34 Two weeks before the competition

Kiara and Justin were playing at the royal sports field , the other four participants were chatting in one of the living rooms in the palace . They were spending time in their own way till a loud noise that sounded like a bell ring disturbed them .

'' What is going on here ? '' asked Justin surprised .

Kiara turned her head in a dunno manner . The maid that escorted them a while ago came and informed her that the king had ordered all the people of the Willow family to assemble . He had an important thing to say and everyone should be present . They left what they were doing and followed the maid . It took a while to arrive at the hall where they were assembled first . Two guards that were outside the door guarding , opened the door . Kiara and Justin noticed that their cousins were also there , ready to enter . Their cold glances were directed towards them like arrows . Kiara found these glances really uncomfortable cause they always made her remember the unpleasant past . She would rather receive killer glares full of hate than those cold ones .

'' The heirs have arrived ! '' said the guard .

Inside the room the king , the crown prince and Mr Ranch had alredy arrived and were sitting on the couch . Kiara's uncle and his wife were alredy sent home because the king noticed the tension between Kiara and them . He told Mr Ranch that no matter who was in the wrong he didn't care much but he wanted a fair and square battle . The Heir position was no joke since the Willows held half of the world's military power and as a result, the heir needed to be chosen carefully . The king could sense the bad intentions of those two so he ordered Mr Ranch to send them back .

'' Your Majesty ! Your Highness ! '' said the six of them at the same time and bowed towards the king and the crown prince .

'' Welcome ! '' said the king .

When they lifted their head up , Kiara noticed that Eskylrious was showing her a smirk .

' After this meeting fishes, I better look for an opportunity to apologize to him . This gaze of his is really unbearable , I am afraid I will die soon ! ' thought Kiara .

Even though she was keeping her composure pretty well her hands continued to shake a little . Eskylrious noticed this and laughed at her . Erina was full of jealousy at the glances between Kiara and the crown prince .

'' I have gathered you here today to discuss about the day of the competition . The original plan was to hold it a month from now but due to the recent nation affairs which are pilling up, I am forced to hold the competition earlier than expected . I , along with Mr Ranch and the crown prince have decided to hold the competition teen days later . '' said the king .

All the people in the room were surprised by what they heard . Silva and Browen were a bit uncomfortable and worried with the sudden announcement . The only ones who weren't showing any dissatisfaction were Kiara and Justin .

'' Grandpa ?!! '' said Flax and Erina ready to show their objection . Mr Ranch looked at her coldly and when he was about to speak , the king interrupted .

'' Do you have any objections miss , sir ? '' asked the king calmly .

When hearing his calm tone , Erina took courage and spoke her mind .

'' In the final competition not only we have to physically prepare but even study other two subjects which are advanced math and citizen of leadership . These two subjects are only presented a month before the competition so that the competitors can have enough time to prepare themselves . These are very difficult subjects and hardly can be learned in ten days . I must ask on behalf of all that you reconsider your decision ! Please ! '' said Erina to the king .

The king then looked at each one of them . When his eyes went towards Kiara and her brother , he didn't notice a particle of worry or fear .

'' I see . Is it true ?! Do you all agree with what this miss said just now ?! '' asked the king calmly again .

Despite hating to admit it , except for Kiara and Justin the others nodded in sign of agreement .

'' What about you two ? '' asked the king .

'' Your Majesty ! I am Justin Willows . I was disqualified in the first part of the competition by the scheme of someone and lost the title as competitor . I am here only to cheer for my sister , as for me, it doesn't make much of a difference even if I offer my oppinion . '' said Justin with a clear voice .

'' I thought you were part of the competition young man . Who is the sixth candidate ? '' asked the king looking at Mr Ranch .

'' The sixth candidate hasn't arrived yet . He is dealing with his own company abroad . His name is Liam Willows , Your Majesty ! I informed him but he said that it wasn't necessary for him to come early so he would take care of his matters first . '' said Mr Ranch .

'' Oh , he has his private business at such an early age , he must be bright . '' said the king with a smile and Mr Ranch nooded .

Eskylrious noticed that in that moment Kiara's face became melancholic and a sweet girlish smile showed up . The way she looked made him a bit annoyed .

'' What about you miss Kiara ? '' asked the king .

'' First , I would like it if you don't speak in place of all of us since there are some people who have their own thoughts miss Erina . '' said Kiara in a calm and serious tone .

'' You !! ''

'' I don't wish for you to interrupt me since I didn't interrupt you when you were speaking . Secondly! Your Majesty , I have no objections regarding this matter . From the moment I entered this competition, I have no intention to back off even if some things may change on the way . I regard changes and challenges as a good way to improve myself . Even if I will lose this , I won't become a loser cause I have gained a new experience that will help me grow stronger . '' said Kiara with a determined attitude .

The king agreed with Kiara's opinion and ordered the others to have the same thought in mind .

'' Being a leader isn't easy ! You will face a lot worse than this . If you give up without a fight then you better not start this battle at all . So , I don't want any excuses . Except from miss Kiara and sir Justin , you others may leave .

The four of them were burning with rage before leaving . Mr Ranch was also boiling with anger but he had to contain himself . Now that he was under the supervision of the king he couldn't act harshly or mistreat them .

'' What are your chances of winning miss Kiara ? '' asked the king .

'' I don't know but one thing is sure , I am determined to win Your Majesty ! In a fair and square manner ! '' said Kiara looking straight at Mr Ranch's eyes , directly challenging him .

'' Is your determination deep enough as to give up everything just to win ?! '' said the king with a smirk . Eskylrious also was interested in hearing this answer .

'' Sir Justin said that he was disqualified unjustly , right ?! If I say that I may enroll your brother as an heir candidate again but in exchange, I ask for you to give up your first half of the token and compete for it from the beginning , would you agree ? To give up all the efforts you made till now and let them go in vain , would you still agree ? '' said the king with a calm face .
