138 If Not Her Parents Then Her Brothers

"Thalie, it's time," Ashton called out to her as he parked the car.

It was the second week of January and it was still dark outside when both arrived at the airport.

Her flight was early that morning for she was planning on taking a look at their office on that same day.

The flight will take her about eight hours.

She opened her eyes but still looks disoriented.

"It's cold," she complained.

"I told you to wear a thicker jacket before we left, now you're telling me it's cold?" he reprimanded her as he take out her luggage.

"Shouldn't you be giving me your jacket instead of getting mad at me?" she pouted as she got down hugging her jacket tighter.

Ashton just looked at her before pulling her luggage after locking the car.

"Unsweet," she complained as she followed him.

he once again glanced at her before leaving the luggage behind and walking ahead inside the airport, leaving it for her to pull instead.

"Jerk," she called out.

In reality they had a little fight.

His birthday was in a month's time and he asked her to stay at least until then, but Amber was adamant that she must go there already.

It's not that she didn't want to spend more time with him.

It is also not that she wanted to get things over on that country.

But instead she needed to be there to order something, it just so happens that it was on that same country so she can still surprise him.

And if she wants to surprise him, she must not tell him anything, right?

'Geez, that jerk. I'll kill him after I surprise him,' she thought as she glared at his back.

The thing she wants, could be done at most three days before his birthday and her presence is needed for it to be done.

Until they arrived at the waiting spot for the departure area, Ashton didn't look back at her.

As for her, she was pouting all through out the walk.

She even sat heavily three seats away from him, to which Ashton didn't care.

He was not mad because of the birthday, that was too childish of him, instead he was mad at her nonchalant attitude of saying that she needs to be there more than she has to stay.

Not knowing that she was really going there earlier than planned, he was made to think that she was too focused on her revenge.

He didn't want her to be engulfed by her hatred, instead he wants her to have a time for herself where she can just freely enjoy her life and be happy.

And yet here she was, adamant on leaving without thinking what he really wants her to do.

A distance away from them, Timothy didn't know whether to approach them or not.

He can see the black aura both of them are emitting and he knew they must have fought.

"The flight is almost here, why don't you sit for now?" Ashton who felt his look, turned around and saw him.

After finding out that he plans on going to Kuiper country, Ashton called for him and he decided to follow Amber's flight.

(Flashback)

In a private room of a restaurant.

"This is rare, you are the one calling for a meet up," Timothy commented upon arrival.

"I've heard from Xander that you are planning to go to Kuiper country," Ashton went straight to the point.

Timothy's movements stopped before he continued sitting down.

"What of it?"

"I'm asking you a favour."

This stunned Timothy, not once did Ashton asked him a favour, no matter what difficulties he was in, Ashton never asked them for a favour. He chose to handle everything on his own.

"Could it be for Amber?"

All of them noticed the changes in Ashton after Amber arrived in his life. That is why this change, he instantly connected it to her.

"She will be going to Kuiper as well, can you watch over her there?" Ashton said in approval of what Timothy just asked.

"What will she do there?" he asked in astonishment.

"Just like what you will do there, I told you, that girl plans on taking revenge. And her preparations are not yet over," Ashton replied seriously.

Timothy could see that if only he could, Ashton would have accompanied her.

Unless he wouldn't ask for such a favour.

"You two really… *sighs* Fine, when is her flight?" Timothy could only relent.

This was the first time that Ashton asked for a favour at the same time he couldn't help but be curious about what Amber was doing for her revenge.

What other surprises does she have?

"Tomorrow, 4 in the morning."

*CLANG*

"Are you telling me to readjust my schedule less than twenty four hours before the flight?" Timothy asked in surprise after dropping the spoon he was using in his coffee.

Ashton pulled out an envelope from his inner pocket before placing it on the table.

"Business class, beside her," he then said.

Timothy raised a brow on him.

He already prepared, he was planning on making him say yes no matter what.

"You don't mind her sitting with another guy?" Timothy commented as he picked up the envelope.

He wouldn't say no to something free.

"If it's you, I wouldn't worry," Ashton replied seriously as he sipped from his own coffee.

"Why would that be? I'm also a guy," Timothy probed further.

"I just know," was his answer.

Timothy shrugged it off, for he truly does not find himself being attracted to her as a woman.

"Fine I'll watch over her."

"Don't regret anything," was Ashton's last words to him.

(End Of Flashback)

"And still mad at her?" Timothy commented, Amber was still pouting angrily and was not looking towards them.

"I'm not mad at her," he replied.

"Really, when your aura is so dark?" he teased glancing at the lady two sits away from him.

He was stunned before nudging at Ashton.

Ashton looked at him and seeing as he was still looking at Amber, he moved and looked at Amber instead.

To his surprise she was actually clenching her hands into a fist and tears were dropping off her eyes. She was bowing down and her shoulders were trembling.

Ashton stood up instantly and walked to her, he held her head and made her look at him.

"What do you want?" Amber pushed his hand away and looked to her side.

"Why are you crying? Are you a child?" Ashton asked exasperatedly as he pulled her head and made her face him again.

Wiping the tears that was falling down her cheeks.

"I'm not a child… You just don't know..."

Amber didn't want to cry, she can have a stand off with him for all she care.

But a memory of the past suddenly came back to her.

She had a fight with her brother the night before her parents took her away.

It was a very serious fight for a child and she knew that she was the one on the wrong.

But in the end, she didn't get the chance to apologise or to even speak with him again.

She went to the kitchen that night wanting some sliced fruits, she was a six year old child, yet didn't ask for anyone to help her with the knife.

She almost got wounded if her brother didn't arrive and held it for her, though in the process he was the one who got wounded.

He reprimanded her about how dangerous it was, yet she didn't yield shouting that she was big enough.

She stormed off, leaving her brother whose hand is still bleeding.

She didn't know if it was deep, for she didn't look.

Then the next day, they left.

She couldn't help but remember that moment, now that she was about to leave again and she and Ashton is having a childish fight.

Without realising it, tears started coming out, tears she couldn't stop.

"What don't I know?" Ashton asked patiently.

"Why are you mad at me? Why aren't you speaking with me? Are we separating with you still mad at me?" she asked stubbornly.

Ashton sighed, "Look, I want you to stay a little bit more so that you can have more time to rest and unwind before going back to your preparation. But you were so adamant on leaving as if you didn't know I am worrying about you," Ashton sighed and spoke gently at her.

He didn't know what's wrong with her but surely a bad memory returned to her for her to suddenly cry like this.

And for her to cry like this, it is only connected to her family.

If not her parents then her brothers.

"And I told you, I will do just that. Yet you just won't believe me," she insisted, not wanting to tell him the real reason why she was adamant on leaving so early.

"That is why I asked someone to accompany you since he will be going there as well," Ashton gave another sigh before pointing at Timothy, whom Amber didn't notice.
