Cheng Xiu blinked open her eyes and looked around in bewilderment. She was back in the White Room.
Cheng Xiu felt disoriented. She remembered fainting after the Immortals were kicked out of the game, which made her extremely happy. She had never known she would be happy about someone's misfortune, but she was.
She was sure that she would end up dying anyway but was unwilling to just give up.
Cheng Xiu used Qi Absorption at the last minute.
She wondered if it helped her or not. Cheng Xiu hoped it did.
[Ding!]
Cheng Xiu looked up on instinct, aware that this sound was accompanied by rewards for her so far…she even got a fountain to her name. What an honour.
Cheng Xiu ignored the fact that she hated those ones in particular.
[Player Selafia Veritas has passed the Battle 5 of the Grandmaster's Arena against Immortal Frost of the Beautiful Dead Guild.
+1 to all stats
+Nature Manipulaon Skill Level 1]
Cheng Xiu's eyes sparkled as she looked at the newest skill that she had. And she did not recognise the skill name though she could guess as to its content.
It must be the Other World only skill or from the other games that the Other World had devoured over the years.
[Ding!]
Cheng Xiu pursed her lips.
She wondered what this one could be about.
[Host has passed the 5 Arena Battles againt Grandmasters, and your overall completion you're overall 98.97%]
Cheng Xiu frowned. "What happened to the rest of the points?"
[Host barely won against Immortal Lotus, and Immortal Frost.]
Cheng Xiu reviewed her fights so far and realised that it was correct some what.
"Still…so many points…"
[Host shouldn't be so obsessed with scores. What matters is that you have won.]
"What is the use of winning, if my scores are poor? Is that any better than losing?"
If the system could hit its head against a wall, it would have done the deed by now.
[Host Selafia Veritas has gained
+1 chance to gain a soul weapon shard for her completion of 5 battles the Grandmaster's Arena.]
Cheng Xiu frowned. "That sounds familiar. What is Soul Weapons?"
[Ding!]
[Soul Weapons are a speciality of The Other World. They are weapons created from the Player's own Qi, and hence, only they can use it. Soul weapons can not be sold, they can only be attained through defeating the previous holder.
If someone steals your Soul Weapon, then it means you lose your Qi Core itself and you will lose your status as a cultivator, which means, to Players of the Adventure Guild, their accounts are deleted, and they would have to start afresh.]
Cheng Xiu was shocked. That was some OP thing right there.
[Would you like to use the chance now?]
Cheng Xiu nodded automatically. She still couldn't believe that she was getting this chance.
"What are the chances of me getting a Soul Weapon without this chance?"
[70%]
That was higher than she had assumed. "Is it so high for everyone or did I trigger something or the other?"
[A player with the Immortal Name Quest has a greater chance of gaining a Soul Weapon than others.]
Cheng Xiu nodded, not that surprised. There had to be a reason for her to have such a high chance of success, and now, she finally knew where she had heard the term "Soul Weapon."
[Would Player Selafia Veritas like to use her chance to try to obtain the soul Weapon Shard?]
Cheng Xiu hmmed. "You say shard, which means that I have to find the rest of the shards to make it a complete Weapon. How many pieces of shards should I gather to make a complete Weapon?"
[7 Soul Weapon Shards.]
Cheng Xiu was surprised by the low number. "What are the chances of me obtaining all the Shards pieces?"
[85%]
Cheng Xiu raised her eyebrows. "That is…is it because of the fact that I have the Immortal Name Quest that I have such a high chance?"
[No.]
Cheng Xiu fell into silence, waiting for the System to substantiate. It took her some time to realise that the System is not going to substantiate unless she asked for it.
"What do you mean by no? What other reason is there?"
There was silence again. [Player Selafia Veritas has the User Identity of 4444.]
Cheng Xiu tilted her head curiously. Why did she feel familiar about those digits? Cheng Xiu finally realised what that number represented.
"I got this high a chance because I played the Primordials?"
