Book 2: Chapter 1 (5/7)

Kain blocked all ax slashes while receiving continuous damages by Vedas's flaming aura. However, all of Kain’s injuries were quickly healed by his active [Abyssal Flesh] form. Finwe activated [Thunder Step] and rushed behind Vedas in an attempt of stabbing him in the back. Kain also started going on the offense mode by throwing a powerful punch toward Vedas to help out Finwe. Vedas quickly reacted by turning around to blocked Finwe’s sword strike using one of his battle axes while using the other battle-ax to blocked Kain’s power punch attack. Their physical strength battle went on for nearly ten minutes, Vedas calculated his mana pool and decided to break off the physical battle by casting [Force Punch] toward Finwe and Finwe easily casted [Thunder Claws] spell on time to destroy it.

Finwe also calculated his stamina pool and noticed it was near depletion. But he still had nearly twenty percent of the mana pool left. Finwe asked Kain telepathically through the abyss link connected between them, “Should I use [Storm Bringer] now?”

“Not yet. Vedas haven't used [Summon Demon Lord] yet. I still need you to reserve your mana pool at this time.”

Right after Kain said so, the Black Panther Vedas casted [Summon Demon Lord] to summon Amdusias, the single horn horse-faced female Demon Lord of the Third Gate. Amdusias can’t fly because she doesn’t have wings. And the funny thing is, Amdusias is a demon who possessed an Angelic Soul which allowed her to use Light Magic spells. Due to Vedas’s current level, Amdusias couldn’t use any of her self-created Saint-tier Light Magic spells. Despite this, having a Light magic caster as an enemy isn’t what Kain was hoping for at this time.

Because she was transported to this realm through a summoning spell, Amdusias was forced to scale level with her summoner. That means her current level was reduced to 45 and she couldn’t use [Angelic Avatar] to transform herself into an Angel. Amdusias quickly casted [Mana Regeneration] and [Health Regeneration] on Vedas to slowly heal his injuries while recovering his mana pool as well. She then casted [Summon Angel Warrior] to summon a Four Wings Angel to protect her.

Kain thought to himself, “This is f**ked up. I was waiting for Vedas to get mana depletion to kill him. But how the heck am I gonna do it since [Mana Regeneration] and [Health Regeneration] spells were casted on him? I have no other option but to flee from this battle.”

Kain didn’t care about the Black Panther knowing that he is a Blood Mage. Who is Vedas gonna tell? Another magical creature? Yeah, who cares about that? Magical creatures will kill all humans on sight and vice versa. Matter of fact, magical creatures were allowed to exist because the Mages Council didn’t want to completely wipe them out. Not only because Magical Creatures can produce Elemental Magical Stones, but because they are good live training targets for Student Mages to gain battle experience.

Each nation has its magical forests granted to them by the Watcher Zorim. Several small nations such as the Nalas Kingdom didn’t have a magical forest at first. That is why they have to create their human-made magical forests by paying Executioners to capture weak magical creatures from other kingdoms and bring them to their nations for reproduction. Magical Forests help the nation in producing Elemental Magical Stones to help improve the nation’s economy.

Kain deactivated his [Abyssal Flesh] form then advised Finwe telepathically using the abyss link, “Finwe, we won’t be able to defeat them now. Will you keep them busy while I make my escape?”

“Not a problem. But my mana pool has around twenty percent left and my stamina is near depletion.” Finwe has no problem sacrificing for Kain. It is just another way to teleport back to his realm without Kain’s activating banishment.

“Your [Storm Bringer] should be able to keep them busy at least for another four minutes. Let me release the Phantom Leech to assist you as well.”

Kain tapped into his LYAUR and released the Phantom Leech. Phantom Leech is a Phantom Knight with the ability to heal itself by damaging the enemy. Its physical strength is on par with a tenth-tier warrior.

Kain advised Finwe through the abyss link, “The Phantom Leech should be strong enough to be able to resist the [Puppeteer] spell cast by a Legend-tier Black magic caster. It should have no problem fighting with the Four Wings Angel while you deal with Vedas and Amdusias.” Finwe nodded to acknowledge this information as Kain casted [Vampiric Swarm] to fly away.

While flying away in the Vampire-Bats’ form, Kain thought to himself, “I hope the Student Mages have already made their escape. If for some stupid reason they wanted to take their sweet time, then they will just have to blame themselves. I won’t sacrifice my precious life for any of their stupid ass.”

Kain thought he could kill the Black Panther Vedas that was why he wanted Arthur to leave so he could use Blood Magic. Vedas is a Legend-tier Black Panther, he must drop at least one or two Magical Black Stones after Kain kills him. Kain’s Second Soul is a Black Blood Mage, he would love to have some Magical Black Stones embedded into his robes. But Kain’s strategy plans changed from winning to losing after Amdusias was summoned. If it was any other Demon Lord, Kain wouldn’t run away since he and Finwen can team up to defeat them. But Amdusias can use healing and regeneration magic spells, Kain and Finwe won’t be able to outlast them in the long battle. Despite his calculation being wrong, Kain didn’t mind about it that much. No battle plans will constantly occur according to his calculation, that is why he always has an escape strategy to use when shit hits the fence.

“Eh… what is she doing here?” Kain asked himself as he flew past Jaane. Jaane didn’t pay attention to a swarm of bats that were flying from the opposite direction she was running toward because she was too busy putting her focus on heading East where Kain previously was.

Kain deactivated [Vampiric Swarm] spell, quickly hid the Blood Ring under his tongue, then yelled out loud, “Jaane!”

Jaane turned her head around, she saw Kain then ran toward him. She said in a happy tone “Kain! You are alive!”

“Of course, I am alive. What are you doing here?”

“I thought you may need help. I-”

“Stop, I wasn’t actually looking for an answer. We don’t have time for chit chat.”

Kain grabbed Jaane’s right hand using his left hand and continued running toward the South to get out of this magical forest. Three minutes later, Kain and Jaane heard a very loud roar behind them. Kain said, “This is not good. My Finwe and the Phantom Leech won’t be able to hold them any longer. We won’t be able to outrun Amdusias and Vedas on foot. We have to hide immediately.”

After two seconds of thinking, Kain said, “I have an idea. Take off your clothes.”

Jaane would have done anything Kain told her to, but not this. She asked, “Huh… huh?”

“No time to explain, take off all of your clothes now!” Kain didn’t scream, but he said it in a very serious tone which made Jaane afraid to question his intention.
