Chapter 804 - Clearing Sevenz's Doubts

Yvonne had rushed to her etcher's stable where she knew she would find the one who could give her some valid answers.

Demon's revelation was shocking but if what he had said was true then there was a high chance that just like her, Princess Felicia too had managed to form a bond with an etcher.

Though the Princess and those around her did not seem to realize it, Yvonne trusted her etcher and what he had said.

If she could gather evidence that Princess Felicia, a girl, had also formed a bond with an etcher, then the backlash when her secret was revealed in the future would diminish.

The King's protectiveness for his daughter would ensure that she would never face anyone's harsh words.

Since he cannot be partial to just his daughter, he might support any girl who was capable of forming a bond with an etcher.

Thus Yvonne's bond with Demon would also be under his protection when the time comes for this secret to be revealed in the future.

To ensure that this takes place, she would first need to know more about the beast Demon had spoken of.

For this reason, she had rushed to meet him as soon as she got back home from the Palace.

Meeting Demon had indeed helped her gain more information about the cat she had met this afternoon.

{Master, I've sensed similar auras whenever that eagle would come by.}

His words reminded her of the etcher she had not met in a long while.

Sevenz's etcher, Tutu, the golden eagle who used to pass messages between the two business partners was the one who had been mentioned.

Hearing this was enough for Yvonne to decide what she would do next and after playing with Demon for a little while longer, she headed inside.

There, she met her father, explaining everything that had taken place during the day.

Rutherford had already heard word from a servant sent by the Brodie family but it did not mean that he was happy with what had taken place.

He had always been vigilant against the King after what had taken place on the day they had a parlez with him.

However, when he heard that the Princess might have an etcher by her side, he too was curious to learn more about it.

The father and daughter had the same thoughts in their minds as the King would surely work hard to protect the Princess from the ire of the nobles if it was proven that she had managed to form a bond with an etcher.

Thus, despite how unhappy he was, he could only agree when he heard the child's plan to visit Sevenz Oca, the man who could help her solve this mystery.

Yvonne St. Claire, who had not been able to meet her business partner due to various reasons, now had made up her mind to visit him right away.

Therefore, the very next day, she and Jax had arrived at the mansion she had been to a few times in the past.

She did not forget to bring along with her the Apple pies sold at Willow's cafe, the store run by the commoner whose pies Yvonne had already introduced to numerous people of nobility.

When she reached the mansion hidden among the tall trees, she found the same old butler who had welcomed her the last times she had been here.

He led her to the Parlor where she found Sevenz already waiting for her.

Seeing the boxes in Jax's hands, he could guess what was inside and hurried his Butler to fetch them plates so that they might consume them right away.

He also sent word to Sept who could also come and enjoy this treat she had brought for them.

Yvonne did not mind as she was here, not to enjoy the pies, but for some information that she needed from him.

While the butler had gone to complete the tasks given to him, Sevenz had inquired about the reason for her sudden appearance when she had been avoiding him all along.

The child choked but shook her head, rejecting his accusations as she had been busy which had delayed their meeting.

Taking the pies into account, Sevenz decided to let her off the hook this time before mentioning that his men could begin distribution of CLOVER's products as soon as they received the signal from him.

Yvonne had nodded, informing that even the Hagen family was ready and he could send his men to the Valente fief at any time.

She even mentioned her plans for the noble market and he was surprised to see that everything was moving at such a fast pace.

Soon, the butler had returned with the plates and even Sept entered the room after him.

With the uncle and nephew pair seated on one couch, Yvonne was on the other as she decided to bring up the main reason she was here.

Listening to what she had said, Sevenz first scratched his cheek before confirming that Demon had been right when he said that Iris, Princess Felicia's cat, possessed aura.

Another piece of information she gained was that the cat, which was the birthday present for the Princess given by her elder brother, had been purchased from Ocular's Caravans.

A branch of their business dealt with exotic pets and Iris was a long-coated cat that his men had acquired through a lot of difficulties.

Yvonne was appalled to hear that Sevenz was involved in the sale of etchers as that could separate the beast from its fated master.

Demon had also been targeted by one such group which was now making her wonder if this young man had also been involved in it.

However, the explanation she received next helped to quell her anger.

Sevenz vowed that he had nothing to do with what had taken place to Demon and this was the first time he was hearing about it.

He then went on to reveal that Ocular's Caravans did not trade etchers as that was unethical in his opinion.

"Then what about the cat?" Yvonne had interrogated which he answered right away.

According to what she had heard from him, Iris, the white long-coated cat which resembled a persian cat from Yvonne's previous world, was not an etcher at all.

{A halfling}

Sevenz had described this beast as the offspring between an etcher and an ordinary animal.

Either the mother or the father of Iris must have been an etcher while the other was an ordinary cat.

The result of this was Iris, a kind of creature known as a halfling.

Though they possessed aura and slightly higher intelligence, they were not capable of imprinting on someone and forming a bond with a human.

They had superior appearance and intelligence when compared to ordinary animals which made them a highly sought-after option for pets among Royals and nobility of different Kingdoms.

In Rosenhyde, women could not form bonds with etchers but she now learned that getting close to halflings who shared the same territorial nature as their parents was possible.

Therefore, even if Iris was not an etcher, she had chosen to stay with the Princess which in a way could be said that she had imprinted on her master, the only daughter of the King.

Though what she had learned from her business partner was not what she had expected, there was still some hope.

If women were capable of staying with halflings then wouldn't it increase their status in society?

After all, they might not be etchers but they were still superior beings when compared to other animals.

With this came the end of the reason Yvonne had appeared at Sevenz's house out of nowhere.

However, Sevenz did not let her leave as there was something on his mind which had not been addressed for far too long.

The child was already aware of what he wished to ask and hence before he could even speak, she clarified the doubts in his head.

She knew that Sevenz had been wanting to ask her about the actions she had taken before the plague which were almost as if she was sure of its appearance.

To clear this doubt, Yvonne repeated the same excuse she had given to Topher.

{I had precognitive dreams.}

Her answer was simple and even if Sevenz wished to challenge its authenticity, there was no way he could prove her wrong.

After all, nothing else made sense other than the absurd reason she had given him.

Displeased with this answer, he could only let it go even though he knew that something did not make complete sense to him.

"But I have something to ask Sept.." Yvonne had turned her attention to the other person seated next to Sevenz as soon as she answered him.
