Cheng Xiu removed the headgear, grabbed her purse from the table and dashed out of her dorm room.
She slipped past a few girls who were huddled in a corner with what looked like weed between them.
Cheng Xiu did not mind them as she dashed out of the dormitory.
It was already night time. She thought that she stayed for about 8 to 10 hours of in the game but looking at the dark sky she must have stayed for 8 hours in the real world time and that meant she had already spent 16 hours in the game.
Cheng Xiu frowned for a bit. That timeline exceeded her initial estimate by a bit. The quest was taking far longer to fulfil than she had thought possible, even for a Qiless, it was a bit too much.
Cheng Xiu ran off until she reached a tall white building.
She approached the ID scanner at the wall and showed her student ID to the screen.
There was a beeping sound and the large wall opened to reveal a large well lit hallway.
There were a bunch of boys sitting at a couch, discussing their projects, and writing notes. When the door opened they looked and stared.
"Is that a girl?" one of the boys asked in disbelief.
Cheng Xiu heard the voice and looked towards them.
The boy who had spoken was startled. He looked away in fear.
Cheng Xiu walked towards them.
"Great going, idiot," one his friends hissed to him.
The young man curled to the side like a wounded beast. How was he to know that the girl would actually hear his words and come over?
"Which year?" she asked, her fair face slightly flushed from her run and her voice a little hoarse.
The young man looked towards his friends for help.
They turned their faces away from him.
With a sigh, he decided to confront the unknown creature called as a woman with honesty. "Third years."
Cheng Xiu's eyes widened. "Then do you guys know senior brother San Zhe? He is of the mathematics department and will be graduating in a year."
The young man gaped. So this little sister was hear to dig out information on her crush? He had seen many girls do that hear of course so he was not surprised that she would come here but…out of all the people in the world, why was she asking about San Zhe? Though the guy was smart, that was the only thing that was going for him and looking at the beautiful belle in front of him, the man was obviously not worthy of being in her shadows.
Forget it.
Girls were obviously crazy creatures and the prettier they were the crazier they would be.
"Junior Sister," the young man called, "What do you want to know? I know that Senior, I can put in a word for you."
Cheng Xiu blinked. "Take me to his room."
The boys gasped.
Cheng Xiu frowned. She knew her words would be seen in a different light but she was not in the mood to correct them. "Please."
"sure!" the young man said.
His friends hissed at him. It was already a bit painful that the girl was asking for San Zhe but did this idiot have to deliver the girl to the door?
The young man got up before his friends could stop him and escorted Cheng Xiu up the stairs.
His friends decided to follow after the two. After all, a girl walked into the Dormitory and was going to confess to a peer. They had to curse their relationship to fail while the girl confessed so that the guy wouldn't be happy.
"Can you hurry?" Cheng Xiu said to the man as he walked up the stairs at a slow pace. "I need to see him!"
The young man looked at her from the corner of his eyes. "I am Wang XiaoFu."
"Then hurry, brother Wang."
The two ran up the stairs.
He took out a red card and swiped it at the wall that the stairs lead to.
It revealed a corridor that was forked to four sides.
This was the reason why Cheng Xiu had to get the help of the boy. They needed a building ID to access the residential corridor. Her student pass would only give her access to the lobby.
"He is in 404."
What an unlucky number, she thought in her mind.
She ran towards the direction that the man had pointed towards.
The boys ran after her. They had to witness it with their eyes.
She stood in front of 404 and stared at the door for a few minutes.
She knocked on the door.
There was no response.
She knocked a few times more but still there was no response.
"Brother San!" she called. "Brother San, it's me! Cheng Xiu! Open the door! Are you okay? Brother San?"
The group of boys behind her looked at one another. They knew each other already?
"Brother San? Are you hurt?" she asked, her voice laced with concern.
"He must have confessed to her through a message," a chubby man guessed.
"She must have rejected him," the thin boy next to him said.
"So he threatened to hurt himself," Wang XiaoFu said at last.
"Brother San!" Cheng Xiu stood still for a moment after that. She turned to the boys behind her. "Please call the Warden."
Wang XiaoFu nodded and turned to run off.
The door was pulled open with great force.
Everyone looked towards the man that came out of the room with worry in their eyes. While they did want to see all the people around them remain single, they did not want them to be hurt in any other way.
"Brother San!" Cheng Xiu called out.
San Zhe started, his heavy body not reacting as well to his movements. "Sister Xiu? What are you doing here?"
"Are you okay? Where are you hurt?" she asked instead.
San Zhe stared at her for a few seconds and then burst out into laughter. "Sister Xiu, it was a nosebleed in the game. The character could not handle the backlash. It had nothing to do with me."
Cheng Xiu stilled. She stared at him with a dazed expression.
"Don't believe me?" San Zhe asked her.
Cheng Xiu shook her head, her expression was conflicted.
San Zhe stared at her and then sighed. "Sister Xiu, the game character was too stressed out. That was it. I am fine."
Cheng Xiu pursed her lips. "Yaksha ge logged out with us though?"
San Zhe raised his eyebrow. "You have your memories back?"
Cheng Xiu shrugged. "I would be only affected in the game."
San Zhe nodded. "Exactly. And the same thing is true for my nosebleed. We could only log out then because otherwise I would have to create a new character or force the character into a rebirth sequence."
Cheng Xiu sighed. "I see. So you are okay?"
San Zhe nodded.
"Then we should complete the game first?" she asked.
San Zhe shook his head. "Let us rest first. We will get back into the game later tomorrow."
Cheng Xiu stared at him and then nodded. "Then I will leave?"
San Zhe nodded.
Cheng Xiu hesitated and then left.
The boys who witnessed it all were about to comment to San Zhe but he closed the door on their faces.
They all scoffed and walked away.
Wang XiaoFu stared at the door for a moment until he was dragged away by his friends.
In the room, San Zhe sat on the bed. He stared at the tissues stained with blood that was stuffed into the dustbin.
He fell back on his pillow and let out a sigh.
He had lied just then.
He looked at the Fold that laid by his hand.
A message had come in just as Cheng Xiu had started to beat on the door.
Lord Expert: [Okay?]
Yaksha had inquired about him.
San Zhe let out another sigh. He touched his fold and accessed the interface of the Other World.
It connected to the AI system of the game.
He looked at the data that the system had compiled for his character.
0.1% Deep Dive.
San Zhe felt the warmth in his core area go down.
San Zhe's eyes seemed to glow in the dark as he felt the Qi in the air circulate around him.
He went into Deep Dive. Nothing as crazy as Cheng Xiu did but he had also gone in and it had hurt his body. He had got the warning that he would go into Deep Dive if he used a bit more force but San Zhe had not really cared at that moment. Because the Qi in his body felt real at that moment and now he could feel the Qi around him in the real world.
San Zhe's heart trembled. Did he have Qi now?
Almost as an answer to his question. The feeling of Qi disappeared.
San Zhe looked at the data of character that the Other World showed.
[Possibility of Qi Awakening has reached 50%.]
San Zhe's hands shook.
