Book 2: Chapter 7 (6/9)

Kain didn’t believe Iris. He immediately chanted for [Second Soul] spell but couldn’t activate it. “No! I don’t want this Vampire Emperor crap anymore. Please reserve me back to the way I was.”

Iris said, “There is no way to reverse that. That was why I said I didn’t think you were that stupid. Anyway, the reward for completing the Fourth-tier is a Tykan Eye granted to you by Watcher Tykan himself.”

Kain opened his eyes widely as he heard of the Tykan Eye. He asked, “Will using the Tykan Eye grant me access to [Second Soul] spell again?”

“Of course. You will be able to repair your Twin Soul which once again allows you to use blood pools inside Magical Blood Stone as well. Nonetheless, one magic caster can only have a maximum of two Tykan Eyes. By using this Tykan Eye, you will never be able to use another one.”

“That would not be a problem. As long as I can access my [Second Soul] spell again, that is good enough.”

“If you didn’t eat the Vampire Emperor’s heart, you would have to gain access to [Third Soul] spell that allows you to create another clone of yourself that gives you the ability to use another Elemental Magic. That means you will have the ability to create two clones of yourself. But since you only gain access back to [Second Soul] spell, you won’t be able to learn another Elemental Magic.”

“It’s alright. I don't give a f**k about that.” Kain said in an angry tone.

“Normally the Tykan Eye can’t be used on the magic caster possessed Twin Soul that has broken through Master-tier. But since you have already had one Tykan Eye before, you may use the second one regardless of reaching any level. Even though you won’t gain the ability to learn another Elemental Magic, you can still use the Tykan Eye to upgrade either your Demonic Soul or Conjurer Soul.”

“Upgrade?”

“Yes. Demonic Soul can be upgraded to Devil Soul which allows you to use [Devil Anatomy] that can give you access to powerful magic spells only the Devils could cast. Of course, you can create Saint-tier spells for your Devil Soul as well. Conjurer Soul can be upgraded to Necromancer Soul which allowed you to create loyal minions from powerful corpses and locked them in the Dark Vortex. Those loyal minions will never betray you and they literally can’t be killed at all. They will keep using your mana to instantly revive themself regardless of how many times they die. Similarly, you may create Saint-tier spells for your Necromancer Soul if you are talented enough.”

“Ah… I have been thinking about what the heck you meant by Necromancy Magic. I think I understand it now.”

Kain looked toward the corpse of Xenos Heliot and thought, “If I have such a powerful Vampire Emperor to be my minion…”

Kain asked, “Can I create as many minions as I wanted?”

Iris answered, “Each Dark Vortex can hold a maximum of ten minions. You can have a maximum of two Dark Vortexes.”

“That means I can only have twenty minions in total huh? Can I make minions out of any corpses?”

“Yes, you can only have twenty minions total. Only the corpses of enemies who were slain by you or your conjured/summoned creatures can be turned into your minions.”

“What about [Devil Anatomy]? Would you please explain it to me as well?”

“While having powerful loyal minions to serve you is great, but having the power of a Devil is on a different level. Have you ever witnessed a battle between a Devil and an Archangel?”

“No, I haven’t. But I saw an Archangel once.”

“Then you should understand how powerful an Archangel can be. Let's not count the magical power side. The physical strength of Devils and Archangels are on the same par with each other. Imagine possessing such power, even God-tier Warriors can't look down on you. Because God-tiers were forced to stay in the higher realms, Devils, and Archangels are considered the most powerful beings in the lower realms. Even after you advanced into the God-tier, having the power of a Devil will give you tremendous advantages against other God-tier Mages.”

After several minutes of silence allowing Kain to think, Iris asked, “So Kain, what will be your decision? Do you want to upgrade your Demonic Soul to Devil Soul? Or, are you going to upgrade your Conjurer Soul to Necromancer Soul?”

Another two minutes passed. Seeing Kain was still undecided between Devil and Necromancer Soul, Iris said, “I think you should go for the Necromancer Soul.”

“Why is that?” Kain asked in a suspicious tone.

“Because you are a half-man, half-vampire. Your Second Soul can’t have the ability to share the Vampire Emperor’s power with you. That is why you should use Black Magic combined with Vampire Emperor’s strength while having your Second Soul use the Necromancy Magic combined with Conjuration Magic. You alone can face any powerful being by yourself while your Second Soul can unleash powerful minions and conjure magical creatures from different realms to assist you in battle."

"Hmm... It sounded very tempting."

"Hear me out on this. Activating [Devil Anatomy] spell will give you access to unique spells that only the Devil could cast, but it would prohibit you from casting magic spells for all other Elemental Magics including Black and Blood Magics. I mean, you can always let your Second Soul use [Devil Anatomy] so it won’t interfere with you using Vampire Emperor’s power, Blood Magic and Conjuration Magic. Despite that, go for Necromancy Magic, you can trust me on this.” Iris carefully explained to Kain hoping he will make the right decision. To be honest, Iris and Watcher Zorim bet that Kain would pick Necromancer that was why she attempted to influence his decision.

“I see. I have made my decision. Please hand me the Tykan Eye.” Kain smiled as he put out his right hand waiting for Iris to place the Tykan Eye on it.

Holding the Tykan Eye in his hand, Kain asked, “After I completed the Fifteenth-tier of this Timeless Dungeon, will I be able to upgrade the other Elemental Soul as well?”

“Of course not. You won’t be able to choose a specialization for your warrior class as well as upgrade one of your Elemental Soul. Because a different type of reward will be given to you after completing the Fifteenth-tier.”

“I see. May I know what kind of reward it would be?”

“The Watchers are still contemplating about it.”

“In that case, I have to be very careful of choosing to either upgrade my Demonic Soul or Conjurer Soul.”

“That is correct. The choice is yours. Still, I hate to see you make the wrong decision again.”

“Damn it, Iris. Why can’t I just have both? Here is my decision, I will choose Necromancer Soul because I know that I will face many powerful enemies for the next eleven tiers of this Timeless Dungeon. I will gather twenty powerful corpses to be my loyal minions before coming back to Toria Continents.”

“As you wish. Close your eyes then put the Tykan Eye up on your forehead.” Iris was so happy when she heard Kain had picked the Necromancer Soul instead of the Devil Soul. “A hundred Soul Stones, I’m gonna be rich!” Iris thought to herself thinking about the bet that she is going to win against another Dungeon Guardian.
