Yaksha observed Cheng Xiu, trying to think of a solution.
He turned to Diana. "Have Luther come here."
Diana's eyes widened and darted towards San Zhe.
Yaksha knew why she was shocked by his words. In the Other World, the only ones who knew about Yaksha and Luther being acquaintance was Diana.
Yaksha wanted to keep their contact a secret so that he had hidden weapons in the game amongst the Elites.
Diana saw the determination in his crimson eyes and sighed. She nodded and contacted him through a talisman.
A shadowy figure appeared near Yaksha's shoulder. It materialised into a man wearing black cloak. Blue diamond floated above his head, indicating that he was a player.
San Zhe looked at the man in shock. "You are Luther BloodStar! The player who became a Vampire in the game!"
Luther ignored San Zhe and bowed to Yaksha. "My Lord?"
Yaksha sat on the ground, and let Cheng Xiu's head fall on his shoulder. Her head moved about, almost like she was dead.
"Analyse her body conditions."
Luther looked at the girl in suspicion. This was not the first time that he had seen women act like they had fainted so that the young master would catch them but it was the first time that he had seen it happen in the game world.
"She is not faking it," Yaksha said as he recognized the hesitance in Luther's body language.
Luther blushed at being called out by the young master himself.
He tried to take his mind off such thoughts and thought of the girl's actions so far. It made sense that she would lose her consciousness even In-game. After all, the radiation of the game must be really strong for the Arena Battles, and hers were extraordinary ones.
In fact, now that he thought of it, the girl's strong mindset and the personality that he and witnessed so far made her a good enough candidate for the young master even if this ended up being a ploy.
So long as it worked…he nodded to his own thoughts and brought out an old tattered book. He flipped through its pages and reached towards the end, where he found what he was looking for.
He opened his mouth, and fangs appeared. He bit into his own hand and let the blood fall onto the ground.
Luther began to mutter as he placed a hand on Cheng Xiu's temple.
There was a flash of light and a hologram appeared above their head.
San Zhe sat there in a daze as he realised that a Vampire just did a Bloodspell. He just witnessed the legendary Bloodspell!
Yaksha looked at the information listed in the interface with a frown on his face. "Is this showing the correct data?"
Luther blinked. The young master had never questioned his work before. What did he encounter that made him do something so out of the ordinary?
Luther observed the data interface that he had pulled out about Cheng Xiu and found himself stumped. "Why isn't this girl dead yet?"
San Zhe glared at the man for his insensitive words.
"She should be dead already with the amount of damage that she sustained at the hands of Immortal Frost. I knew it was bad, but why is she alive when it looks like she was hit with damage that would kill those at Level 10?"
Yaksha looked through the Interface data to find out whether there was anything that he had overlooked. His eyes fell on the Qi Capacity of Cheng Xiu which showed an abnormal behaviour. A theory began to form in his mind as he observed it.
Diana realised what he was looking at. "Look at her Qi Capacity, Luther."
Luther frowned as he stared at the Qi data for sometime, unable to tell what was wrong immediately. It took him a while to realise what Diana was implying at. "Why is her Qi capacity at 40% filled already?"
Yaksha smiled. "I think you already know the answer."
Luther sighed. "She has some kind of a passive healing ability."
"It is more than that," Diana protested. "I can sense that she does have a healing ability of somesort, but it is too weak. Her Qi is returning on its own because of something else."
Luther frowned and turned to San Zhe who still sat in a daze. "Do you know?"
"What?"
Luther rolled his eyes at the man's response. "Do you know the reason for her increased Qi capacity?"
"No...I don't think I do."
Luther rolled his eyes again. "You are not that use-"
"Can you guess at something?" Yaksha asked, cutting through Luther's sure to be derogating words.
San Zhe nodded. "The other Immortals said that sister Xiu gained...consicious Qi Burst?"
"Qi brust is throwing your Qi at your enemy," Luther said in irritaiton. "Do you see your Sister Xiu bursting with adrenaline rush?"
San Zhe shook his head, flushing in embarrassment.
"But you are on the right track," Yaksha said to San Zhe in a comforting tone.
Luther glared at San Zhe, jealous of the young master's deference to the man.
"I am?" San Zhe asked.
Yaksha nodded. "She must be using Qi Absorbtion to regain her Qi faster."
"Everyone does that though," Luther argued. "but we don't see this level of recovery rate in them!"
Yaksha sighed. "I imagine she is able to consciously use Qi Absorption, and she must have a very high rank in the real world."
Luther hummed. "I understand, My Lord."
"I suppose the only thing that we can do right now is to wait," Diana said as she leaned against San Zhe with a yawn.
San Zhe choked on nothing and coughed.
Diana giggled.
Luther massaged the bridge of his nose to aliviate the pain that came with seeing the NPC's silly antics.
Yaksha pulled Cheng Xiu's bangs out of her face, and held her a bit tighter in his embrace. He was not comfortable about the fact that she was so still. They met after so many years, and their first meeting after a long time was her being unconscious in his arms.
They watched as the Qi capacity went up and up, until in reached 75%. And then a new progress bar appeared which had the title of "Health." It began at 1% and started to go up fast.
When the progress bar reached 20%, Cheng Xiu body glowed and her body pixalated away.
San Zhe looked down at his empty hands in confusion. "Wha..."
"She just went to get her rewards for the Immortal Frost battle," Yaksha said as he curled his hands into fists. She had to be okay. Even though it was just a VR death, Yaksha was not willing to see his friend be defeated by those arrogant lot who liked to call themselves experts.
She was bullied into it, and won. She deserved a complete victory. She should not face death at their hands. Or anyone else's, for that matter.
She was his Enemy to fight, to defeat, to kill. No one else had the right, or should have the power to do so.
Diana placed her hand on his shoulder, calming him down somewhat.
Luther could not help the feeling of satisfaction that came with seeing the progress bars go up. He had to admit that he had started to like SelaXiu for her fighting prowess, and to see that she could pull herself out of even such a strong near death situation made Luther truely appreciate the girl.
He finally also understood his young master's obssession with the girl. His want to defeat her on equal terms.
But Luther could not help but wonder if there were other feelings involved in his master's actions than just appreciation for his enemy.
To many it would be the default conclusion, but for Luther...he did not dare hope. The young master's distaste of love and relationships of that kind made him worried that he might read into things the way that they weren't. So he could not let himself hope.
San Zhe relaxed after he heard Yaksha's words. Getting rewards meant that Cheng Xiu was alright.
Though it had not happened in the last 5 years, the chances of death while playing VR games was still a possiblity for Qiless like them. The reason was that, the radiation that was exerted on the brain was far stronger than regular VR sessions. And Cheng Xiu was pulled into an Arena match, which required a stronger radiation. He was still shocked by how much Cheng Xiu could withstand.
San Zhe had no doubt in his mind that if it was any other Qiless than the S-Ranked Cheng Xiu, they would have died during the first match. He could not help feel a bit teary-eyed at the thought.
He would never reach the hight that she did, and though he felt a bit envious of her situation, San Zhe also felt even more admiration for Cheng Xiu grow in his heart. He could relax now, for some time.
No looming matches or Immortals to worry about for the time being and Cheng Xiu was actually safe and sound.
He wondered what kind of rewards she would receive for the Frost Battle.
San Zhe was sure that it would be something that he could not even dream of.
