Chapter 805 - Sept's Reasoning

Sevenz focused on his pie, ignoring what was taking place between the two children in this room with him.

Due to his lack of interference, Yvonne was allowed to question the young boy with pale pink eyes as she pleased.

"Why were you so interested in my Demon?" She interrogated without forgetting to stress the fact that Demon was her pet.

She felt as though she was being childish just like the Princess had been but at that moment, all she wanted was answers, not caring for how she might seem in his eyes.

Sept had been eating in silence when he was targeted out of nowhere.

However, upon hearing her query, he simply shrugged before letting her know about the reason for his strange actions.

Sept revealed that though he was aware of how odd his actions might have seemed, he needed to figure something out and that was why he had been frequenting the St. Claire mansion.

Yvonne's curiosity only heightened at his statements and she probed him for more explanations which he seemed willing to give.

"Don't think too much about it but I can see things that others cannot." His haughty words made her brows furrow but she did not interrupt him.

Sevenz had mentioned something similar when they spoke earlier so she waited to hear what exactly this talent of Sept's was.

"The moment I stepped into your mansion, I sensed the presence of two etchers." He disclosed what was already known so Yvonne's expression was slightly impatient at that moment.

However, his next sentence was enough to stun her speechless.

"But one had a divine aura around them." He continued without noticing the odd look on her face.

Sept went on to explain that each time he had entered the St. Claire mansion after that day, he tried to figure out this otherworldly aura that Demon was giving off.

"And did you figure it out?" Yvonne had inquired in trepidation as she was already aware of which divine aura he must be speaking about.

Demon was present on the day when she and Asmodeus had that argument in the grazing field behind their mansion.

Not to mention that he was the only divine being that she was acquainted with which also explained the mystery behind why Demon, her etcher, had traces of that divine aura.

While Yvonne's conjecture was partly right, the true reason why Demon was giving off a divine aura had quite a few explanations behind it.

"The divine God worshipped by this Kingdom. I could sense his aura on your etcher." Sept had uttered those words while she was lost in her thoughts.

Sevenz and Jax who were in this room with her choked at what they had just heard.

The God that Sept had mentioned was none other than the God whom Yvonne had thought of earlier.

The other two in this room were shocked at this revelation but the young girl seemed unaffected by this surprising news which made them give her an incredulous look.

Yvonne was already aware of who that God must have been and also had a faint theory of why this was so.

However, when she was facing these three pairs of inquisitive eyes, she could only think of some way to wipe that strange look off their faces.

"I know my Demon is powerful so of course, he could even gain the attention of a God!" She boasted with his nose raised to the sky, causing them to scoff at her brazen confidence which knew no bounds.

Though Yvonne pretended to be proud of the fact that Demon had that Divine aura around him, she cursed the Bird God who had almost gotten her in trouble once again.

Not to mention that she had apologized to Demon through their mental link for having used his name in connection to that God's to save herself.

Demon, on the other hand, could not accept that apology as he indeed did possess the blessing of God Asmodeus who had assigned him the task of keeping his master safe.

This was the reason why he had the divine aura in his body but he could not reveal this matter to his master as it was supposed to be kept a secret from her.

"So you stopped coming to our mansion after you recognized that it was that Bir- ahem… Lord Asmodeus's divine aura?" She had inquired in an attempt to shift the topic and even succeeded right away.

She had almost slipped out the name she often called the one who had thrown her into this world but had managed to stop herself in the nick of time.

Sept nodded in answer as what she had said was the truth.

Once he realized that it was the Patron God of this Kingdom, he no longer felt the need to visit the St. Claire mansion without any valid reason.

Howard was no longer there so he did not wish to disturb the other residents, especially when Yvonne seemed too distrustful of him.

Upon hearing his reasoning, the little girl coughed before explaining that his actions were suspicious, to begin with, which had caused this entire mess.

Sept revealed that he did not mind it too much but when Yvonne inquired how he was able to figure out who the owner of the Divine aura was, the young boy only looked at her wordlessly.

It was clear to her that he did not wish to answer so she chose to let this matter go.

Once everything was sorted out, Yvonne had declared that she better leave now as she had a lot to accomplish for the day.

The questions that she had come for had been answered already.

She learned about the Princess's halfling, Sept's reason for visiting her mansion in the past and she had also answered Sevenz's questions.

Though both Sevenz and Yvonne had a few questions which did not receive satisfactory answers, they could only let it go for the moment.

Therefore, compromising on what they were able to achieve, Yvonne decided to head back home.

However, just before the child and her butler could leave the room, Sevenz's butler entered the room with a tray in his hand.

Looking at what was on that tray, Yvonne's eyes sparkled with surprise and excitement before she glanced at her business partner.

"We made a deal, didn't we?" Sevenz chuckled upon noticing the exuberant look on her face.

The same fragrant gems that were introduced during Duchess Tanner's tea party were now being placed before her.

Sevenz had promised to let her have her pick of the gems in his possession if she could answer his questions.

Since she had done her part, he did not back down from keeping up his half of the deal.

Each gem possessed a distinct fragrance and Yvonne sat with the tray before her, picking each gem to take a good whiff of its fragrance before placing the ones she liked aside.

Only when she found the right one for her did a bright smile form on her face.

"I'll bring my brothers along and let them pick a few too." She informed Sevenz while holding the translucent gem with streaks of blue around it.

This wasn't the same as the one her mother had picked at the Tanner tea party but Yvonne preferred this scent over that one.

An aquatic fragrance that reminded her of the ocean breeze, refreshing and calming was being emitted from the gem in her hand.

"I'll take this for now." She declared before rising to her feet.

Bidding goodbye to the two relatives seated on the couch, Yvonne and Jax walked out of the room as soon as she had completed her sentence.

Yvonne had accomplished what she had come here for and headed home without wasting another second in that mansion, leaving the uncle and nephew to their own devices.

In the Office, the little girl's hands were swift as she sorted out the files she had completed, resulting in the table before her being divided into two halves.

"Only a few left, Papa, You better hurry." She mocked her father who was seated at a short distance away from her table but had a mountain load of documents that needed his attention.

They had spent a few hours in this room already and it looked like he would need another few to complete everything today.
