The three young ladies had just exited the Rose Palace and were headed to another place when Hilda had caught sight of them.
The Royal siblings had their residences right next to each other which would have made it inevitable for the two parties to come across one another.
Hilda was walking without an escort in the Palace grounds upon her constant insistence.
Thus, in a haste, she did not think about where she was going and just kept walking in the other direction so as to not come face to face with these three noble ladies.
The Rose Palace was right next to the Sycamore Palace where the Crown Prince stayed yet Hilda had rushed away in such a hurry that she had somehow managed to get lost in the vast palace grounds.
Before she knew it, she was in a place where she had never been in the past.
She was only close to the Crown Prince while the rest of the Royal family did not get along with her too well.
Thus she had been to the Main Palace on the day of the coming-of-age ceremony and later on could only visit the Sycamore Palace.
She had assumed that she would be visiting the Prince as always and thus had rejected the servant's offer of being escorted there.
However, now that she found herself wandering about, she wished that she had listened to their advice but it was too late for regrets now.
Thankfully, not long after, she had reached a palace and the fatigue she felt indicated that she was quite far from her initial destination.
A servant tending to that Palace had noticed her presence and had invited her to enter.
Only then did she learn that she had reached the Cloud Palace which used to be the Grand Duke's residence in his earlier years.
Ever since the former Prince had inherited the title of the Grand Duke, he had moved to a new estate outside the Palace grounds.
Despite living outside, the King had declared that the Cloud Palace belonged to the Grand Duke as that was the place he held dear to his heart.
His mother had lived and died there and he was also born in the same place, thus no one had any objections when the Grand Duke continued to hold ownership of the Cloud Palace.
The servants who worked there had heard about this young lady's close relationship with both the Crown Prince and the Grand Duke and hence were courteous to her.
After inviting her in, they explained the situation to her regarding who this Palace's owner was before sending out a servant to inform the Crown Prince about her unexpected arrival here.
The Prince and the Grand Duke had been waiting for her to arrive at the Sycamore Palace all along so they hurried to the Cloud Palace after receiving this message.
Hearing that Hilda had almost encountered those three haughty and temperamental young ladies had caused Fritzen to hasten his steps.
Therefore when he finally reached the Cloud Palace, he was struck with a wave of relief to find her safe but soon that relief was overwhelmed by another emotion.
Standing in the midst of the breath-taking blue roses was the one whom he had taken a liking to.
This sight was enough to make his heart flutter for her all over again.
Grand Duke Roschester was only a step behind him but watching this scene, he held no expression on his face, unlike his nephew who was searing this image into his memories.
When Hilda finally felt their presence, she greeted them before blushing as she explained that the beautiful flowers here had attracted her attention.
After knowing that these flowers belonged to the Grand Duke, she almost immediately expressed her desire to have similar flowers in her garden and hoped to take some home with her.
'And that was when she faced the first and only rejection of her lifetime.' Yvonne sneered at this scene she had read in the script.
Without giving it even a moment's thought, the Grand Duke had refused to fulfill her desire in an outright manner and his immediate response had even embarrassed the Crown Prince.
However, Fritzen did not dare to persuade his uncle about this matter as he wasn't confident enough to change his mind.
Hilda's cheeks flushed at this rejection but she managed to conjure a smile before apologizing for desiring something that did not belong to her.
'And… the Crown Prince was moved by her kindness.' Yvonne rolled her eyes because she could not see any signs of kindness there.
In her eyes, Hilda was only trying to prick the other man's conscience so that he might give in to her demands.
Contrary to what she had assumed, the Grand Duke only nodded and had no intention of reversing his decision.
He remained adamant to the very end about not letting the roses his mother had nurtured be cut down for the amusement of someone else.
They were precious to him just like they had been to his mother and for this reason, they would never leave the Cloud Palace.
'More precious than the smile on his beloved's face?' Yvonne could not understand the kind of man this Grand Duke was.
He was willing to give up his accolades to help the couple gain the blessings of the citizens.
He had no qualms in working tirelessly so that they might have a cozy life.
If Yvonne could recall a certain dream which Asmodeus had sealed up then she would add that he was even able to leave his despondent wife alone at home without any regrets just to visit the feeble Miss Hilda.
For her sake, he was willing to do anything but the mere act of gifting her those roses was too much to ask of him?
That Grand Duke's mind was an enigma to Yvonne and she wasn't even trying to unravel the mysteries hidden in him as she had nothing to do with him, now and in the future.
She was doing her best to not let their paths cross or their fates get entangled.
Thus, with this final thought, her recollection of the single incident where Hilda had faced rejection from the Grand Duke had finally come to an end.
___
Yvonne did not know if things would be the same in the future or if there would be some discrepancies as she had been observing ever since she had entered this world.
But for now, she could only wait for that time to come as nothing could help her gain that information beforehand.
"And I heard something else as well." Aleena's whisper snapped her out of her thoughts.
Yvonne glanced at her sideways, continuing to move towards the tables meant for them.
They were only a few steps away and many nobles were nearby and Aleena had to lean close to her ear so that she might continue what she was saying.
"I heard that Elna has taken a liking to the Older Prince Draco." She revealed this confidential information that not many were privy to.
Yvonne almost lost her footing when she heard this shocking revelation coming from the other girl.
With an incredulous look on her face, she gawked at Aleena with widened eyes to make sure that she had heard it right.
The confident nod she gained in response made her unable to think for a moment.
'Elna likes the man who is supposed to be my future husband?' She had neither a positive nor negative response to this information.
She already had no desire to follow the script and marry that man in the first place so she shrugged and did not care about it any further.
However, thinking of the sorry fate that awaited the one who married the Grand Duke was only making her wonder if Elna would be alright in the path that she was choosing for herself.
She might not like Elna Leopold but did she deserve to experience the same things that 'Yvonne' had gone through in the script?
She was already aware of this answer and hoped that Elna changed her mind sooner than later.
'He will never like her.' She sighed as this was the absolute truth of this world.
After all, both the Prince and the Grand Duke would become faithful followers of Hilda once she made her appearance in their noble society.
Thus Yvonne was wondering if she should do something to help Elna avoid going down the same route when her thoughts were abruptly cut off.
The cause of this interruption was the loud and strained coughs coming from behind.
