiped his sweaty forehead.
"They are gone. Let's go," Yukiya said, pulling his sleeves.
They both ran out of the room and rushed towards their right, but there were new guards guarding the exit door.
The guard noticed them at ones. "Your highness, wait," he said and chased after them.
"Shit," Long Ki dragged her the other way, towards the direction his mother had gone.
Pulling her skirt up, Yukiya ran swiftly away from the guard.
But unfortunately, the queen stood right in front of them.
"Daughter-in-law? Son? What are you doing here? Its auspicious time already, let's go to the ceremony hall," she said wiping her tears away.
"Your highness, stop," the guards shouted behind them. Gasping, Yukiya ran towards a ledge in the open corridor.
"Wait, don't go that way," Long Ki shouted and rushed after her.
But Yukiya was already put in a daze, unable to hear his cries. She ran swiftly towards the ledge and glanced down towards the deep fluffy clouds.
Everyone ran after her. "Yukiya, get down from there, it's very dangerous," The queen cried.
"Yes, for once my mom is right. That ledge is a punishment ledge, so come down here," Long Ki offered her a hand.
Yukiya glanced at his outstretched hands. "Thanks for your help, but my loved one need me, so i have to go," She whispered with tears running down her face.
"No, No, this is not the way, maybe we can try the dungeons another time," he whispered.
Yukiya wiped her tears and gave him her final smile.. And jumped.
