Chapter 750 - After You Left...

Aleena's pat made Yvonne feel a little better but it did not soothe her irritated heart entirely.

For so many months now, there had not been anyone who would antagonize her.

She had been living blissfully in the St. Claire fief during the plague and when she returned to the Capital, the only inconvenience in her life had occurred at the Queen's tea party and later the lunch they had attended there.

Thus, Yvonne was especially incensed at the jab she had just received from Damien.

However, soon she lowered her head in introspection, trying to discern if what he had said was right.

She had already known that the longer she stayed in this child-like body, her emotions were assimilating with that of a child as well.

While this might be beneficial for her now, she wondered if this was shaping her personality differently from what it had been in the past.

Back when she was still the CEO of Platina entertainment, she was cold but efficient, silent yet ruthless when she spoke.

However, now she was learning to live in accordance with the way of life followed in this world as that was the most appropriate thing for her to do.

There were times when she had pretended to throw a tantrum to get her way and at other times, she had done the same naturally.

Thus it was safe to assume that being in the body of a child was taking over her emotions sometimes.

Yvonne was quite confident of this fact as there was no way that she would have felt true fear while facing her mother's wrath otherwise.

However, there were things that she could not control even if she wanted to, which only made her reflect on how she had been behaving in the past.

Damien's words had worked as a reminder for the child who had been taking things too easy in the past.

She had been living a leisurely life in their fief but now that her family had returned to the Capital, things needed to change.

First and foremost, the change needed to come from within.

She had been able to stay in the shadows until now but her situation was widely different from what it had been like in the past.

People had a lot of opinions about her and the things she had done, some were positive while most were negative.

If she continued to be carefree and did not bother about what was taking place around her then she might get caught unaware.

She needed to be wary of her surroundings now and be careful in every move she made.

With her head still lowered, Yvonne was realizing some things which she had taken for granted until now.

Everyone had noticed her silence but could not point out what Damien had done wrong.

The twins did not know the kind of relationship those two had but by now, had deduced that whatever Damien had said had caused her to fall into a contemplative daze.

This made them share a glance and their thoughts of keeping an eye on this new person were coinciding with the others'.

Yvonne could not complete her introspection as a loud voice had made everyone turn in its direction.

Duchess Tanner was at the center of everyone's attention, beckoning everyone to come and take their seats as it was time for tea to be served.

Her announcement made them understand that every guest who was supposed to arrive was already here and there was no longer any need for them to delay this party.

Thus, everyone slowly made their way from the open area to the place where tables had been arranged beforehand.

The Duchess had not created any seating order for them to follow so they could sit next to anyone they wished which was much appreciated.

As Yvonne walked along, Aleena could sense that she was still in a daze and decided to cheer her up at least a little.

Thus she racked her mind to think of something that might help ease the glum air around this younger girl.

"Oh! Weren't you curious about what happened after you left the Princess's tea party?" She exclaimed but this time in a lower volume, making sure not to attract the attention of those who were also heading in the same direction.

She had decided to accept Yvonne's advice from earlier and would no longer try to gain attention by putting herself down.

Thus, she made it a point to speak softly so that her words might not reach those around them.

However, the group of boys walking behind them had heard these words clearly.

They were the ones closest to the girls but were tactful enough to pretend not to have heard anything.

This was the first time most of them were seeing Yvonne speak so freely with someone else her age so they were curious to see what she would do next.

At the same time, they could not deny that they were also eager to know about what could have taken place at the Princess's tea party.

The boys who had entered the Palace on that day had gone to observe the Royal Knights' training so they had no clue about the affairs of these young girls.

Yvonne was confused at first but soon recalled what Aleena was talking about.

She had left the party midway after her stomach felt queasy but when they had reunited, she had witnessed the rare sight of Elna's gloomy face while Aleena was smiling happily.

When she had inquired about the same, Aleena had promised to reveal this matter at a later date.

Therefore, the daughter of the Kiron family chose this moment to explain exactly what had taken place after Yvonne had gone to rest at the Rose Palace for a while.

"After you left for the Rose Palace…" She began in the same low volume from before.

Yvonne recalled how she had met the Prince before she could even enter the Rose Palace and her indignation only rose.

However, she controlled her annoyed expressions and chose to focus on what Aleena was narrating.

When Yvonne had left, Elna had decided to continue the conversation that had come to a standstill.

Her haste, however, had caused her more harm than good.

The existence of the blue rose created by the previous Concubine Yuliza was known to everyone in this Kingdom.

It was common knowledge that you would not find those roses anywhere outside the Palace grounds.

The topic that Elna had chosen to discuss was whether those highly sought-after blue roses were present in the greenhouse where the party was being held.

However, this was a sensitive issue for the members of the Royal family and thus had caused the air there to stagnate.

Elna was still curious and unable to discern the awkward atmosphere she had created, she continued to express her desire to view those flowers.

"Did you know what Princess Felicia had said in reply?" Aleena inquired with an obvious grin on her face, revealing that she was quite happy with what had taken place.

Yvonne only shook her head and looked at her with curiosity apparent on her face which urged the other girl to answer quickly.

"Princess said that the blue roses were special and could not be viewed by just anyone." She snickered while repeating the exact words used by the Royal Princess.

She then thought back to the awkward face Elna had at that time which only made her happier.

Since Yvonne knew of the backstory in the script, she wasn't too surprised to hear these words.

Those roses were indeed special and held great importance to the Royal family members, especially the Grand Duke.

'Now that I think about it, he was quite territorial about them.' She recalled a certain part of the script she had read in the past.

After the Crown Prince's punishment for disrespecting Yvonne St. Claire on the day of the coming-of-age ceremony had come to an end, he officially pursued Hilda without caring about what people thought about it.

He often brought her to the Palace and even visited places he had never been to, for fulfilling her desires.

Most times, even the Grand Duke would accompany them on her insistence.

While this had garnered much attention from the nobles, the trio never bothered about them and went about their happy lives as usual.

On a certain sunny day, Hilda had visited the Palace to spend time with the Crown Prince.

However, along the way, she had caught sight of the Princess with her playmates who were walking in her direction.

Thankfully, they had not yet noticed her presence so she chose to take a detour so as to not encounter them and ruin her day by being bullied by them.

This decision had resulted in her witnessing something she wouldn't have otherwise.
