Approximately an hour later, both Kath and Adrik stopped fighting knowing no one else was around. Kath sprinted toward Adrik and fell into his arms as she said, “My love, I have missed you so much.”
Adrik kissed Kath on her forehead and warmingly said, “So do I.” He then used his left hand to touch Kath’s chin, lifted it, and kissed her lips for three long minutes. “Everything happened according to my plan.” Adrik said after finished kissing Kath.
“Why didn’t you kill them all? Why would you want me to save them?”
“If they all die, the Mages Council will be disintegrating. What are the benefits for you to inherit the Holy Mage position if that happens?”
“But leaving them alive will expose me as the traitor, isn’t it? Only Gwenn, Noe, and I knew that David Bodwyn was a Blood Mage. How can I explain to Gwenn and Noe about the Guild Master of the Blood Mages Guild knowing that the Mages Council was going to attack today.”
“That could easily be fixed. Even though Gwenn let David drink the Large Mana Potion and didn’t let him cast magic spells for a month. But what if he checks the blood pools of his Magical Blood Equipment? There is no explanation for his Blood Equipment to be depleted unless he used it in battle. Through meticulous thinking, David figured out that he was killed and revived by the Mages Council. Therefore, David could figure out the Mages Council wanted to use him as bait to destroy the Blood Mages Guild. This is how he and the Guild Master of the Blood Mages Guild decided to lay a trap waiting for the Mages Council to attack.”
“Ah, I understand it now. If I bring this up, Gwenn and Noe won’t suspect me at all.”
“Yes, and the fact that you saved those worthless pieces of shit further proves that you have nothing to do with their plan about attacking the Blood Mages Guild being exposed.”
After talking for several more minutes, Kath used her Earth Magic to create a small house made out of clay allowing Adrik and her to ‘reunite their love’. Sex before marriage is taboo but the laws were created by the strong for the weak to follow. That is why it doesn’t apply to powerful magic casters such as Kath Donoghan and Adrik Volsky.
Adrik Volsky was born in the year 172,641 of the 45th Calendar at a village near Thorview city belonging to the Kingdom of Winhardia. At the age of three, Adrik’s parents brought him to Crowbay, the capital city, to examine to see if he possessed an Elemental Soul or not. His parents were so happy when they saw he possessed an Ice Soul which means he can study to become an Ice Mage in the future. That was supposed to be Adrik’s happiest day, but it quickly changed to the worst day of his life when he saw a three years old girl and her parents were killed by the guards in front of him. At the time a guard stabbed the Twin Soul girl in the head, the blood of that girl spat on Adrik’s face as she pulled her right hand out asking for his help. Just when Adrik was walking closer and attempted to help the girl, his parents pulled him back while yelling at him out loud, “Twin Soul children are evil, you can’t be near any of them!” Adrik had no idea what Twin Soul children meant until he studied about it during his time in the Mages Academy. The image of that Twin Soul girl begging for his help appeared in his sleep every night for the next four years after that which still sometimes haunted Adrik in his sleep even now, over three million years later.
At the age of thirty, Adrik graduated from the Mages’ Academy of Crowbay as a level 22 Master-tier Ice Mage. Because he wasn’t talented, no Lord from the Mages Council wanted to recruit him. Adrik joined a small Mages Guild and made enough money to take care of his parents to live comfortable lives. After Adrik turned forty, that was when his magical training started to boost. He quickly went from a level 30 Master-tier Ice Mage into level 50 Legend-tier Ice Mage in just ten years. After that, it took him only seventy years to break through the Legend-tier’s barrier to advance into level 51 of the Saint-tier. At this time, an Executioner of the Blue wanted to recruit Adrik to join the Blue but he strongly refused to serve any Lord of the Mages Council.
“At the time I wanted to join the Mages Council to take care of my parents better, you have denied me. Now that my parents have died of old age, you asked me to join the Blue after seeing my rapid advancement in training magic? Thank you for the invitation, but I will never serve any Lord of the Mages Council.” Adrik told the Executioner as he refused to join the Blue.
Adrik then joined a big Mages Guild to make more money. After Adrik advanced into level 60, he then quit the big Mages Guild he was working for and went to Flumen city to apply to be a Solo-Executioner. Adrik hunted down countless powerful Legend-tier and Saint-tier Rogue Mages but he had never hunted any Blood Mages that were considered to be 'good' in his opinion. There were evil Blood Mages that massacred humans in some villages to collect their blood but couldn't revive them after that because they weren't Blood Light Mages that can use the [Mass Resurrection] spell. Those evil Blood Mages enjoyed the taste of killing for their own benefits, that was why Adrik tracked them down and killed them at all cost. But for Blood Mages that use Light Magic to revive everyone through [Mass Resurrection] after collecting blood, Adrik regularly looks the other way to let them live.
One day, Adrik was tracking down a strong level 72 Rogue Mage who has been causing terror in the Kingdom of Qarte. That was when he saw Kath Donoghan was fighting with two powerful Rogue Mages that have reached level 80. Kath was just a level 76 Saint Earth Mage and she was a Member of the Brown at the time. Kath was on a mission for something else when she was ambushed by those two Rogue Mages that intended to kill her in a magical forest near Zachiel city for the Magical Equipment she possessed. Adrik was just a level 73 Saint Ice Mage, but his courage in helping out Kath facing two Rogue Mages who were much stronger than they were moved had her heart. Long story short, Adrik and Kath successfully escaped after Adrik was heavily injured. If it wasn’t for Adrik’s self-created Saint Ice Magic spell named [Ice Wings], they wouldn’t have made it out of that magical forest alive.
After finding a good spot to hide, Kath healed Adrik’s injuries through her [Healing Vines] spell. Despite Kath was already safe and Adrik's injuries were healed, he continued protecting her until she completed her mission entrusted to Kath by the Lord of Brown at that time. After spending six months together with Kath, Adrik fell in love with her without realizing it. Kath had the same feeling for Adrik as well and what must come will come. On a rainy night of sleeping inside a dark cave together, they have ‘connected’ their love for the first time. The morning after that, Kath wrote a note for Adrik then left the cave to continue with her mission while he was still sleeping.