[No. It is because you are of User ID 4444.]
Cheng Xiu frowned. "Meaning?"
[Player Selafia Veritas of User ID 4444 is the only person to hold the title of the True Primordial. It gives you a higher chance of fortunate encounters in the Other World.]
Cheng Xiu frowned. "That title…what does it mean? What all things does it effect?"
[Player Selafia Veritas is at Level 2 of the Other World. You do not meet the conditions to access such information at the moment.]
Cheng Xiu's brows knitted. She was not happy about the fact that she had to keep her curiousity to a bare minimum but she also understood that there were levels to everything.
"At what level can I access the rest of the information?"
[At Level 60 onwards.]
Cheng Xiu was surprised by how long that would take. But she did not allow herself to let it to get her down. It was just another reason for her to reach that level, and higher!
[Would Player Selafia Veritas like to use her chance?]
Cheng Xiu's lips hooked upwards. "You really are persistant huh? I have two more questions though."
[Please go ahead.]
Cheng Xiu supressed a smile at the annoyance that she could hear in the AI's tone. "If I use this chance, and loose it, will I still be able to go after the Weapon shards on my own?"
[Yes. That is possible.]
Cheng Xiu nodded. "Is it possible to take up the shards route, and still go about trying to get hold of the Soul Weapons as whole, instead of just shards?"
[Yes. It is still possible.]
Cheng Xiu took a deep breath and let a sigh of relief. "Then yes, I would like to use my chance to try to get the Soul Weapon Shard."
[Ding!]
[Accessing Palyer Data. Player Selafia Veritas linked to her soul portal.]
The walls around her turned golden and the sound temple bells started to echo from every corner of the room.
A red portal appeared in the air.
Cheng Xiu looked up, half her face reflecting the golden light form the walls and the other half reflecting the red of the potral.
Cheng Xiu gulped. There was something ominous about the portal itself, let alone the clear unnatural light that it emitted.
Cheng Xiu took a step forward, and then a second, and then a third. Her hesitant feet gained confidence as she got nearer to it.
An eerie humming began to echo from inside the portal.
She was only a few feet away when she felt a suction sensation envelope her, pulling her towards the crimson portal.
Cheng Xiu's phoenix eyes reflected the red light of the portal as she went through it.
She felt a sense of virtigo for a moment, and the portal spit her out of it.
Cheng Xiu rolled out of the portal onto wet grass.
Cheng Xiu frowned as she stood up, and looked around.
There were high walls, and white diamond encrusted ceilings that allowed the place, a small room, she fell in shown in white splendor.
The colours of the walls might have been yellow or gold at once upon a time but now, it was indistinguishable from the other washed out things.
She found herself in a ruined Chinese Palace.
The sound of blades clashign reached her ears.
Cheng Xiu turned towards that direction and started to walk.
She found herself in a long, narrow corridor.
Cheng Xiu followed the sound of the weapons.
The sound got bigger and louder as she got closer and closer.
The palace walls were made of rocks that were chipped away and the flooring was all grass now.
Cheng Xiu reached a bend, and turned the corner to find herself in some kind of a training room.
The sound of the weapons seized.
At the far end where the lighting was not as bright, leaning against the wall, stood a woman.
She wore deep red martial robes, and two swords were tied to her back. She had the air of a weary traveller than that of a powerful martial artist but her rigid body and her conserved stance gave away the fact that she was an accomplished fighter, one who has seen many things in the world and was unphased by it.
Cheng Xiu took hesitant steps towards her, and stopped when she got a look at her face.
More specifically, the woman did not have a face.
Cheng Xiu looked at the unmoving faceless figure in trepidation, but she knew that she had to face this woman.
She could not let her opportunity to go to waste. If she could get a shard at the moment, she had to try.
Cheng Xiu stepped forward.
The diamonds on the ceiling flashed and the entire room became visible.
Cheng Xiu stepped back in horror.
